  7. I'm a guilty party on this one. I figured if someone here wants to see my MySpace page, no problem, send a friend request and you can get right in. I know it sounds petty, but I keep my shit private for a couple of reasons: 1. It's my private life where my friends and I can share our silly pics and shit like that. 2. I don't let anyone I work with in, because there's a lot of fake, petty shit at my work, there's no way I'm letting them in - my time out of the office isn't their business, as long as it's legal, and it's all legal! 3. The ex factor. We still have some of the same friends/acquaintences, and I don't want that sneaky bastard to be privy to any part of my life anymore. He made the decision to leave, so fuck him, it's none of his business what I'm doing now. I know they're all very personal reasons, but I've had a few people from here put in the friend request thing, and I've done the same to them. If it's offending anyone that my page is set to private when I have the link in my signature, no problem, I can take it off. Always be kinder than you feel.
  8. Here's a link: http://skydive-jamaica.com/ I wonder when it's opening? I'm a Jamaica freak, so it would put me on Cloud 9 if I coud've been in the country I love doing the thing that I love. Do you have a trip booked already or just looking for somewhere to go where you can work the skydiving into your vacation? Ahhhhh........ Red Stripe, Jamaican beef and chicken patties, beautiful Jamaican people... One Love! Ya mon!!! Remember, it's all irie! Always be kinder than you feel.
  9. Well, this morning I finally got in my AFF 1 jump. It was soooooooooooooooo awesome. We were the second Otter load of the day. I was really nervous about it, but I knew once I got over this hurdle of the first time piloting the canopy on my own, the mind-fuck game was over. I got that one jump in before the instructor came in and said the winds were too bad for the AFF students, we'll wait and see what happens wind-wise later on. I'm learning not to stress on something that's completely out of my control, so I just chilled with the other students and went to the back deck and took pictures of those who could jump despite the winds. Here's what my instructor put in my logbook: Jump #4 / Exit Altitude: 13,500 / Location: XKeys / Aircraft: Twin Otter / Equipment: 260 Nice exit. Did COA & 3 PTOs. Nice job. Great body position. Gave one "legs out". Nice response. Waved & pulled at 5500 ft. Funny winds. Talked student all the way down. Move to B-2. I did PLF on landing, but nothing to write home about. I just wanted to stand up and jump for joy that I finally did it, but on the outside I remained my cool and calm. ;-) I did learn that I forgot to tighten the cord on my new goggles and they were blowing up my face, luckily I had my helmet on or they probably would've launched. And I also learned that having long hair, even with wearing a helmet, I still need to put it in a ponytail first. I must've spent 10-15 minutes after the debriefing trying to get the wicked knots out of my hair! I wish I had some pictures, but I'll something next time (hopefully!). I'm back at the DZ @ 10am tomorrow morning for more AFF jumps. I'm so stoked. I hope I can sleep tonight.!
  10. LOL - Gary's a baby! I guess I was impressed with the 38 minutes for someone his age?? But, maybe he was just "relaxing" for a bit? Whatever it is, it started my morning out with a laugh. When I'm at the DZ today, I'll be looking at the carpet in the Skyvan for ummm..... stains! Yuck! I.Just.Can't.Imagine. It's filthy!!! Always be kinder than you feel.
  11. Wow. That's amazing! That has to be one of the best stories of dedication, pride in your love of skydiving and definitely paying it forward! I bet you had a big influence on the woman's life!!! I think today I'm going to look at my instructors a little bit differently!! You know, I'm also a big fan of 'pay it forward'. I bought my first helmet yesterday. The one I really wanted, they didn't have in my size, so I bought the XBrand student helmet with the attitude of "when I complete getting my A license I'll pass this helmet along to someone new". Yeah, it was only *cough* $32 *cough* but I'm quickly learning how expensive this additiction can be. Every penny can count sometimes! Blue Skies - Karen PS - Thanks for the comment on my video. :-) Always be kinder than you feel.
  12. Quoteabout 38min 07sec into it pops up a skydiving scene Quote Hey JB - The first thing that popped into my mind was "who gets 38 minutes into porn"?? LOL! Good for you! Did you actively search for "porn+skydiving"? Always be kinder than you feel.
  13. Hi Luis! I'm kinda getting the hang of the DZ. People are really nice! I was set for AFF1 this morning @ 8am, but when 11am rolled around I checked an aviation weather website, saw that it wasn't looking good so I asked Sean to reschedule me for tomorrow morning. Then I went to the gear store and grabbed the 'essentials' (see my goofy pics here and on my MySpace) so I'm good for tomorrow. I hope the next 7 weeks goes safely (and FAST!) for you. Then when you come home, get some more good videos on your MySpace. I love them - especially the balloon jump!!! Take care & blue skies back at you - Karen Always be kinder than you feel.
  14. We all aren't that bad, right?? Right?? Always be kinder than you feel.
  15. Not if you're my ex-husband! Always be kinder than you feel.
  16. Does a dream about banging a hot guy at the DZ count? Just kidding..... Always be kinder than you feel.
  17. OMG - My brother and I used to sometimes take Nyquil on cold, winter nights to sleep soundly. The sleep of the dead! Always be kinder than you feel.
  18. Provigil. Edited to add: You MUST talk to your doctor about this. I'm not a medical doctor, just some lowly state worker computer geek who has gone through lots of medical shit in the last year or so. Always be kinder than you feel.
  19. Sweet! I loveeeeeeeeeeeee fireworks!! I'm a July baby and it brings back lots of good summer memories!! Thanks for sharing! Always be kinder than you feel.
  20. Here's one equally as charming..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19XmNXeAvIg It's call 'Smell Yo Dick' by a rapper named Riskay. Enjoy! Always be kinder than you feel.
  21. The good old Boyfriend Bonfire!!! Before I got married I did one (in a fireplace) with shit I wanted gone (old cards, notes, pictures, etc.) from old boyfriends that didn't really have any *true* and *lasting* meaning to me. Now that I'm divorced, I have boxes of cards, little love notes and a ton of other stuff that I feel were all lies and should be burned, but as of this exact date 5 years ago today (the day he said he wanted a divorce), I just don't have the heart yet. It is quite a spiritual release when you finally get around to it! Always be kinder than you feel.
