  1. Not sure these days I haven't been across the BQE in many years (early 90's) but I bet thery are. The last few times I was up there it was over to JFK area. And yes the first time I did come to a big ass stop and rolled down the window to check, but it was 4 am. if no one tells ya it sure will wake you up in a hurry. After making many trips up there and bean town most every where else is a cake walk. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  3. chicago, well no fucking wonder..... Again till you been trying to get around in a big rig, don't knock it. Just like someone bouncing, could happen to the best of them. I would love to see how well your rookie ass could handle it in any major city, I have trucked in every major city in the USA and many of those were the first time to that city like NYC and in a big rig. In fact the only times I have been to NYC was in a truck, there can be a lot of pucker factor on a trip like that. I have never topped a trailer for the record, but I have taken more then one 13-6 under a bridge marked 12-6, some were marked wrong and others it was a good thing I had a load on the wagon, you ever try to do a u-turn in downtown Boston with a 85 foot long rig? Yes the industry is in really bad shape and they will take any one they can get to drive, many shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car let alone a truck. I did 20 years driving and very glad to be off the road with the idiots in cars and trucks trying to kill you and the all free proctology screenings from the DOT, eating like shit every meal and getting 2 hour naps for sleep all week and the rest of the shit you will never understand till you go trucking. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. Have you ever driven a big rig? My guess is no you have not. So you really have no idea how easy it is to miss a sign that for one is not on the bridge it's self and off to the side. Most signs are posted on the bridge and that is where one would be looking for it. Seeing how you have not logged ANY miles in a big rig you couldn't even start to understand what it might be like to take a big rig into a town you have never been to and navigate your way around. Have you ever been to NYC? I have a number of times and each trip was in a big rig, nothing like taking your first trip to NYC and crossing the BQE to find every overpass marked 12-6 when it is really 13-6, so those signs are not always correct. My guess is your one of the stupid four wheelers who drive around big trucks like a jackass, untill you go out a log 150,000 miles a year in a big rig you have no real clue as to how easy one could have this happen and how stupid people in four wheelers drive. There is a lot more going on in the cab and it is very easy to not see every sign posted and this bridge is posted wrong and the sign is hiding off to the side and among to many other signs. Go get behind the wheel of one then you might get clue. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  6. It's funny to hear you guys talk about how the DZO is understanding what good photos can do for the advertisement of the dz. I printed up bout 10 13 x 19's (TDM's, AFF,) and had them foam backed and laminated all at my expense, then took them to the DZ to help advertise the jumps and still's service and couldn't have any wall space to hang them up (yes there was open wall space). So let's just say I don't do those kind of things anymore and won't offer any help for free advertising anymore at my expense or add the dz logo/website to any images, unless it's mine. To bad more DZO's don't see the value in what we do. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  9. Yea, as Miami said if you have more then one rig it can be a pain. I have both my camera rigs set up the same, the clips just live on the leg straps, I never have a reason to take them off, one less thing to do to get dressed. I have a third pair made up and keep them in my rigging kit for "just in case" one breaks or I jump another rig. My wing's came from tony with the rsl clip, I did not like them and unstiched them, just because their very hard to find by feeling for them (as in if you can't move your head to look for them) I don't have to look to find these and they unsnap way easier then the other. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. Just like on a protec chin strap, only the big ones 1 inch, you can buy them at wal-mart for about 2.25, I been using them for the last 15 years. I never liked the RSL style, to hard to see and find to undo in a hurry, the clips I use are easy to find and see. I use the white ones. My swoop cords stay the same setting, but the HC clip is made to be adjustable so I can make the wing more tight or loose as needed for the job at hand. This is just above the leg strap buckle/thread thru's and are not tacked down in order to make changes jump to jump if need be. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  12. No, here in the midwest it can be very easy to lose a student to tall corn and bean fields during the season, it is even harded to find them if they are hurt and laying down once the sun goes down. In some cases the person could die from injurys before being found. Anyone who has tried to find a lost student in Sugar cane or very large and tall corn fields, can tell you it can be a big pain in the ass in day light and even from the air, let alone after its dark. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  15. I see no reason to spend that kind of cash to replace any of my sd cams, the income we make from jumping cams don't justify another new camera, to do would be "keeping up with the jones". you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
