My friends of Josh and Mike in junir high gave me the nickname vader after I went skateboarding wearing a darth vader helmet in liue of a real helmet. I had the worst bail of my life and smashed the shit out of my face, both eyes swelled shut and a major concussion. Once I got the all clear from the doctor to be active again I went out skating, my face still bruised as hell, 2 of the wrst black eyes you've ever seen. of course I was now wearing a real helmet. I got into a cllision with a guy on a bmx bike and his head smashed into my face.... Both eyes swelled up again..... From then on people began calling me hardcore skater vader = hcsvader Most people in my hometown still call me vader, I don;t really introduce myself as vader very often. I do keep that nickname close to my heart tho because 4 of my close friends who gave me the nickname were killed in a car accident in high school. mike and tom died instantly, matt a week later due to complications from surgery and josh was paralyzedand died a few years later from complications due to paralysis. I have vader embroidered on my new rig and on my license plate. For me its more of a tribute to those friends that I lost than a to let people know that its my nickname. I haven't really celebrated christmas with family in about 5 years. I usually spend it with friends or roomates. The last few years I have been putting up a tree but its a bit different. I put up a tree and decorate it thru out december by hanging empty beer cans on it. Buy a different brand of beer every week so I have different colored cans. I think where you live has a lot to do with how your seen as well. Living in the university area of edmonton, people rarely look twice at me. Living in rural alberta, like I did this summer on the other hand..... Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)

Yes I totally agree that people choose yo have careers where they need to maintain a certain image. I just think its very unfourtunate that people abilities are judged based on thier appearance. I've met many people who feel oppressed because thier line of work requires a certain image. I don't kno whow many times I've had people tell me they couldn't do the thing I do, like ding my hair different colors or having a mohawk, have visible tattoos or facial piercing because they would lose thier job or they think people would judge them because of it. How'd that one feel? how was the healing process? I dated a girl who owned a body modification shop a couple years ago and she had her tounge split. It was so cute listening to her try to talk with a swollen tounge for a about a week after. Haha and once it healed it was definatly something worth experiencing. combine that with the fact that she was also a sword swollower... Thanks for all the support guys! I really appreciate it! Today being the first day since I've decided to quit I really concentrated on reducing the amount i smoke at work. I usualy smoke 1 - 1.5 packs a day lately and today I only had 8 at work. I usually smoke at least a pack (25) at work. I'm going to spend a couple of weeks reducing the amount I smoke before starting the champix. I have to say the hardest part of the day was not smoking on the drive home from work. Im really concentrating on not smoking when I usually do, with coffee after meals, while driving. wasn't very hard to do. helped that they were out of coffee at wrk but that totally dint help with the fact that I only got 3 hours of sleep last night need to remeber to keep a backup can of instant coffee in my lunch kit. I think this is definatly a huge part of it. I chose this time to quit because I will be getting laid off soon and will be taking a long time away from work. I smoke ALOT at work.
