There are countless strains, but some are more prevalent each year and pose a greater health risk than others. Each year the flu vaccine targets 3 strains, To say that each year the vaccine is a "Blind guess" is completely false How they are selected; http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/1011_vac_selection.htm This years three targeted strains; an A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)–like virus; an A/Perth/16/2009 (H3N2)–like virus; and a B/Brisbane/60/2008–like virus. (God damm Aussies) General vaccine information; http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/keyfacts.htm

Speaking of personal records, I gave 187 flu shots in 4 hours last Thursday.

Christians - how do you rationalise your belief?
jclalor replied to nigel99's topic in Speakers Corner
I never heard of him. Certainly, no one except you talks about him anymore. On the other hand, Jesus is well known and talked about to this day. Inevitably, Jesus will also be nothing more than a footnote in the history books....just like all the other gods, and the world will be better off for it. Ron may not realize it, but he is almost an Atheist too, we we just believe in one less god that he does. I'm not sure who said it, but I always liked the quote; "When you understand why you dismiss all of the other possible Gods, only then will you understand why I dismiss yours" -
That's all you have?

Fixing the taxes would just be a foot note. Labor costs dominate and you won't fix anything until you fix those. As of 2009, it cost $150/month to hire a Chinese autoworker versus $28/hour to hire a UAW worker (before overtime). It cost $10K/year to hire a software engineer in China and $7500 in India versus $ 80K/year in America. Getting rid of corporate taxes which allow corporations in tax-free countries to do business at 26% less cost won't help when our labor is over 4300% more expensive (assuming the Chinese only need to work 20 hours of overtime a week). Being competitive requires total costs (productivity divided into the sum of wages + transportation + taxes) for a given output to line up. That can happen because our wages drop to match theirs (in real dollars) or theirs increase to match ours. It can happen when our costs of sustaining an "American middle class lifestyle" drop to match theirs or because American workers start living in corporate dormitories or cage apartments. I agree with what your saying, the problem is we will never work for a tenth of what they pay the Chinese and Indian labor force. It also doesn't help when the the Chinese under value their currency. At the rate things are going, i'll end up having to change my name to appu, learn to speak Hindi, and work in a call center servicing Indian consumers.

This is the real reason to be pissed at the Chinese when it comes to sharks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fJZ4febpow&feature=related

You do realize that the corporate, personal, and capital gains tax rate is the lowest it's been in 60 years? you do know that right? http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2011/04/us-tax-rates-1916-2010/

In all honesty, that was a funny line.

You are absolutely right. we need to get rid of all these pesky labor laws that's preventing a return to the good old days, when business did not have it's hands tied behind their back. http://twentytwowords.com/2010/11/24/15-photographs-of-child-labor-in-america-from-the-early-1900s/

I'm not talking about the few months of recession, I am talking about the last 20-30 years. what were corporate profits doing under W.? What were US wages doing at the same time? Can you show me data that shows the middle class's income growing until 2008? $26,000 is the low end of the middle class. If you think the middle class is shrinking, that's fine, you are entitled to your own opinion, just not your own facts. from the article;

What planet are you living on? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704474804576222333619990742.html Apparently on one that is reality based. You link dealt with financial profits. Here's the last sentence from your own link, I would suggest you read your own links before posting them. For three months non financial profits fell, what a fucking pity. What have they done overall in the last 10 years ? What has happened to middle class income over the last 10 years? How loving Jewish people worship God and reject Jesus. They were there. Not the ones I know. Why do you think the vast majority of Jews rejected Jesus? they were certainly open to the idea of a messiah at the time. Perhaps they had seen too many that were just like Jesus, there were many preaching the same message at the same time as Jesus. Honi Ha-Ma'agel, the circle drawer who lived in Judea the same time as Jesus, did everything that Jesus did, and then some. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honi_ha-M'agel -

Vietnam was never a nuclear threat to the US, It was all about containing the sphere of Soviet influence (the domino effect) I think the conventional wisdom is that Israel will never let Iran have a nuclear weapon. Pakistan has over 100 nuclear warheads dispersed through out the country. The US will never allow Pakistan to be over thrown by Muslim radicals. http://www.defence.pk/forums/current-events-social-issues/108666-us-deploy-troops-if-pakistan-nukes-come-under-threat.html
-
How long can this trend continue? http://nvonews.com/2011/10/23/us-wage-level-dropping-income-gap-growing/
-
That's easy, The US is worried that the present "moderate" Pakistan Government is overthrown by radicals and then loses control of it's large nuclear arsenal. Afghanistan is seen as a safe haven for Pakistan radicals.

I must have missed the "Repeal Roe-Wade" on their respective campaign sites...can you provide the links? I must have missed where you wanted proof only from a campaign site. You said: "Really? Why don't you show us where ANY GOP presidential candidate has run on your statement. We'll wait." Here's another GOP candidate, their endless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDpqIwI-eT8 Why are you playing so stupid on this one? -

Your preaching to the choir. Mike said that no Republican has ever run on repealing Roe v Wade. I gave examples. you jumped into the conversation to defend Mike and I then gave you an example. Here's another hint, when you use a quote, make sure to read all the words in caps. -

http://www.charismanews.com/politics/32177-herman-cain-promises-to-overturn-roe-v-wade Congradulations, you found an extreme right wing publication that zeroed in on his one statement, however: A. He did not say that his nomination was dependent on his being pro-life. B. He did not say that was the only issue he was running on. Survey says..... Fail!!!! (Borrowed trademarked quote from Amazon, $.25 in the mail) Here's the extreme right Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAuwuLse1Gg -
