  1. well now I wont feel weird keeping my plates and screws I guess.
  2. Are you sure ? Rook used to put the 182 up as long as there was enough people for a load, and they were willing to do more than one load. Even on weekdays. Although with the current crop of limp-wristed metrosexual skydivers in that area I could see how getting together a full load might be a problem. Rook has mostly been gone with the otters this season.
  3. Did you ever ask him why? That's really what I was wondering. Why the people that choose to keep their staples make that choice.
  4. Fucking A right, Skydive Chicago! Come out to SDC, I'll introduce you to some people who you can jump with. We have a full time (on weekends) r-dub organizer as well as a team who dedicates themselves to jumping with new people. Then on top of that there were almost 40 graduates from last season most of whom seem to be sticking to the r-dub track. Did I mention 2 otters and just added for this season a caravan.
  5. Idk yet. Jury is still out on pins and plates. On one hand it did come out of your body which is gross. But on the other hand it's special hardware designed for bone which is pretty cool. Staples are definately not even cool to keep though. Maybe it's all people who didn't get cool hardware.
  6. Why? Don't know. I just kinda do. I've worn a watch pretty much every day all day except when I'm sleeping since I was in the 7th grade and I actually don't feel right if I don't feel something on my wrist. I guess it's just a habit thing. When I was working I actually went home on lunch once when I forgot my watch just to get it. Same goes for my phone I don't feel right if I can't feel my phone in my pocket.
  7. It's quite obvious I am an attention whore. The circumstances were different here though. The reason I wanted the counselor to feel bad for me is because my GPA was so low I was afraid they may not have let me register in which case I would have no health insurance and would have to pay everything out of pocket. Ps that's the only time I left the house while wearing it. So it's not all about the attention.
  8. because it was sentimental or became such? I was taking pics of my incisions with the staples in today including some with a measuring tape next to them for placement in case I want get staples tattooed. So I enlisted the help of my mom, who was nice enough to drive me to my appointment, to hold the tape while the nurse took a photo. My mom made a comment to the nurse about how she probably thought it was wierd and probably not many people do it to which the nurse replied 'you would be suprised'. Then she said something that kinda grossed me out and is the topic of this thread. She proceeds to say some people like to keep the staples. After she was done pulling them she asked one more time if I wanted to keep them. I of course said no. So that's the question. Have you ever kept something odd because it had some sort of sentimental value to you?
  9. What's a synonym for thesaurus? the similar word book.
  10. Geeze guys, can't people just like wristbands? I have a tendency to need something on my wrist. Watch, rubberband, wristband, something.
  11. Hospital bracelets are good because they make people feel sorry for you. It was the best I could have hoped for when trying to get re registered for school even though I am on academic probation.
  12. Great vid. Such a beautiful view in the sky from Sebastian I wish I didn't have to leave.
  13. Wait until the rice-burner crowd gets their hands on these and start adding air-dams, lowered oversize landing gear, tinted windows, HID landing lights, etc. dont forget the NOS sticker, that adds like 15hp doesnt it 20
  14. 5 months might be a little much but I don't think you are weird like everyone else seems to. I always wear mine for extended periods. I had my boogie bracelet, allergy bracelet, and hospital info bracelet on for like a week after I was out and the boogie was over. I finally took them off, because I got a new hospital bracelet. That also stayed on for roughly a week even though I was in and out in about 2 hours.
  15. At 21 I don't really feel like I've had a standout year yet. I guess if I had to choose though it would be 20. That's when I started skydiving and made a lot of new friends because of it.
  16. I'm surprised you've never heard it before. I have this one in my iTunes library. It's actually a pretty good song.
  17. I think I saw him on discovery too. Didn't they have a show where he rode a bike down the street using echolocation?
  18. I gotta hear the story behind this.
  19. I have a tendency to shrug probably like 5 times before i exit to make sure my leg straps are tight enough. I also do a full gear check at least twice. My instinct to live is pretty powerful.
  20. Me and both my brothers tried to make a swimming pool in the closet.
  21. Eh, that's not really different than what DZ.com is, and I have no desire to compete in that medium. Well there is always the option of doing something similar to this. I'd open this in a new window. Click the lower right corner to go forward.
  22. I know your avatar is small but when I see it all I see is this guy. http://www.tvguide.com/images/pgimg/house-morse47.jpg Any relation?
  23. Dude. Not cool. I realize it's not precisely your point, but: Genetically inherited diseases do sometimes get concentrated within ethnic groups or similar sub-sets due to repeated intra-marriage. Sickle cell anemia is one example. Tay-Sachs disease is another. So is hemophilia. And so is alcoholism. Pointing it out does not necessarily make one bigoted against blacks, Jews, European royalty or Irish. Pointing out the drunk part doesn't. Calling them belligerent does.
  24. I'd be game, but don't know the first thing about publishing. I was thinking the same thing. Website instead of print?
