I really wanted to jump one weekend so I sold my guitar amp,speaker cabinet, all my effects, and the guitar. I spent it all in one weekend. Some of the first FF footage i saw when I started AFF in 98 was the Flyboyz footage from the X games. This inspired me to freefly, and started my skydiving career in the direction of freefly. Eli, you were always welcoming and friendly over the years every time I saw you, wherever that was. It was a huge privledge to be able to jump and be friends with a pioneer, freefly champion, TV star, and all around good guy. I turned down the chance to jump with you last time I was in Perris because I didnt have much money to jump, what a regret that is now. I knew someone who fell for the money order scam and sent someone cash through western union after cashing the bogus postal money order. I just could'nt feel that sorry for the guy. My dad lists stuff on craigslist all the time and gets tons of scam offers. He always leads the scammers along until he gets the bogus checks then sends them a picture of himself flipping them off. Saturday October 20th, 19 freeflyers at Skydive Dallas set the new vertical Texas state record. A 19-way completed on the 6th attempt. Congrats to all involved. A wild party ensued afterwards, there will be no further record attempts today :) Also, as a side note, only 1 of the 19 jumpers was from out of state. I cant believe it's been a year. Almost every weekend at the DZ I see something that reminds me of Mariann. This last week I was digging through my closet looking for something and one of Mariann's old freefly jumpsuits was sitting there, unseen for years.
