  1. Shit happends Why, your rigger can't put them in? some of the newer style D-bags don't have locking gromets on them. That would only leave the one for the bridal and if your rigger can't install one for you so you can jump, you might want to find another rigger! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. So dose a $2.50 to $3.50 photocell "cameye" you can get all the parts at radio shack to build one, we used them for many years before the fancy factory build one came on the market, keeps you from having to record your hand and mirror while you look for your rec light. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  4. There is two close by, Star Id, or Medrian Id, check the phone book or the DZ list located on here. I've been to both, Star is my pick out if the two for view, but Medrian is easier to get to, right off the highway. It's been a few years. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. Do ya think old Ryan has been hittin the crack pipe filled with some of that suburbia Peachtree Cty crack or that regular old Blair Village ghetto crack? I lean towards that Peachtree City crack, that's the only place he could get some shit as good as what ever he is on! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. They work fine and I like them, but I we got rid of the one we had a couple years ago, so it's been back to the 31-15 for all my work needs. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. A DZO's kid. No There have been a number ask and they were turned down, we do allow 16 years old to do S/L with both parents consent. It's called back dating. That is correct he did not, others did. Nor have I publicly named anyone. As Andyman just posted about the bigway org. doing other types of "bad form moves", Andy did you voice your thoughts with Mr. Wright after you saw him doing so or did you say anything to the DZO or S&TA? If so why did it take someone getting a broken back to get him to stop, or did the actions not stop after the hurt person was carried off the LZ? It seems to me everyone wants self policing, but not to many people have the balls to speak up and call bullshit on some people because of who they are or are willing to turn a blind eye because the "big name" person is one of the "cool kids" or the hotshit skydiver above the rules everyone else is expected to follow. Again where do we draw the line? It would seem once someone go's in, we all stand back and a say "why didn't anyone stop asshat" "I can't believe Danny page would did that" OR "I'm not surprised DP just killed someone, he was an accident waiting to happen" yet no one had the balls to speak up or go public to warn others at risk of anothers actions. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. angry ,Yea ok, if you say so. The first rule in defense is, if you can't defend the facts or proof, go on & attack the messenger and try to shift the blame away form those who are the fuck ups. (no surprise there) I asked a legit question about two factual events, one a big way organizer who swoops past the beer line twice and second a higher profile person busting a BSR they are charged to uphold as well as to teach others to follow, and asking if we should or should not hold them to the same standards when holding ones self out to the skydiving industry as a leader. I see in this thread people calling for the big way org. to be called out in public and in away black balled for two bad swoops and acting like an ass. Asking for him to be named is kind of like saying "tar & feather" the dude and run him out of town on a rail. So where do we draw the line? Who do we hold to the standards already set? You guys seem so quick to pounce on Mr. Wright and say he should "lead by example" & has a "responsibility to follow the rules" and I'm asking you and the rest of the posters here, if you agree or disagree with applying the rules across the board regardless of the name of the person when they truly have a "responsibility to follow the rules" by the very offices and ratings they hold and having those ratings (S&TA) that puts them in a position to be "leading by example". Yea I have gone thru some clouds or gotten open lower then I should have before, and I have been busted by the DZO & S&TA and even the FAA for it. However that is a far cry from knowingly and willingly submitting falsified paper work after taking an underage child on a skydive while holding a high level USPA position to try to cover up the fact that you knowingly broke a BSR's by trying to ask if it is ok after the jump. So we are going to hold Mr. wright to a higher standard then everyone else, such as sitting BOD members, because he is a high profile event org. and can't swoop worth a shit and don't buy his beer when he busted the beer line.? (not quite busting a BSR's is it) Your reply to my honest question seems to imply a double standard, one set of standards for some and another set of standards for the rest. You can't have it both ways! You can call me all the names you want too and try to say I'm thread driffting, but are we not talking about inappropriate actions of industry leaders, oh I see we can only point the finger of blame at bigway org's for a beer line bust, but not talk about the actions of other high profile industry leaders and ask if we should have the same expections of our leaders across the board, sure sounds like a double standard to me. To the OP, did you voice you concern to the DZ S&TA or to Mr. Wright in person or to the DZO and voice your thoughts after the first beer line bust? If not why not? Do you expect only the DZO or S&TA to speak up? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. So could we say the same thing about a dropzone manger who hires out as a TDM course director and AFF, IAD, S/L, Coach course director and is a S&TA and serves as a member of the USPA safety & training committee and is also a regional director, that decides to take a underage tandem passenger and then back dates (falsifed) the applaction for the waver to the BSR's on age after the fact? I mean after all is this not the person in charge of applying the BSR's as the dz S&TA and also part of his job as a sitting BOD member and chair of the S&T commitee, they are the ones who make up the rules, are they not? Is this what we as USPA members think is "leading by example"? Is this the type of "responsibility to follow the rules" we want to keep in office and running the show on a regional level and having the power to enforce the rules as he sees fit, on the rest of us, all the while picking and choosing the rules that apply to him at will? To try to defend these actions by a sitting BOD member with so many acronyms who clearly understands and knows the BSR's by rising to such a high level with in the USPA but yet willingly violates the very rules he is intrusted with upholding, would be "hypocritial" would it not? If were going to make a big stink about Guy Wright swooping past the beer line and calling him a jerk off for doing so and setting a bad example, then let's take it all the way to the top and start cleaning house with those at the top level and work our way down to the bottom, NOT start at the bottom and work our way up! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  11. (sarcasm) Oh you too. I think we should just toss out the rulebook (SIMS) it should be a free for all. If you want to do camera jumps with 3 jumps go for it, wingsuit @ 20 jumps have at it, I don't know why we even waste the time and money to get a license or ratings in the first place or be forced to join a org. that clearly looks out for the "insiders". No but really there seems to be those who feel the BSR's or FAR's only apply to a select few, but not to them or their buddys. ( Just the rest of us) Maybe their one of the "special peeps". You can seek out all the glory awards and power trip seats, help make up the BSR's those "un-special peeps" are to follow and then do as you please. If someone calls "foulball" on ya, hell you don't even get a slap on the wrist under todays current "in house" clean up service, just a scolding saying be a good boy or girl for 90 days or so and then we'll let you back to handing out the ratings and telling everyone else what they can and can't do, but in the mean time keep on keeping on as before, but be a little more low profile. The sooner everyone else wises up and starts to demand the higher ups do as they were elected or issued ratings to do and enforce the current rules when people get busted, that would be the BOD, Safety & training commitee, RD's, DZO's,IE's, CD's S&TA's, & instructors then it will be easier for everyone to speak up and say that is bullshit dude your not jumping____________________ what ever here with XXXX jumps or busting the BSR's cuz your a well liked "special one". Or we can all just say fuck it and stick your friken rulebook where the sun don't shine, after all if only a few people are required to follow the BSR's and the "special one's" can do as they please, then everyone should be able to do whatever they want to do as well, right? Nothing worse then when those in charge of deciding what the minimum requirements are in the book are the ones who decide to pick and choose what one apply to them (like age requirements or wavers and the like) and yet enforce all the minimum requirements and other standards on the rest of us as they see fit. I vote for the free for all, just don't bust the FAR's, they are law and that will keep the FAA off our backs. Other wise do whatever the hell you want to do and tell people who butt in to mind their business! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. Well if he don't know, that is the same type of rig I need a R.C. for that you & I talked about couple weeks ago, so I can always pass along the info. I just haven't measured it yet. I was going to cheat and temp pin one of the other two rigs I have and measure one of those, I know they are orginal old stock if not factory made. I use to get all my custom ones made from jumpshack and they do a great job and at a good price too, but I did get a better offer a few weeks back from a cool old schooler out on the left coast. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. Proven durability over a long period of time when other brands fail to meet or exceed the life of a sony camera, sony is a brand you can count on to stand up to the demanding environments and abuse of skydiving way better other brands on the market. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  16. Nothing, as long as it is strong enough to hold in a crash. What's wrong with using canned footage for T.O. and alti shots and other "fillers" leaving only the pre jump interview, one or two shots of their face in the plane, the jump, landing, post interview. I haven't shot a take off in a longtime, I have a number of nice ones I use as canned footage. If I go to a dz where they don't have "house" editing system and I don't haul mine with me, then I might shoot T.O. and do it as I posted above, with my helmet strapped to my chest strap, via the bone or the built in "granny strap" for the video camera and I use the strap of the camera wrapped around my hand so the camera can't go flying free. I don't like to use seat belts to hold the helmet in tightly packed AC's because I don't want others sitting on, bumping, stepping on, my cameras or sight, with it attached to my chest strap by the bone (I do it that way 90% of time) the helmet is upside down with the cameras resting in my lap and I can protect it from the movements of others. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. Just make sure you get video to share with us and have fun between calls.
  18. Well seeing how you don't have the choice of what I do, and have done at SDA in the past, that is I use the nylon strap that is used to help hold down my video camera (or use the bone of my FTP), is attached to my chest strap in order to keep my helmet and still camera from flying around the cabin and I hold my PC 100 in my hand using a the strap to keep the camera from flying about the cabin & I film the T.O. if doing a TDM or AFF, other jumps the video stays mounted to the helmet and the helmet is on my chest strap via the bone. I have done both types of securing in that K.A. with the owner at the wheel, no problem. I have also been to a dz this summer where the dude running the show is a BOD member on the S&T commitee and is the DZ's S&TA and the regional D as well, and was sitting right next to all the camera guys who didn't bother to strap their camera helmets on the head or to a seat belt or to the chest strap, or any other means of securing them, they held them up to film out the windows ( FTP's with stills and trv's), so I guess it all depends on where you jump as to the rules that are followed. Steal the airhorn off one of the trucks and wire it to an alarm in the dorm area and set the clocks alarm to sound at 5am. 24. Yes but sometimes (in my field) you can aim the infer-red at the cam, or I should say the cam can't see it. I'm using RCA's over 2.5's, but same deal, as you know. Well I have been using the same blow switch for damn like 8 years now and I'm still using the same N3 for 4 or 5 yrs now. You need to take better care of your equipment dude...... Not to say I haven't had to rewire or fix a short once and a while, I have been known to travel with an iron. Anyway have fun cutting up your 75.00 dollar remote trigger. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  25. That is how I have mine set up too, it is very handy for other uses outside of jumping and I have the remote wired so I can use it on the tripod and stand away for shots where I need to be a few feet away. When you have the time it might be worth the time to fix the old one for a spare. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
