I've been reading this thread and lurking, till now. I will agree with what all has been said to a point. Where I disagree is, Look I own my own multimedia company and produce alot of media, many of my clients have come from meeting them while making their skydive videos. I have been doing Skydive video and film going on 15 yrs now and 25 yrs outside skydiving, while I'm no DSE or Mike M or Tony H. ect, I still have a reputaion I have worked long and hard to build up, and yes my production company is credited on every video I or my company makes. Why? Because I'm a L.L.C. not an I.C. as most in other words a business, in this case a production company and it is the best free marketing one can get. It is no different then a clicky url logo on a website. As for letting the client pick their music, ONLY if it is already in the itunes or they are holding the cd, and even then it is a maybe. I don't have the time to fuck around waiting for them to go to the car or download shit from the net, it is high volume turn over and there is a trade off, if they want it in 30 minutes from landing along with the others on the load, you get what you get. With that said, this all started back in the day when there was only a few of us who had any real editing so our videos were better, had music and titles and a few trans. while others it was just raw shit and bad at that. So the dzo grew sick of hearing customers bitch about johnnys vid is way better then sallys, crap. This would include crap like, Well over time all the stupid shit the "pretend videoflyers" (where are they now?) had been doing the dzo, much to our dismay spent money and a new DZ owned edit station showed up with a new rule, each and every single video would be the same, PERIOD! Same music, same shots, same titles, everything. So those of us who for years had spent thousands of dollars to keep and maintain a system were shit out of luck and told we couldn't use our set up's anymore. Well that made for huge traffic jam after a twotter load with 5 or 6 videos on it and there was no trained full time editor and everyone had to edit there own videos. It got to be a huge pain in the ass to keep replaceing song after song because some retard tandem student wanted Christal Gayle for a sound track or some other stupid shit. So the rule is now, there is a handful of songs with in the time line and moved around based on the persons, age, sex, religion. For the most part each is clean and something you could play in sunday school or at your local bar, yet still cool. Like I said if it is in the itune menu or their holding fine I might change it out for them, it has more to do with volume and speed. If someone want's a video done with the music this way and that, here and there, and slo-mo this, and do that here, they can hire me for the big bucks then and I'll be happy to produce them a movie and they can have all the control that their paying for. (and they have & do) For all the risk and investment involved to the camera flyer for the rate paid, for the type of product most dz's put out, why try to be Hollywood on a Kansas City budget. Hey if you got the time to fuck around downloading music and waiting on people to grab CD's and all that shit more power to ya, but my ass is importing stills and video at the same time and then draging, dropping some frames, sliding the tunes in place and exporting to dvd in a few minutes and while that records I'm packing so I can do two more back to back. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Just wondering what they charged you. My dzo has two telesis rigs (2nd hand), for two seasons we have not used them. The reason is, after a couple (aff) students rode R's, we looked over the rigs, a few of us riggers feel that 1. cutaway cable to short on RSL side and 2. the handle placement on the mudflap is a bad idea for AFF rigs and two easy for a hand to dislodge during an AFF from hell or the rollovers. With both rigs after an LV. 1 students reported that main opened and "one side released, so I pulled the handle, but my other canopy was already out" after two in a row the dzo grounded the rigs. IMO there fine if, 1. longer cables were in place and the handle was moved to a "normal" location. With that said, rig's still sit wasting away when a minor fix costing only a few bucks would put two good student rigs in the air again. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

For me it helps that I have had a cold and bad cough too, so my lungs hurt and I don't want to smoke. It's even starting to stink now to me and I tossed the ash tray in the trash can too. I still get to jones'n and have cravings, but if I cough it goes away. I also feel better or at least I think I feel better. Hang in there, we can kick the habit, hell been a full week without, seems kind of stupid to start up again, I never thought I would last a week stopping cold turkey, but I did.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did get packed at Z-hills, and your right there is no way to know who packed it unless the owner watched. It is part of the risk of using a packer, I guess. However I have posted here before about people I see do the same things these days and some of the stupid reasons as to why they are trying to reinvent the wheel, and that is how that kind shit get's started. It seemed in fashion not long ago to have 3 to 4 feet of lines in the pack tray, with some people I knew. Brother/sister I know what you mean after 25 yrs of being a slave to RJR, I'm on day 5 of being cig free. Have'n the same fight myself, trying to keep from going to get a pack. Once I hack and cough from my cold, I don't want to go get cig's anymore. I also find it helps go think of all the reasons why I would be better off to quit, like seeing some old guy walking into a store the other day with his porta OXY bottle and buy a pack of smokes. The smell it leaves on your clothes & car, house ect. All the money spent over the years to shorten life. I don't use packers 97% of the time, but when I was in the hills in Jan. I did talk to the packers there about how I wanted my rig back. That is a great packing operation you guys have going there TK. The gang at Nylon City rock, I like the fact that so many of them are ticket holders too. That is one place I don't mind using a packer at the end of the day. No that would looking in the wrong place for the information, however USPA will republish FAA doc's. You need to get out more or PA removed by slotperfect. Better yet learn the regulations you are operating under and respondsable to know and understand before holding yourself out to the public as a professional packer for hire. Based on your statements I wouldn't let you pack an over night bag let alone a parachute. Your a great example of what is wrong with a lot of paid packers these day's. The blocks are just to help you fit it to your head,left and right, front and back, not the camera line up. Take some small styrofoam squares and shape them to fit your head in the helmit shell, once you have the fit right to your head, then have someone shoot the foam, but remember to wrap your head. As for foam I have used a couple of kinds and they all worked fine. Best thing about my hanson helmit was, SELLING IT! P.O.S. deathtrap IMHO. Love my FTP.

Hey, I just thought of something. You can get a small amp about the size of a ipod, called a "rockman" at a music store, there for jam'n on your E.guitar when you only want hear yourself on the headphones, it has volume and and gain control.
