I've known a few guys that did that as well. That is actually suggested by "experts". I just stopped cold and went to the fake stuff but I used "hooch". I will be honest none of it tastes even close to that cowboy candy you love so much but it will help. i've 'admitted' that men are more criminal than women. that is why more are in prison. you will find this a recurrent theme in human history. blacks, however are not more criminal than whites - so what is distorting the prison figures? I just have to say it...... Bill has literally destroyed you on this debate and holy shit is it entertaining! I'm still waiting for you to acknowledge many of his points instead of just tip toeing around them. I am on day 119 of my quit from dip. It is not easy at all. I did get some "hooch" its fake dip with no nicotine and no tobacco and it helped me. It is not even close to the real stuff but it helped me when I was around friends that dipped. I would throw one of those in and it made it easier. For some thought it makes them want the real stuff even more. I told my fiancee, friends, everyone at the DZ so I could be held accountable. I also took it one step at a time and posted on a website everyday of other guys quitting. Quitting dip is 10x harder than smoking... it is way more nicotine so screw anyone that makes it sound easy. Hang in there and let me know if I can do anything to help. The website of the quit site is below. http://forum.qssn.org/index.php?s=31818d56b857a89b6358b23282d8ac7e&act=idx Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Dude - only a couple of weeks ago you started a thread called "Do experienced jumpers hate new jumpers?". Things are starting to add up. Hey .... he probably just got to the point that he can dive the door stable. Don't rip on him... he has mad skillz Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. I agree with most of what you said. It is kind of funny really. The coach rating allows us to do things a JJM could not do with the same amount of jumps and vice versa. Some going through the coach program are ready but I agree most are not. I think it is funny that those of us with the skills and the ability to teach a class cannot throw out a student on a static line/IAD. There should be training for a static instructor but I think it should be easier to progress towards learning to be an SLI and there should be more requirements to get a coach. I feel I was ready and I am happy I was able to progress with my coach rating at 100 jumps but I really do see the need to change requirements. I have been going up with I's and learning static teaching and the responsibilities of it all so I can be very prepared for my static course later this year. As a noob to the sport I can honestly say that the current system seems backwards and the way certain groups were grandfathered but not as "coaches" is just odd to me. The fact that you Wes would not be blows my mind. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Phantm jumpsuits are a scam - DON'T ORDER ONE!!
Rstanley0312 replied to k-dubjumps's topic in The Bonfire
+1. Jumpsuits are the biggest pain in the ass (and one of the smallest profit margins) for gear dealers. Having spent a few years selling gear and having cut jumpsuits and run a jumpsuit production line for a year, I wouldn't buy a jumpsuit from any company that I can't reasonably get to in person to be measured and to be able to handle any problems/issues face to face. Especially one with a bunch of custom appliques and/or embroidery. And regardless of who you order it from, expect and plan for problems. Ordering a custom item and needing it to arrive on the estimated delivery date so you can take it to an event is just asking for it to not arrive on time, or not fit, or be the wrong colors or... Well my Liquid Sky suit is sweet and extremely well made. The customer service was excellent from beginning to end and I would not hesitate to buy another from them. It was also finished in a couple of weeks so I could rock it for the last Richmond Boogie! QuoteBride to be is on my ass to get this done. I need to pick a song for my mother and I to dance during the wedding reception. I want to get a few options ready for my mother to listen to so we can make a decision. Thanks ----------------------------------------------------- for the love of GOD do NOT choose 'Butterfly kisses'... that song is used at 75% of all weddings for one of the parental dances. I DJ'd in college and did many a wedding.... I wanted to rip my eyes out every time I heard that song. Sorry if anyone did use that song at their wedding. Yes, not only are the drunk, they are drunken gamblers. Like my little brother at the casino. He blows his $100 (thankfully he is not a BIG gambler), then comes asking me for a $20. He thinks just one more $20 bill and he will make everything good. Cutting losses does not exist for these people; it is always either win it all or go flat broke trying. I work in the investment world and play a lot of options so for me the concept of "cutting losses" was burned in to my head real quick. I also learned not to play with money I cannot lose. On the note of credit cards or borrowing money..... if I cannot pay it off that month I do not spend it! That line kind of says it all; but based on the level of consumer debt out there, I'd say the concept does not register with at least the simple majority of citizens. Extending that thought, if some critical mass of people as individuals no longer value or practice fiscal responsibility, why would we expect them to demand it of those administering our government spending. Kind of becomes a chicken and egg thing. Did the public become drunken spenders because, what the heck, that is what the government does? Or did the government become a drunken spender because, what the heck, that is how people behave? Agreed. It is not a hard concept to grasp though. We are a nation of a "we deserve it and we deserve it now" mentality. Those damn Knights Templar had to go and invent loans and credit and BAM... this is where we are today. here's your problem - "effective" does NOT mean benefit to the people or fixes a problem or generates income "effective" only means it's a good PR clip that makes people feel (good/validated/vengeful/etc) enough to create votes for Congresscritters So true.... and sad Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. I also jump a Wonderhog and a Vector II. That doesn't get entered into the equation does it. There are people who have never seen my Racers and others who haven't seen me under a square parachute. I am not a die hard Racer fan like you are making me out. I just want real information before coming to a conclusion. Beatnik I think this warrents a post to you. I did not mean for it to sound like I was only refering to you. I was more refering to PM's I have received. Sorry I did not mention that. I don't know if that's true or not, and I don't speak for Jim, but what I take away from his (Beatnik's) postings is that he would like to see data derived from an empirical study of the full range of pilot chute dynamics and aerodynamics. It might be a matter of scrutinizing minutiae, but as there are fatalities (even if statistically few) associated with poor reserve PC deployment and freebag extraction I think it's a valid point for research. Who wouldn't? The problem is there is no-one or organization that is going to conduct such a study. It's expensive and the results might be negative toward manufacturers. Jim is a connoisseur of vintage gear. Did you notice the other rigs mentioned in his profile? Did you notice they're listed before the Racer? Do you know he jumps the old stuff more than anyone or any of his other gear? Have you noticed Racers are not part of this PC issue? Have you ever jumped a Racer? Inspected a Racer? The V3 is a good rig, but did you buy for style or function? I bought for function and comfort. It has nothing to do with how the Vector looks. Does it look better than a Racer? I do not even have to answer that do I? I just noticed the "newer" rig is a racer so that's why I said he jumps a racer. I have also recived PM's from Racer folks basically saying my Vector is a death trap. Not from Beatnik so I'm sorry if it seemed I was just refering to him bc I was not. He is at least discussing everything he just happens to jump a racer also so my apologies for that. P.s. yes I have jumped a racer. Thats funny coming from someone putting so many feelings in the same argument. Its clear you have something against Vector and/or Bill. Then he put this Then you argue every point but that Your really good at arguing just for the sake of it! and he jumps a Racer.... its seems like this is just coming from the Racer folks. Just an observation. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Muff Brother #4382 Dudeist Skydiver #000 www.fundraiseadventure.com

...and on the other hand~ I've cleared a line-over twice with a hook knife. Once on a demo that I absolutely did NOT want to land under a round reserve unless there was no other option. The second time under a square reserve that would have planted me had I not cut the line. ~just sayin', it CAN be done. It is AMAZING what you can do with the proper motivation What are you doing discussing skydiving.... go back to SC stirring that pot totally kidding Jeanne I like seeing comments from you in the skydiving threads.
