If you could avoid meeting one person here this year you haven't met yet..
RhondaLea replied to funks's topic in The Bonfire
SOME people are just really bad at stalking. And some people are really, really good. But they're better when they're wearing a tinfoil hat. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb -

Y'know, this brings up something that continues to be an issue for me. I think who starts it really does matter. If someone wants to be an aggressor, that's fine, but no calling foul when the intended victim fights back in an unexpected way. It drives me insane when people say "it takes two." Sometimes that is true, but very often it is not. Sometimes it just takes one screwed-up and abusive person. Self-defense is not a crime. As for humiliating an anonymous person, I can only say that anonymity is usually never exactly that. The person will know if he reads here, and he will also know that there are others who are in on the full story. And that will rankle. Sometimes, it's enough. And under the circumstances, it's fitting. Logical consequences. A taste of one's own medicine. Let the punishment fit the crime. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

Just for the fun of it, I would put you first on that list, except for one thing... See you in March. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb -
What fun is that? Edited to add: Public humiliation in a subtle kind of way (like this) is a pretty reasonable response if the facts are as presented. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

I have reported you to USPA for not being a member. I have reported you to the FAA for jumping without an airplane. Were all these people actually the same person stalker? Wow. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

Here's what's going to happen. I'm going to sit in a chair on the deck and read a book. It will look like I'm waiting to hold court, but in truth, it will be because I'm so exhausted I can't even think of moving. If it were not for the fact that I said I would be there, I wouldn't even be going. I'd be spending the day at home, in bed, alone (except for the cat). Everything has gotten so stressful--work and home--that the only respite I get now is when I'm in the car. And yesterday, I zoned out and rear-ended a guy in a pickup truck. Fortunately, he's been hit several times before, and I didn't hit him very hard. No visible damage (I dinged my fender), so he waved me off and told me to have a better day. Sorry to hijack, Bobbi, but I just wanted everyone to be aware that on Saturday, I will be a lump. As for what I'm going to do to Walt...well, if he wants to sit on my lap, I can probably handle that. Anything else he does is up to him, but I'm so out of it, I probably won't even notice. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

The original argument that Michele and I took on was the assertion that all obesity is caused by laziness. Some obesity is caused by other factors. That's the argument. So we don't have to argue that a "large amount of obesity" is caused by things other than laziness. But I know a lot of very fat people who are a whole lot more active than I am. For all that they are big, they never stop moving, they exercise, they keep their hearts healthier than a lot of skinnier people who just happen to have faster metabolisms. Obesity is caused by taking in more than one burns off. That's just a fact. But the reasons why one fails to burn off the excess are many, and to attribute the cause to laziness is...lazy. Even the fattest person can simply stop eating, and that person will eventually lose weight. Quickly at first, then ever more slowly afterward as the body begins to go into starvation mode. I know people who have made weight loss a major quest, and if they're willing to sacrifice good nutrition and live on 600-800 calories a day, they'll lose weight too. But making oneself sick in the process doesn't seem to be the best of all possible ideas. Ask a woman like me, with a thyroid condition, ask a woman with PCOS, ask a man with a hormonal imbalance. We are not lazy slugs, but we have a great deal of difficulty getting our bodies to cooperate with the common wisdom. http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/o/obesity/causes.htm rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. That's what always happens with an impromptu list--even when you're only going to the grocery store. And if you're me, you always forget the most important items...which is why I only had one cup of coffee this morning. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. yes please............................................... Okay Peter. One whippin' comin' right up. On a related note (topical), someone was kind enough to PM me and let me know that the harness is new and improved, and that no more will students and test dummies will be harmed when strapped on. It's scary enough to be along for the ride when someone is testing gear or themselves. An uncomfortable harness just adds insult to injury. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

Be carefull with your statements... Some peopel got all offended on here a couple years ago with the bonsai kitten url.... Your felinicide arguments may stir the same controversy. Think of it as an IQ test, Rémi. "Do not try and kill the cat. That's impossible. Instead ... only try to realize the truth." "What truth?" "There is no cat." "There is no cat?" "Then you'll see that it is not the cat that dies, it is only yourself." Nope. You can't kill the cat. The cat walks through walls. When did she say she was talking about you? They resolved that one post down from the one you replied to. Not pickin' on you, Jeffrey, but people do that all the time--not reading the thread, or at least most of it before they reply. It's about as common as answering the post above one's own as if it were an answer to what one said, even if someone else's name is in the subject line. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Dave, Dave, Dave, You know I'm oppositional-defiant. But I didn't even think of that...I just started remembering that little adventure, and it all kinda flowed. I'm determined to do better this time, although I'm not sure how soon it's going to happen. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb -
Shut up Cowden, I'm workin' here rl, you can put the harness on me and see how (un)comfortable we can make it Does this mean I get to leave on you all the bruises that harness left on me? rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

That was a whole lot different. A. I was a physical and psychic wreck. B. I was on a mission. I got to NJ from FL in a single day, did my daughter's birthday and lit out for the other coast. It took less than a week to get from NJ to CA, and I only stayed a month. It took less time to get home to NJ because the cat didn't get stuck under the car seat and have to go to the vet on the way back. C. I did the trip from NJ to Arizona in 3.5 days. I didn't even see the landscape, much less any people. D. I was in a total daze from Arizona back to Florida. This time, however, I'll have Shannon with me, and we're going to see the sights. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb -

RhondaLea replied to cocheese's topic in The Bonfire
Woo hoo! Anything is possible. I can't choose one person, because there are too many people I'd like to meet, spank, hug...and...um...well... I think that one of these days I'd just like to take a couple of months and zig-zag my way across the country. Then I could meet everyone... rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb -
