Here we go again..... this is the second time in recent history when I get to say..... Bill I totally agree with you and the post I'm replying to sounds a little "right" for you This move is not a good one in my opinion. All it does is say F#*k you to someone we owe a lot of money to but it also is going to hurt our ability to sell goods in the long run. this is the kind of thinking that gets us in more trouboe and what has turned the unions in to what they are today. The problem for me is free trade. To me to have free trade there should not be government interference....BUT..there also has to be FAIR trade for that to work. If you have a country that unfairly keeps their currency controlled and and undervalued all out of proportion to market forces you do not have a scenario that can be seen as free OR fair trade. Also to have free and fair trade you can not have a government providing subsidies to their companies which destroys other countries companies abilities to compete fairly. Ah yes but then again I have to point out.... there is NO such thing as "fair". Nothing in life is fair..... nothing. From a market standpoint China has seriously been keeping their currency low but it is a strategic move on their part. I know the unions are very excited about this but I am not sure they understand it fully. Wendy very good points and Bill I think you are right. I am not sure we are in a position to do something like this and I fear the negative will outweigh the positive. I sincerely apologize for referencing the DJIA data; what I read. WHat's that, the market come out of teh cellar and rise to 11k while you're in denial? Yep, you are right. If volume is low and teh market is rising, that means fewer people are selling. Great point, people have confidence in the market since your Nazi left. Like I said, hang in long enough and you, the stopped clock will once again be right. FAIL You once again show your lack of knowledge in the market..... insider trading numbers recently were 1 buy to 1000+ sell positions. What the volume means is that "peons" are trading on emotion and that is all that is happening but those same "peons" will pull out their money in a heart beat to take their profit. Big money keeps a market stable the people who are buying now do not. Like I said a million times already though.... I love the capitulation in the market because I am a trader. The more movement the better so I guess you could say I like what the current admin. has done for my bank account but I do not like what it has done for the countries! Oh and what I said was right on.... "flash crash" happened and the market is far from stable. We have been told that there are protections now.... riiight that is why a $33 stock on the Nasdaq dropped to $3 yesterday in a matter of seconds. Your problem Luckste,r is you only know what you read from the media and what the Dow currently reports.... which is to infer you know jack and shit but oops, it seems jack left town. Once again..... this market is far from stable. Things could be done to get it there but they are not being done. Regardless of where the DOW is.... when you are in an environment that has 100 point swings daily that is simply not good. That is why I agreed that there is a degree of luck involved but this idea of anyone being able to be the best or make the money the top 1% make is insane by the very definition of the word. Athletics at the elite level does have the genetic discrimination, but in this day, few if any can win without putting in a level effort few of us could undertake. There are now plenty of gifted athletes competing, so that advantage doesn't do it alone anymore. Take Jerry Rice - I doubt he was the most gifted of wide receivers, but he was renowned for his off season workouts, which allowed him to recover from the knee injury and play till he was 38. This is untrue and especially in auto racing where luck plays an enormous part of who does or doesn't get tangled up in an accident through no fault of their own. I have heard both arguments for the reserve handle and I know I have not been jumping as long as you guys but it seems like to me that call is all personal and there is no clear cut answer. I think a D ring can cause you to have a bad day but I also think a pillow/pud style handle can as well. I roll with the pillow reserve handle and the D ring cut away personally Seriously though great points on both sides but I do see good and bad to both options. I understand that train of thought but talking to students and remembering myself at 100 jumps I don't think most are ready. I probably would have been fine but every jump a person gets so much more aware and can avoid those collisions or avoid sliding all over the sky. A coach is a must... I totally agree with you about this. The problem I have is some FFers that cannot fly on their belly worth a damn. If an instructor feels a person is there then great but I still just don't think most are ready. It is sad that you think a solid amount of air awareness is not important before you start increasing your speed and orientation. It has nothing to do with "x" it has to do with 100 jumps is not enough to be FF. It is just my opinion and you have yours but I generally tell people a couple hundred is a good starting point. Again, I am not trying to bust your balls just giving you my honest opinion. If you like it keep it, if you don't send it right back. Be safe out there and really make sure your canopies fill the rig well especially the main.
