For a dollar 95 @ Jo Ann's fabrics you can get you a seam ripper and learn to use it, there is your "pattern maker" you can pick the stiches of any canpoy you want a pattern for and there you go instance pattern. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

You could always use them to make a quilt out of um if you have enough and save them that way. It's a hard thing to do to put down your dog, I had to do that for my 15 yr old best friend but as much as it hurt, she was hurting more and it was the right thing to do, but very hard thing to do none the less. Are you saying you would jump a 23ft tri con with a diaper installed on it in a wart or a pig? Just wondering how many oldtimers if you still able to use "that stuff" would use this canopy with a diaper installed? I have been taking a unoffical poll and so far the poll is split 50-50. Gee, John I thought talking about packing and using 20 & 30 & 40 plus year old canopies main & reserves and harness & container systems was right on topic with this thread, if you see in the post your talking about I said the use of those parachutes that "they have NOT blown up YET!" and these rigs are used "regularly" each year. Hey I'm not in the loft and I'm going by memory and with 22 paracomanders of all colors and DOM's it get's a little tough at this age (as you know) to remember all the DOM's we have, however I assure you we have a number of early 60's PC's, two of them are in the team RWB colors and I have been told they are U.S. team canopies, they have the white apex in them made out of ripstop not tafata, but IDK if that is true. Anyway so that makes them 42 yrs old then as these two are the ones I remember being very early in the 60's and they don't blow up on deployment, yet. I have been trying to get more detailed photos of the whole collection together,but it taking me sometime to do as I have not been to the dz much this year due to travels. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

If you have a CC while riding thru the snivel of your opening, then you fucked up before you tossed the PC by not clearing your airspace first! While that sucks ass that your 4yrs working to build this is messed up now, but your name is the "roming DZ" so it sounds like to me you need to get back to roming around, ya can't tell me that in sounthern GA that you can't find another more skydiver friendly city to host your event. How-a-bout Americus or Unadilla, Hawkinsville, Eastman, Fort Valley etc.? I have four 44 year old (1962) paracomanders that survived live "test drops" a couple times a year, they always work too. With that said you all will be the second ones to learn if a conopy blows up's. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

While I didn't know Al well and in fact only got to meet him in May, I did get to eat lunch with him and Sparky. Me and Sparky sat down to eat and up walked Al, Sparky went to interduce me to him and I stood up and said, Al Frisby and interduced myself, I already knew who it as from old photos, it was a great lunch and I enjoyed getting to visit with him and share a few cold ones at the pool side bar later that evening.
