The lesser told story of Adam and Eve: Adam, was very lonely after being created. He asked God to provide a companion, someone that could keep him company in paradise, he ask God that they be intelligent, beautiful, and loving, God said that he could do this, but it would cost Adam one of his legs. Adam thought about it for a brief moment... And said "mehhh, what could I get for a single rib?"

What whuffo questions annoy you the most?
jclalor replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I also enjoy the look on faces when I explained that a 14 year old highschool girl packed my parachute all weekend. Wuffos's all seem to think that there's some skydiver code, that only the person packing the rig can jump it. -
This was written before the Duggar story broke, but very pertinent. "I thought, "Oh my gosh, I'm that chewed up piece of gum, nobody re-chews a piece of gum. You throw it away." And that's how easy it is to feel like you no longer have worth, you no longer have value. Why would it even be worth screaming out? Why would it even make a difference if you are rescued? Your life still has no value." -Elizabeth Smart- http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kristen-howerton/damaging-effects-of-shame-based-sex-education-lessons-from-elizabeth-smart_b_3226971.html

“You went to bed and woke up stupid this morning, huh?”

South San Jose, July 4th, 1978. My new .22 rifle was burning a hole in my closet, I realllllly wanted to shoot it for the first time. So I stole a diet Dr Peppper from my sister, tossed it out my bedroom window, line up the crosshairs in the middle of the can and squeezed. The first thing I noticed was my stomach hurt, there was lots of smoke and the can of soda was intact. I'm no crime scene reconstructionist, but the best I could figure is that the barrle was sitting in my window seal wth the scope looking over the top. I still have the scar. -
Those poor little girls... What a nightmare was (is) there life. I hope they eventually find the professional help they so desperately need.

Desperate migrants on boats: how to solve?
jclalor replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
And on a slightly related subject, some of my Ethiopian coworkers showed a poor quality video of a giant bannana boat attempting to retrieve a tow line offered by a large container type ship. The refugees end up in the water with the container ship trying to recover as many as possible. It appears some from the upper decks were throwing life vest to the flailing people in the water. My coworkers insist it was women and childre being thrown overboard, rubbish. If any one sees this video please send me a link, I really want to show them how silly they looked, I just about had them seeing it my way, then the link was lost. -
Desperate migrants on boats: how to solve?
jclalor replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
But that's never going to happen, so it's unrealistic as an achievable solution. Shitholes will always exist, and they will always generate refugees. I'm not certain that's true. In the '70s the "boat people" were from Vietnam. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's not quite as bad as it used to be.. I think it's way worse now, there were less than a million "boat people" from 1975-1995. And the majority of them left in 76-77 , when the getting was good. I think Europe is getting just that much on a yearly basis. The "boat people" did very well for themselves in this country. -
All I know is that in Californian, if you have a 3 piece cut, and you don't have the proper support, it can be trouble. There's lots of motorcycle groups here with Lots of different patches, once you get to a bottom and top rocker, it's a different game.

The world was a much better place With Sadam Hussein in it. This Memeorial day is going to be particularly hard, keeping in mind that we gave 4,000 lives for... ?

Unless you're very young and catholic.

There are two main groups, The Blue Knights, they are pretty benign. But still enjoy the whole vest and color thing, I never got that. I joined for a year and it just wasn't for me. The Warthogs are a different story, it's cops and firemen. They run it like a wanna-be 1% club, I just don't get it. I know a few guys in, but I don't get the attraction. They aren't hiding behind their badges, they are flaunting them, which again, I just don't get or agree with. I think many here don't understand the difference between a motorcycle club and a motorcycle group. "Harley owners group", is a benign group, they wear their patches very differently than a club, they can ride anywhere, they are making no territorial claims. MC's are just a little bit more nefarious. Years ago, I joined a very very tame MC, I had no idea what I was doing, I had only been riding for about a year. A few months after being patched in, I had a knock at my door, it seemed that another local and much larger MC was not thrilled that I was wearing my colors on this part of the continent. All things considered, they were very nice. They followed me back to my closet for my vest and and then they were gone. And FWIW, when our club was formed, it was all good with the big club, there was then some very bad blood in house with the other group, that's why we got shut down, all in all, a very interesting experience.

It was, all though the longer that I'm out, the better it seems to have been. I also had the good fortune of serving during a time of peace. (For the most part)

Of concern to Christian and other patriotic Americans

I know it's a bit off topic, but doesn't Paul sound absolutely desperate to be believed? -
What would you propose that would be constitutional? Perhaps my choice of words could have been better. My point was, if several hundred members of black gangs were known in advance to be meeting up in a public place, the state would have called out the National guard. (Although it's possible they were busy keeping an eye on federal invaders.) they would have had more than 18 cops. At the Santa Clara county fair every year, where there's always a heavy gang presence, there is also a heavy public presence of "Gang" suppression units, uniformed state parole agents, and uniformed county probation officers. Along with a huge presence of state and local police. Is this tactic to discourage gang activity by police illegal? The fact that Waco PD says they only had 18 officers outside of the parking lot says a lot. It sounds to me like some Waco and Texas PD are chicken shit.

Twin Creeks corporate office claimes that this particular restaraunt manager ignored law enforcement and corporate advice regarding the gathering. They have announced that the franchise has been revoked. It's hard to believe that the police would allow so many criminals to gather together in a public venue. I wonder what's so different with these gangs that would have the police giving them so little initial law enforcement contact?

Choosing among the GOP candidates based on their music

I never understood how Chrissy Hynde could allow "El Rushbo" almost 20 years of using "My city was gone" as bumper music.
