I will be there in September and was thinking about making a jump or two. Let me know how it goes. Have you been there before? This is my first time and am looking for info on Cabo. Thanks for all the positive feedback. So far I havent had any scary moments. Not to say that I wont have one. Its been pretty smooth and straight forward. I think my background in skydiving has helped me along a lot. Flying is VERY challenging just like skydiving. When we first took off today there 4 other planes in the pattern. The radio chatter was a little distracting. I have really learned to focus, and multi task. I never really knew how busy pilots were taking off and landing. No, not sure of the history of the tradition. I am taking instruction at Harvey & Rihn in Laporte. They teach aerobatics also. I just made my beer flight today. They tackled me down and cut the back out of my shirt. (aviation tradition) My CFI said you will always remember your first solo flight. I thought back to my first skydive. I will never forget that. Flying planes is almost as fun as jumping out of them. You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. I had a blast last weekend doing the Demo. Yes I owe beer. All those damn dealerships look the same from 3k feet. Jump run was a little off on the first jump. We got it worked out on the second. I have been out of the loop for a while. I used to run True Street at the Fun Ford weekends. It is pretty impressive to watch 9 and 10 Second cars drive 50 miles on one tank of fuel and go heads up. I think they are busting into the high 8's now. I know back in the mid/late 90's they were running mid 9's. My car was pretty hard on parts. I sometimes think I am going to get back into the racing. It sure was a lot of fun. Skydiving and flying have pretty much consumed my life now. My Z with 1000 miles bone stock was running 12.15@117 on street tires. I had a few bolt ons and got it to run 11.86@119. That is one car I really miss. You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. I had a crazy fast 99 R-1. I had a ZO-6 just like the one that caught on fire at the start of this post. I am not sure if we have ever met before. If we have, WAZUP?????? I have played with NOS throughout the years. I ran a 175 shot plate system on a fox body Mustang Back in the 90's when Stangs were the thing. It was a low 10 sec ride with the funny stuff. Very hard on parts. You never do a burn out on the juice. Burn out Flip switch to arm system Purge system (get all the vapor out of the line) Launch car on NOS and watch the back bumper drag the ground. I have witnessed some pretty nasty back fires. One time at the track in the pits a guy was tweeking on his 9 second stang. Next thing I know the hood was 20 feet in the air from the back fire. Pretty wild shit indeed. I was out flying the day the engine went south. It appeared to be a blown head gasket. There was coolant in the oil. It was also blowing oil out the valve cover vents. I kept tasting something funny in my mouth. Then my goggles started getting cloudy. It was from all the oil blowing out. It really sucks. I was having a good time. I hate to hear that is for sale and no longer available. You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. I have a RAWA and love it. I love the way it fits and it feels real balanced on my head. I have a PC-330 in the box. I dont have any experience with the FF2. My previous set up was a Bonehead Mindwarp with a D-box. It was kinda bulky with a large snag area where the box mounted to the helmet. I have nothing but good things to say about the RAWA.
