Um..... well that makes no sense because the vector PC has more drag when inflated so I am not sure how your "test" shows otherwise? I believe her point was the Infinity pc will inflate much quicker due to the mesh bottom. Meaning you will end up with a reserve quicker with such a pc over a one with a nylon bottom that takes longer to inflate and hence longer to pull the reserve out. Ok.... if that's what she meant that makes total sense! I am just getting confused with all of the info in this thread. What the video shows is that you should not try to freefly feet-to-earth during reserve deployment. I apreciate the video that was posted. I think it is important to know all of this. What I do not understand is why we are just seeing this when the video is dated 1991? I would think if this were shown to the FAA that they would gound said rig right away. The FAA is not an entity to really take their time to act as far as this kind of stuff goes. I am still concerned by what the video shows. I even pulled my handles which worked great and pulled my reserve which also worked great and pulled from the container with ease. Yes I have a Vector III and just did all of this with my rigger. I also wonder about the drag the pilot chute creates. It seems that the vector reserve pilot chute actually has a much higher drag then the mesh pilot chutes it just has to be vertical and not sideways. This is not fact this is more of a question. So is it basically being suggested that Vector is one of the "problem" containers? It is no longer necessary to identify which containers may or may not be a problem. The Advisory alludes to a situation where there may be rigs out there where the reserve will not deploy if the main is still in the container. From the Advisory, it is clear that the vast number of combinations and factors that may contribute to the problem will never yield to simple analysis and data gathering. There are just too many variables to adopt a "wait and see" attitude while the cost of each new data point will likely be someone's life. What we are left with is that any rig that has not be tested and shown capable of a reserve deployment while the main is still packed might have a problem. It really doesn't matter what brand of rig or canopy you have. The only way to know is to do the test and see how your rig performs. This is a lot like the reserve ripcord problem of a few years ago. The problem may be extremely rare, and we might never be able to predict where the problem could occur. But the person who has the problem is likely going to die if it becomes necessary for him to make such a deployment. Testing is pretty inexpensive, and it quite literally could save your life. Well I have a V3 and I pull my handles before repack everytime. Mine is all good but I am still curious as to what brands are being discussed here bc if mine has worked on the ground but there may be an issue it means it could have that issue when it counts despite what it does on the ground. I have heard some jumpers discuss the pilot launch being a lot shorter on a vector if fitted with a skyhook but my rigger told me it has ample launch to deploy the reserve. I am very curious about this but I also get the point that Douglas and others are making. it's fair comment and draws no criticism from you. But when the Dow goes UP over 40% it's just "cyclical". I see . How does it effect the cyclical nature of the market when someone states a fact? It is also a fact that during Obama's time in office the market has been up over 40%...... just facts the market is still cyclical. From what I understand I would not be too concerned about the Flyaway tunnel in Pigeon Forge at all. Also, I would be looking to pull from the states to the north and west more so than the states south of Cincy. I think that the KY jumpers would even pull better to Cincy. I do love Nap town though..... I may be giving up my season Colts tickets this year so I will not be there as much. But the population is much greater in Cincy which oiffsets the slightly less tourist business. Also.... Cinci has the Beach water park as well along with an NFL and MLB team. these factors make Cincy a better spot but I do like the N. KY suggestion to skirt the taxes. This is an issue as I and a business partner have been looking in to building a tunnel in Ohio for some time now. We are looking at the Kings Island area and I agree it is the one place to build it in Ohio. Skydivers dont make tunnels money.... tourists do with the exception of XP. It would need to be a recirc. tunnel for the cold months and you are talking 5-7 mill easy. Right now it is a HUGE gamble with the economy the way it is. I have looked in to detailed numbers with Skyventure and I think it is something we could pull off but right now it is just too risky. C-bus may have some advantage with O.
