  1. Science can be so inconvenient. http://articles.latimes.com/2012/apr/26/science/la-sci-religion-analytical-thinking-20120427
  2. It's funny you mention the 10 commandments, I asked a group of my Christian co-workers last night to name all 10 commandments. The 4 of them, together, could only come up with 7/10. Now if I beleived with all of my heart and soul that an eternity of bliss awaited me, the least I could do is memorize the big 10. Dutch had it wrong on more than one thing. The Athiest movement is growing and approval for Gay marriage is on the rise, as yesterdays influential generation ages and will soon be obsolete. New discoveries in science only confirm belief in the rational, not in 2000 year old folktales. Thankfully, the day's of Ozzie and Harriet are not coming back.
  3. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Mitt Romney earning 49% of the vote and President Obama attracting 44% support. Four percent (4%) would vote for a third party candidate, while another three percent (3%) are undecided. ------------ Generally speaking, women aren't as behind O. as they were in 2008. No group is, really. And the UAW and Gay vote? Really? You're going there? Like they wouldn't vote for a democrat? In light of the recent announcement by Obama, that he now suportts GM (Gay marriage), I retract all predictions for him being a winner by a large margin. Worst blunder of the campign for either side, For all those that thought Obama would recieve the majority of all the black vote, will now be very dissipointed about the gay issue. The brothers don't be diggin the gay thing at all, Now I think it's a race. Hilliary 2016
  4. Many great responses, I think another reason was the invention of "Stranger danger" Once we no longer allowed our kids to run loose outside, due to the new un-founded fear that that they woud be kidnapped, molested and raped, ( Thank's milk cartons) They then started sitting in front of the TV and then computer for 8 hours a day. There's a PSA commercial now running telling kids that they need to get outside and play more, then they give a website for them to learn how, WTF. have you also ever noticed, the wealthier the nieghborhood, the less fast-food avaiable? It's no coincidence that the obestity rate rises as the income and education level falls.
  5. If we only had some lemons...
  6. He's desperate for Michigan and Ohio, He's already pissed off the Latino, Women, Gay, and UAW vote, and he has only just begun. This is going to be fun
  7. Exit last, but first get his watch and wallet.
  8. The web site says 'Tailgate aircraft" I hope they mean the Skyvan. Anyone know?
  9. This is at least an honorable mention. http://www.immigration911.org/news/2012/01/illegal-alien-rapes-and-murders-one-month-old-baby-in-nm/
  10. Not sure about Europe, not the case in the the states. How could you safely jump from 4000 meters when you have never experienced anything close to terminal velocity? I learned back in the eightie's with S/L, took twenty years off and re-learned with AFF 4 years ago. While I loved the s/l, AFF, I feel is far superior, on many levels. Just my opinion, what ever you learn with, you will swear is superior. Just pick one and stick with it, you can't go wrong skydiving in any any form.
  11. That's one of the funniest thing I have ever read here.
  12. Being put against a wall and shot is too easy, being released into the general population of a prison, with your crimes being known by your fellow inmate, is much more fitting.
  13. I had the same problem, and I repeated several AFF levels. I then spent 15mintes in the tunnel and it was well worth it, after 3 minutes in the tunnell, I was stable on my belly, a few minutes later I was doing turns.... it was great, the last 5 minutes in the tunnell I developed a pretty decent head-down. Bottom line, a few mintes in the tunnell and the AFF will (pardon the pun) be a breeze.
  14. Don't sell yourself short, tandem skydives are serious business, and not everyone has the requisite aptitude needed to excell in this sport. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roXURlkRzhU Pay close attention to his "impact".
  15. ****** [/quote This is a great topic, when I was in catholic middle school, I ask a teacher if I could do a paper on Karen Ann Quinlan, the young girl in the coma. He said that this was a great idea, why don't you do a paper on euthanasia, euthanasia? I thought, what the hell do kids in China have to do with suicide... Many that are facing mental illness, are facing organic brain didorders that, at present can not be cured. if I ever got the dx of a dementia type illness, I woud never let my chid and famiyn have to deal with that.
  16. I know how I feel; pissed off. I really thought Obama would have the brains to get us out of there, I'm now gonna be paying for this shit the rest of my life? I guess now that Obama has laid out his Afghanistan policy, Romey can now take the opposite position.
  17. ***Was watching a PBS report on the restoration of the San Joachin River. I watched that too, great show.
  18. I'm aways perplexed why so many, will spend so much time and money trying To save dumb shit animals. (99% being whales and dolphins) There are so many humans who are much more deserving of the resorces.
  19. Not only is the MW too high as it is, these dead beats need to start paying their fare share in incom tax.
  20. Ironically, Fox kind of got this one right. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/04/26/govt-backs-off-new-limits-on-child-labor-on-farms/
  21. U2 One Is it getting better Or do you feel the same Will it make it easier on you now You got someone to blame You say... One love One life When it's one need In the night One love We get to share it Leaves you baby if you Don't care for it Did I disappoint you Or leave a bad taste in your mouth You act like you never had love And you want me to go without Well it's... Too late Tonight To drag the past out into the light We're one, but we're not the same We get to Carry each other Carry each other One... Have you come here for forgiveness Have you come to raise the dead Have you come here to play Jesus To the lepers in your head Did I ask too much More than a lot You gave me nothing Now it's all I got We're one But we're not the same Well we Hurt each other Then we do it again You say Love is a temple Love a higher law Love is a temple Love the higher law You ask me to enter But then you make me crawl And I can't be holding on To what you got When all you got is hurt One love One blood One life You got to do what you should One life With each other Sisters Brothers One life But we're not the same We get to Carry each other Carry each other One...life One
  22. The worst I have ever felt for someone singing the national anthem, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWP8ZJ6674Y
  23. I'm afraid you are wrong, kemosabe. This is from the original article: *** The Department of Labor is poised to put the finishing touches on a rule that would apply child labor laws to children working on family farms, prohibiting them from performing a list of jobs on their own families’ land. Under the rules, most children under 18 could no longer work “in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials.” “Prohibited places of employment,” a Department press release read, “would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions.” I'm sure some over zealous prosecutor would also classify moving items from the field to the silo as "Transporting" under the law also... I guess since they figure city children are forced to sit inside and play x-box all day, they would make the country folk do the same. I would think 99% of people would consider a "family farm" as one that is owned by the parents. The story sounds a lot differnent if its labled, "not being able to work on a relatives farms". The latter of the two labels does not conjure up the same visceral reaction.
