No I don't you are skewing the facts. This is a slanted opinion pole nothing more. You can think all of those countries are better but I bet my bank account that if you needed heart surgery you would be working with a US doctor and not only bc you live here bc a hell of a lot of people from those countries that are so "great" come here for treatment. One simple fact "Previous reports by the nonprofit Fund, which conducts research into healthcare performance and which promotes changes in the U.S. system, have been heavily used by policymakers and politicians pressing for healthcare reform." So you are telling me this study did not have a bias? Policymakers reformed NASA following the commission report on the Challenger disaster. Did that make the Presidential Commission that wrote the report "biased"? Policymakers reformed rules on the use of DDT following reports of its adverse effects on wildlife. Did that make those reports "biased"? Policymakers reformed rules on the testing of drugs following reports on the Thalidomide tragedy. Di that make those reports "biased"? No doubt policymakers will reform oil drilling regulations following the various reports to be forthcoming on the BP disaster. Will make the reports "biased"? There is a total absence of logic behind your question. Yes it did and it was a bias that was warrented by DDT's effects, the Challenger blowing up, etc. this is a bit different. I think you got a few things confused here A few HD cameras have a backfly/sitfly problem (not so much headdown), but a HC3 is not one of those and even if it was a lens would do nothing to alleviate that particular problem. Anyway the HD lens line-up has been discussed here a good number of times already, with pros and cons for each even listed next to each other, if you look a little. I did a search but could not find specifics.... I will try again. I was told it did have that problem. I am new to the camera scene but I am very excited about it! Thanks for the tips. Yeah, why not just put a crappy SD lens on a nice HD camera.... I ended up getting a great deal on a HC3 full set up. It has some weight to it but from what I hear it is a solid camera. Back to the lense situation. I need one not only for good video but also bc I understand that it is good for protection and to keep the "shutter" open when back flying or flying head down. "making it sound like experience is generally a bad thing" wow, you just completely swung a strike now didn't you? you dork - the whole thread is about putting out those rare exceptions and laughing at ourselves and our stubborn types that won't learn new tricks = sometimes as a real detriment to teaching the pups experience says we can 'learn' from this discussion but if your pride is hurt, I'll buy you a beer so far - a bunch of people with at least 2000 jumps putting out decent examples, one newbie asking a question and getting decent answers, and you with a sore butt from the topic.......who do you think missed the intent of the thread???? This pup appreciates this thread bc I learned something from it. I just hope I will continue to learn and not get stuck in my ways. I'd like to think that's what I will do but it is easy to fall in to that trap the more experience one gains. Still..... experience is priceless! Thanks everyone! I wondered if I needed to go wider for freefly. Well right now I am more looking for an all around lens. I'm not turning crazy VFS points (yet) ;) so I will just get another lens when it is needed. I appreciate the help everyone. If I am looking for a .45 wide anlge lens for my cx110 where is the best place to look. Anyone have any advice on this or if I should perhaps use a different lens? Using this for tandems but I also want to use it for freefly fun vids. Any advice would help Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Cool.... thanks for all of the input everyone. I was under the assumption speed would help out but thinking about everything that has been said it makes more sense to just let it fly. I come in double fronts or w/a 90 front riser. Good input though.... that could be really bad if it was not practiced up high first and been done when conditions are good. Agreed. Flight-1 canopy courses teach participants to fly in full flight through turbulence. With altitude thats what I do I am talking about landing. If it is turbulant lower I do a normal pattern and come in double fronts for speed. Not a good idea? For newer canopy models, I'm not certain (full flight vs inducing extra speed with fronts while in the turb air) which is safer - I'd take it to the canopy forum or look up some of Brian's articles to clarify that distinction. I'm a 4way guy, not a canopy guy. But if you have an older canopy like a Maverick or Pegasus, then quarter brakes is appropriate and fronts is a mistake...... So it depends on the canopy. For my Stiletto, I like to do a long smooth front turn and then let it fly through the turbulence without the extra if I know it's down there ahead of time - but that's a special case. Otherwise, if I'm caught in turb, I just let it fly and minimize any inputs to no more than needed just to keep it on track. What on earch gave you that idea? This is a 125B company, with a net income of 20B last year. +1 their cashflow is unreal! I'm waiting to guess a bottom to buy the stock at the deal of my lifetime! For some reason I remember Brian Germain teaching that..... or am I just wrong? Maybe he taught not to do that? I give a little front risers in turbulence. Is that okay? speed is your friend for many of the newer canopies partial brakes was a correct response on older 7 cells to help open the nose for more inflation - newer canopies appreciate more speed over inlet angle - someone help me with this one - I don't think I'm explaining as clearly as it's needed Wendy - the brakes thing I still see taught (incorrectly for most canopies) today. The suit thing not so much. nice ones So inducing more speed via front risers is correct? I get what you are saying and actually I think that is exactly what Brian says about modern canopies. I have a bulldog so she overheats really easily so in the summer months she just stays home with my other dog a muti poo yorkie aka rat. I would never bring that dog to the dz. I tried to teach the bulldog about lines but it just would not take. I have had her sit on my rig and act as a packing weight though.... at the house that is. An instructor at my dz has a dog named Icarus and I have never seen anyhting like this dog. He tells Icarus "canopies" or "parachutes" and the dogs stay away and if they do happen to come over the gogs literally tip toe between lines. It is pretty impressive. My dog comes sometimes but I will have her leashed or crated if I am in the air. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Poor Tracking Skills in Europe ??

Never made the claim to be one - jump to conclusions, much? Certainly, starting way back on my 5th or 6th jump in AFF and since then, just for fun. But that's how we roll in the States. Again, jump to conclusions much? oh yes, u're the expert for separation, i read it all over here in this thread! oh, you mean you got unstable on your AFF, yea, that's how you roll in the states.. Easy VB..... that's not how I roll and as you know we in the States are just AWESOME... at least I am.... Poor Tracking Skills in Europe ??
Rstanley0312 replied to kkeenan's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
we have one of those guys at the DZ also - not including many of the freeflyers that seem to track like that they tell me they do it "on purpose" to generate speed...... In my limited experience I have watched many freeflyers track excellent and they are often organizing fun tracking dives. all w/out booties Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it.
