Canadian Politicial heading to USA for Heart Surgery
Rstanley0312 replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
Contrary to what is read in the blogs, about 40% of Canadians do like you guys. Awesome... everytime I head north everyone is really friendly. Unless we head in to those "french" provinces Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Finally "no open carry" at some businesses
Rstanley0312 replied to georgerussia's topic in Speakers Corner
Easy. The jury of your peers would decide if you were negligent (and therefore guilty), or you took all reasonable steps to secure your guns from criminals, and therefore not guilty :) Any jury that would find me guilty of any wrong doing for this is F'd! I could see it happen in California.... possibly the only place in the US. I was not asking about a jury of my peers I was asking you to answer the question and you did. It gave me way more perspective on you. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Rstanley0312 replied to georgerussia's topic in Speakers Corner
As I said, I had no idea it was actually "protest". If you look through comments, pretty much nobody else seen it as "protest" either as it wasn't obvious what they protest against. Why? Another place may have another one. Much easier to ask those open carriers with unloaded guns to drop them on the floor (and shot them if they don't). Really? It is the same thing as an ADT sign in your front lawn. You don't even need the security system just that sign and it does wonders. If you walk in to rob a place and you see a guy with a gun you are telling me that it might make a guy think... lets do this some place else? My point is that carrying a loaded gun at least makes sense "to protect themselves". Carrying unloaded gun? No really different than carrying a strap-on - just to seek attention. Not true... although I see it as much slower it is still beter than nothing at all and if you train that way it is still an option. It may be, or may be not, depending on how well you secured your guns. For example, having them on a table near the window with an open window is a good example of such negligence. Note that there are cases where the law punishes the victim for not being negligent enough to protect their possessions, even if the possessions got stolen by means of crime (for example, health or financial information). Holy shit you actually said it... unreal. If someone breaks in to my LOCKED home and steals my gun.... that is NOT my fault in any way! You have got to be kidding me...... are you serious? I really should not be shocked... that is a liberal resonse. I suppose if someone broke in my locked house and commited a crime with the gun they stole I should be held responsible right? Really? I don't care if there is a spot light on the gun in my front window.... it is still NOT my fault in any way. Now I obviously do not put a spot light on my guns in windows but I used to leave them on the top of my night stand. We do not watch TV at all; we do not even have it. You can post some relevant news articles. Please find something recent (like past six months or so). oops I meant to attach a link http://www.keepandbeararms.com/ Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Different items require different level of security depending on their potential. "Reasonable security" would mean completely different thing if we're talking about nuclear storage facility or shoes storage facility. I haven't heard yet of any violent crimes committed by criminals with stolen skydiving rigs. Ok.... so you break in to my house and steal one of my guns..... that is my fault? There was quite a bunch of references to crimes committed by various nutjobs with guns just in Jan 2010. So far I haven't seen a single recent situation where "a gun owner saved them because of some thug coming in to rob this place". The data speaks for itself. Plenty of stories here and elsewhere. You just don't hear about it that much because most of tv news is liberal. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Then it's the different case - those "protesters" open carry unloaded guns with ammo stored separately. No surprise as "law-abiding gun owners" provide criminals with like 300K weapons each year by being negligent enough to let them being stolen. So George... if I break in to your house and steal your rig you "let" me steal it?? Ok I see it that would def. be your fault..... what? If I could only carry with a mag loaded and an empty gun I still would. I would just be practicing a lot differently. Like your link to the huff post? Diff is, you by that Nazis BS, I use the satire as a general reference as to how RWers are, this thread illustrates that. You falling all over Beck would be like me falling all over Al Franken, which I don't and you do. See, I fall all over teh issues, RWers fall all over the pundits. Finally "no open carry" at some businesses

A majority of Richmond population (40%) are blacks, so they have no issues with citizenship or so. Those of them who work are very likely to be union as well (and the majority of those who don't is likely to be on welfare - it's a relatively poor city). Just this 40% almost matches the whole San Ramon population. From what I've read, blacks tend to be pretty much politically active here in CA, hence was my question. Do you open carry an unloaded gun (as those "protesters" do), or do you carry your regular loaded gun? This is a good question. The only problem is that such situations seems to be extremely rare. Local reports suggest that at least some gun owners are only concerned about themselves, so the situation you describe looks quite unrealistic. On the other side, we have all those crimes committed when yet another gun owner went crazy and started shooting others (or into air) - and the number of such crimes seems to be much larger than the number of situations where an armed gun owner saved " those that are against guns or open carry". I carry loaded with a round chambered! The only way to carry in my opinion. "yet another gun owner" love this statement..... many crimes with guns are by PEOPLE who have weapons unlawfully. Finally "no open carry" at some businesses
Rstanley0312 replied to georgerussia's topic in Speakers Corner
To recall some history, just a few month ago I likely wouldn't care. That's gun nuts who changed me that way. I wonder how many of those who now disapprove their actions (did you read the comments?) didn't really care a few months ago either? There is a obvious line between reasonable protesting and being grossly rude. A gay couple dressing up as a priest with attached strap-on and underage teen playing up sexual activity might also have been making a political statement protesting against increase in pedophilia in churches. But doing so inside a family church on Sunday would be just as gross as brandishing your unloaded guns in front of moms with kids. Richmond population is 99,216 (2000) San Ramon population is 44,722 (2000) Are you sure there are substantially fewer voters in Richmond? Most likely yes..... population does not = amount of voters. I have my CCW and I do on occasion open carry. I have never had anyone scoff at it nor complain. Most cops just give me the "nod". I train with my weapon every week like a majority of those who open carry or have their CCW. Guns are NOT anti family in any way. It is actually a way I protect my family. I wonder how those that are against guns or open carry would feel if they were in a situation that a gun owner saved them because of some thug coming in to rob this place. George your post is like many of your previous posts.... out there..... Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. I'm sure there are lot's of great suits available out there. In reality, most suits only see a couple hundered jumps at best, so the ability to last for 1000 jumps might not be all that important. Either way, Flite Suit always takes good care of me, and their products have always exceeded my expectations, so I support their business and reccomend them to anyone looking for a suit. I do the same for PD canopies and Infinity containers. Great people and great products all around. Ya I'm the same way...... with Vector, Cypres, Icarus, and LS suits. Although I have to say that Icarus and customer service do not really go hand in hand but I think they are working on it. I do love my xfire though! Just something to keep in mind, I have a Flite Suit that I still jump that I have owned longer than any of those other companies have been in business. Dave... that is a good point and I know other jumpers that have some old Flight Suits that still look great. This just makes me feel even better about my LS suit because comparing them the LS suit seems to be built even better. Where do you jump? Every DZ I have been to I see these brands. Anyway...... check them all out and see what fits your taste. Then what is the comfort for when you are going to be passing out anyway? I say tent it and spend the money on the alcohol!! I did rent an RV to go to Summerfest this year but that's bc I brought the woman. Good call bc we got one hell of a rain storm that washed out tents and we were quite cozy. She also did her first 2 skydives
