I am headed down south to the Boogie in Belize. This will be my third trip down. It is an amazing place. There is a ton of stuff to do.(myan ruin, cave tubing, diving, BEER) Its the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere. The diving is unbelievable. The people are super friendly and it just a really layed back vibe. And for 9 days there will be skydiving. http://www.skydivebelize.com/ You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. If you look at the picture for the switch you will notice they removed the plastic cover around the switch. That is what i am going to do. I tried to remove it last night with no luck. I don't want to mess up my new cam eye trying to pry that little bugger open. Can someone chime in on how to remove the plastic housing the switch is in? Yes, I will be drilling two holes. I drilled my first hole last night for the LANC plug. (through the box into the helmet) Now I am looking for the right location to drill for the switch. I know you hate to drill on your new helmet. It will look so much cleaner installed inside the helmet with just the switch sticking out. What kind of camera are you running? I am running the new 330. The plug on the 330 is on the right hand side of the camera (helmet side). I could see where it would be a problem with the jack on the front of the camera. The box is a really tight fit. I am going to drill a hole and mount the switch from the inside. That way the only thing exposed will be the red switch. You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. I am in the process of rigging my new camera helmet. I did not have a cam eye on my last set up. My question is where is the best location to mount the switch? Outside the helmet and cover with gaffers tape? Or drill a hole and mount the switch inside the helmet with the red button protruding out of the helmet? I am leaning towards drilling a hole and mounting inside. It would be a much cleaner install. Thoughts? Suggestions? You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. I have bought all my gear off DZ.com. Very good experiences indeed. It is a little scary sending someone thousands of dollars with out seeing the gear in person. People said skydivers don't rip other skydivers off. I would not hesitate at all to buy used gear off the classifieds. I have sold a lot of gear off hear also. Just downloaded a new screen saver for my cellular phone. There is three different skydiving ones. Two skysurfing ones and a big way RW one. I now have a skysurfer as my screen saver on my phone. I got the strap off with no problems. The camera fits perfectly with the strap removed. I wish the weather would clear up here so I can go make my beer jump with my new helmet. Eddie the "Boner" Sanchez from the Stevens & Pruett morning show is selling houses in my neighborhood. He is a white guy and looks nothing like the voice. He stops by when he is locking up the model homes and drinks a few beers in the drive way. After a few beers he will do the Boner voice. He was telling me about how after the government deregulated radio broadcast, QUEER channel started buying up radio stations like mad. He said he went to Dallas for a while and then eventually got bought again by QUEER channel. Now he is selling houses and doing pretty good. I grew up on KLOL. I feel honored to be able to hang and drink beer with and X radio god. I will always be a 101 Groove Dog....... You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. When is the house warming party? Congrats......I just bought a house back in May. Its a very stressful process. I think my Fiance' (wife now) and I almost killed each other through the home buying process. If you can survive the home buying process, you can survive anything. Anywho- congrats. I know this was posted some time back. I searched and could not find the post of someone removing the side strap. I just got my new RAWA and its a tight fit in the box. It fit fine in my big Bone Head box. With the strap removed it looks as if would be a better fit. You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. Very interesting. What time frame was this about? Late 70's? 80's? What kind of plane did you guys fly? I grew up in this area and never knew about this place. I live in League City at 518 and 45 South. I never new there was a DZ at this location. (528 and 45 South) I guess it would have been right behind the big shopping center where Hooters is. This is not the same DZ that Wendy was talking about off Vauthier road down south in Dickinson is it? (Galveston Skydivers) Wendy can you confirm this? Nice set up...I just ordered my RAWA from Aero store yesterday. They said it would be three to four weeks. I guess I will just use my old camera helmet until it comes.
