so to recap my weekend, cuz ive been to hungover to operate a computer. Friday night me and another jumper went to a rockabilly show, saw some good bands and had a blast. highlight of the night was when one of the two girls that I had been hitting on told me tthat I was only allowed to have one of them.... so of course she was cut. the other was givin bus fare in the morning. (I love living on a major bus route) we got up early on saturday to go jumpimg but it was cold, cloudy and windy, so we spent the day on the couch watching B movies and sleeping off the hangover. Got up around 10pm and went to town. it was definatly drunk out on saturday night but we took an early night because the forcast for sunday was blue skys and no winds. got up around noon today, headed to the dropzone and did a few jumps had some beers and headed back to town. dropped my buddy off with his work crew as they are heading out of town fo wrk and went to my favorite pub. had a nice quite nihjt of pints with some good buddies. the night was going well until about 5 minutes till last call when the biggest bar brawl I have ever seen erupted. It was literaly like "everybody hit somebody" stools, tables, and bodies where flying! oncethe chaos settled I was back at the bar with a couple of beers, a couple of black eyes, a missing hat and a good story to tell. If I have ever seen civil bar brawl, this was it, one on one, if the guy was down, he was done, if the guy was bleeding he was done. No weapons, no getting boot fucked by 5 guys while your down. some well desrved hand shakes after and everyone went home just a little worse for the wear. Tomorrows hangover is going to suck! my face is going to hurt, im going to be tired, and I have a date with my dentist early in the afternoon. I don't know about you, but my sunday was pretty damn exciting. A couple of skydives and an epic bar brawl. Monday on th other hand is going to suck! Ya I guess it kind of is dude. I mean we wear these colorful spandex suits, jump out of planes and make pretty formations while holding hands and dance together in the sky. Then we fly our brightly coloured parachutes down to the ground. After a long night of drinking and being foolish you are now enjoying your great reward. Your head is pounding. Your stomache feels rotten. There are empty beer cans everywhere. You need to come up with a good excuse as to why you didn't go to work today. Drink some water, grab a coffee or maybe another beer. Well for someone like me, starting to get into the next step past double fronts and starting to add a turn to my landings $5 hop n pops sound like a great deal. If im going to go somewhere to jump this winter lodi is definatly #1 on my list for exactly this reason. why would I go somewhere else and pay 3x as much to do the same thing? why would you remove your lip? i dont see it causing any problems. I wear a spike in my lip, usually a 1/2" long. If I wear to take a hit in the face it definatly has the potential to knock out some teeth or at least cut the hell out of my gums. Having taken some direct hits before and cutting my gums to shit I know better than to take that risk again. If my plugs in my ears were to get snagged on something they would definatly rip my lobes off, wear 1/2" machined plugs that have a 13/16" flange on both ends. They are not just going to get pulled out like most tapered plugs might. That is why I usually remove them when jumping, even tho they are covered by my helmet. Ya man,If you have a piercer you know and trust its totally worth the time to go see them. I 've had the same girl for about 5 years, even tho I dont really plan on doing anymore piercings she is the only one I would go to. Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)

Do you remove your piercings when jumping? I occasionally remove my ear piercings when jumping even tho they are covered by my helmet. I never jump with my labret (lip) piercing I remove my nipple piercings when jumping without a shirt. but i have definatly notices the chest strap making contact with them on a few opening. Removing my ear pierings is more of a comfort thing because of how big they are. they can be uncomfortable under a helmet. I would definatly remove them if I wasn't wearing a helmet. I have snagged my ear piercings while flying my power kite. That definatl hurt and had the potential to rip half my ear off. I have heard of peoples earrings being ripped out by risers. I always remove my lip piercing when jumping, and doing almost any other activity where I could take a hit in the face. I dont remove my nose piercings mostly because they are a huge pain in the ass to put in and take out but I imagine if it took a good hit in the nose it would make a mess of me. oh ya, something else to consider when going to a larger size. Will the jewelry fit under your skydiving helmet? With one helmet it drives my piercings into my neck and its veru uncomfortable and with another I can wear them just fine because of the hollows around the ears. just something to keep in mind. Dude.. don't take drugs for piercings. They kill the buzz of adrenaline and endorphines you get after. I would honestly compare the way I feel after getting pierced to the way I feel after doing a jump. When Im getting pierced I take 3 slow deep breaths and as I'm exhaling on the 3rd thats when I get poked, continuing to exhale as they push the needle thru. Works great. Largest piercing ive ever had was a 12gauge. I've heard that larger guages hurt more, whick makes sense. with an 8g you are definatly cutting some skin out whereas a 20g your just making a hole. I find if the person doing the piercing is good at what they do you only have a second of sharp pain, some areas the pain is more intense than others but its usually over pretty quickly. With tattoos I find anyone could deal being stuck by those needles for a second. It's the being poked by those little needle millions of times for hours on end that hurts. Ya 2 months ad one size is a pretty standard progression. Myself I just went a size larger whenever I lost my jewelry. It starts getting exspensive when you get into the larger stuff. Rememer to stretch your lobes yourself by pulling on them, this dose make a huge difference. Sometime you can jump 2 sizes with out having to use a taper to get the jewelry in.
