Montana Gov: Romney’s father ‘born into polygamy commune in Mexico’
jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
It looks like one the biggest obstacles for Romney's Mormn faith, will be with devout Christian's beleif in the trinity. Polling shows the mormon deniall of the trinity will be a major sticking point with many of them. Accoring to Rick Warrens, “Well, the key sticking point for evangelicals and actually for many is the issue of the Trinity,” the evangelical pastor explained. “Orthodox Christians, Catholic Christians, Protestant Christians, evangelical Christians and Pentecostal Christians all believe in the Trinity; that’s the historic doctrine of the church, that God is three-in-one. Not three gods; one God in Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/04/08/rick-warren-mormonism-denies-christian-doctrine/ -
Senator Feinstein puts hold on reciprocity bill

Yes, the 2nd should really be all we would ever need, but the left does not see it that way. And I am for States rights, are you? I never said a state has a right to ban them. So if anyone can carry in Arizona, even with a major mental illness, they could carry anywhere they want? What about free speech? What is considered protected speech varies from state to state . I'm sure the good and godly people of Alabama don't want my California obscenity laws to be forced upon them. All you would-be Harry callahan's are just gonna have to chill. -

Not an expert. Find out what medicare reimburses for the same treatment you received, and then start by offering them about 70% of that. -

Romney's experience as a CEO willl be one of his strongest atributes, but I also think that politicts have gotten so heated and personal in the last ten years that there's no going back. I think now it's all about perception, The left feels (rightly or wrongly) that the attacks on Obama were too personal last election, and now with the super pacs, major personal attacks can be launched with both of the candidates not getting their hands dirty. I really think if Romney does the Etch-a-sketch trick, he stands a chance. It's all about the mushy middle 10%, I have yet to meet a person who says their unsure who they will vote for November. -

this isn't something new you know That is how Obama got elected Obama had a positive favorability rating that was very close to the percentage he won the election with. Romney, although he has had a slight bump in the last week, is still polling with a negative favorability rating. it's pretty undisputed his favorability ratings. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/record-shortfall-personal-popularity-challenges-romney-race-ahead/story?id=16151342 He still has a while to turn it around. -

*** Obama and Romney each have 45% of the vote, the battle is over the 10% in the middle. These 10% are not driven by ideological agendas, this is why Mccain lost, they were horrified by Palin. If Romney was to pick a middle of the road moderate Republican for VP and tone down the extremist rhetoric, he would still get his base 45% plus a good number of the swing voters and waltz into the WH. This is what the left fears most. -

jclalor replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
That's the wonderful thing about campaigns now, just throw all the shit against the wall and see what sticks. This almost worked for the right with accusations that Obama was a Muslim, a Kenyan a terrorist etc etc etc. The truth no longer matters in elections, only creating unfounded fears. -

Harry Reid does not legislate his religious views, I have no problem with anyone's religion as long as they can keep church business and state business seperate. The mormons have some wonderful qualities, I have always admired how they take care of fellow members financialy whenf they are in a time of crisis. They also had some of the cutest tv commercials back in the eighties. Very few on the right are voting for Romney, their voting against Obama. -

Wendy P. The LDS has many positive atributes. as do most other religions. Reid has a history of backing law that is very contrary to the Mormon church What has my head spinning is how the Republicans, who have been hijacked by Christian fundlementalist, now accept a candiate who is Mormon. If it was not for the fact that he was running against Obama, he would be considered the spawn of Satan by most Fundlementalist. ( Many still do) Everyone knows the vast majority of the Republican party is voting against Obama, and not for Romney. -

Perhaps your right. I have just become so tired of seeing the countless and baseless Obama attacks; He's a muslim, he was born in Kenya, he's a terrorist, He knowingly eats dogs, he's a communist etc etc etc. If Obama had belong to a church with just a fraction of the scandal the Mormon church has... -

Polygamy is weird, go ask around a little bit, don't take my word for it. Whats even weirder? forcing young girls to have sex with old men, as was the norm for Morminism, until they had to do away with it so Utah could become a state. Then again, perhaps 14 year old girls want to have sex with 60 year old men. Or they could just move to Mexico. -
