I don't know, but the poster's profile says he's from Irvington. The only Irvingtons I could find at Google Maps say this town is either in Alabama, New Jersey, New York, and Kentucky, I think. He lists his home DZ as 'Mosspoint'. Could be the Moss Point home of the Gold Coast jumpers in Mississippi. Isnt Tina Mucklow from Irvington? Obviously that's a Tina Mucklow Rip Chord.

[Cooper obviously had some chute experience. As far as clues to that Cooper had experience, I give you the obvious: 1. He didn't bother with the instructions. 2. He told Mucklow the chutes would not be too heavy for her to carry on board the plane. 3. She said he put the NB6 on like he knew what he was doing. #1 Even if true its not proof Cooper had experience with parachutes; His behavior may have been an act or a reflection of his calavier attutude and no experience with chutes. He could have read the instructions after Tina left. Maybe his whole performance was an act. Many interpretations are possible. #2 is true but has limited value in assessing a persons experience with chutes. And didnt it take Tina several trips, with help? #3 wasnt it Hancock who made that observation, not Tina? You say the witnesses got the physical description wrong but now you say they were experts on people putting on parachutes? ? You say these things are OBVIOUS. They may be obvious to you, but not to me.

Geof Gray was just on NPR's Weekend Edition (All Things Considered) talking about DB Cooper and his book, and informed the world that V23 is fifteen (15) miles wide .... in addition to other new facts. Whats next? Cooper was blond, had tatoos, and wore a leg brace? This is beginning to sound like the guy who posted on forums not so long ago saying 'There were life rafts in the chutes Cooper took. He paddled his way out. Thought you guys knew that! The FBI does."
-
I see the trip didnt dampen your enthusiasm for making up facts, omitting facts, generalising and sterotyping and inventing. DZ member writes, quote: "BTW, sport parachutists DID jump into Ariel during the past DB Cooper Days event. The last time was during the 25th anniversary in 1996. Several chutists landed right in the parking lot of the famous tavern. This is nothing new. The Owner, Donna, showed me exactly where they landed........... so there goes Blevins again ignorant of the facts and shooting his mouth off ............. "

I must say little now - will definately get back on this. Now Im wondering! How about five Coopers bailing simultaneously? Got any friends?

Im all for this! I have another proposal - jail time assured. When you're done with this jump come to my area and jump to our tailgate outside of Kinnick Stadium. It hasnt ben done since 1962 when a photo journalism prof named Wooley did the same jump and made headlines. The attitude has totally changed since those days - I am sure we would all go to the clinker for a day and God only knows what the fines would be but . . . this place is in need of some creativity. This might just 'hit the spot'. Forty guys at our tailgate would turn purple! It would make headlines - Cooper lands at Kinnick! i will leave my rigger out of this. i will message you privately. the fines are minimal and they will keep the NB8. never see it again. on another note, if you obtain the property owners permission the jump is legal. if not the law will just talk to you all night asking for another cool story, so what The property owner is the State of Iowa. They would never agree to this. Wooley got fired over his jump so to wrap things up with a bow he made a second jump into the UI Library parking lot, with finals tests in hand! Made State news. He moved on to have a fine career and we havent seen the likes of that fine gentleman since - I really miss him! I was one of his students! Let me make some inquiries. I mean if we're going to get into trouble lets do this right. I need to talk to some gentlemen who uhh ... know all the right politicians. I will get back on this -

TEASE CHECK: you recently stated that you were about to unveil blockbuster evidence that "the FBI can not ignore." Status? 377 Uhhh, that was Tease No. 26,903 by actual count.

I do wish a real scholar would write the definitive DB Cooper book, separating rumor from fact, checking and verifying sources, all that stuff that Farflung likes. I'd buy one. 377 That has been suggested before by many people. Quite frankly, there are always impediments (hurdles) to any such work and so far the hurdles have proved insurmountable, as this forum made clear just as recently as last night -

Good question. Is it possible that their extension angle was determined by airspeed? When the plane came to a halt on the ground they had no slipstream pushing them upwards. In the FBI sled test photos (taken from the chase aircraft) the unloaded and loaded stair deflection angles should be visible. I sure wish Ckret had been able to post the video of the sled test. 377 Hominid says: CONCLUSION The only stair deployment method that fits what we've been told about the hijacking is the emergency extension method with the normal stair control handle left in the UP position. Besides detaching the uplock rollers, this would have damaged the latches. So, they cannot lock after retraction if the latches have been damaged (as per Hominid above) and, Blevins confirms when Rat says: " (Robert B adds: Rataczak also says that the light came back on for the remainder of the flight, so the stairs never actually closed/locked completely, but only enough to turn off the indicator light for a moment at the time of the jump.) " Answer seems to be: damaged latches. And it appears Rat confirms in his interview with RobertB. I hope Hominid is reading this - he obviously would have thoughts about this analysis? But damned good work by everyone! Nice piece of work and very relevant to several issues in this case. And going clear back to the beginning Larry hit the nail saying: 'Oscillations and bump were separate'. Snow played a role in that analysis also. I sure would like to read Hominid's analysis now?

I still want to know what the ground crew found in Reno. Then again, since there was one hijacking every 5.6 days during the 69-73 or so time frame, maybe post flight inspection wasn't a big deal. Is there anything about the Reno search in Gray's book? Oscillations, bump, Coop bails?, but stairs are back down when plane landed in Reno. If the stairs slammed shut creating the pressure spike, they obviously did not lock (perhaps due to damage from the Emergency procedure) because, the stairs were down at landing at Reno and by all accounts the stairs were locked and not flopping as 305 landed and rolled to a stop? Does this confirm the emergency procedure was used and where the handle had to be? Just one set of oscillation-bump reported in the Transcripts. No other reference to the door and stairs ...
-
Georger - I don't have the transcripts anymore but I clearly remember a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between the cockpit and NWA because not only did they not know the stairs could be lowered in flight, they believed it might be dangerous. Maybe someone who still has the transcripts (and the time, which right now is rather a scarce commodity on my part) would like to go through them to find the exact conversations. I sure understand your position and yes, lots of to-ing and fro-ing. I think the transcripts are still available at Sluggo's site if you need one? But Hominid suggests(a) lots more communication btwn crew and Cooper than previously stated. This was a task Cooper could not have performed on his own without help? and (b) it goes to Cooper's skills and knowledge.

Great question

CONCLUSION The only stair deployment method that fits what we've been told about the hijacking is the emergency extension method with the normal stair control handle left in the UP position. Besides detaching the uplock rollers, this would have damaged the latches. 377 If I interpret this correctly one result would be far more communication and direct action (by some means) between Cooper and the cockpit possibly thru Tina? None of this interplay is made explicit in the transcripts. Gray's book develops some of it - We know he got out of the plane, by some means. We also know a reporter on the scene at Reno reported 'some damage' to the air stairs after landing - whether this damage is consistent with Homonid's speculation is uncertain ? Does it follow, that getting the door open and stairs down relied more on the crew than on Cooper or Cooper's knowledge or skills personally than previously thought - because we know Cooper had trouble and we now know crew intervention was required. ?

everyone that I know was having issues - Quade was on top of it - now seems fixed. But, it did give me pause to think and reflect. Lets improve things here. Thats all I can say.
-
The public information is that he dropped the stairs, they fell to a natural balance between weight and airflow pressure, and the stairs rebounded when he jumped, to fully closed or nearly so, and then dropped back down. clipped the bulk - very nice post. wow. website connectivity issues seem resolved - Thanks Quade! G.

Has this person RobertMBlevins ever considered for one moment that he-personally will now be defined and delineated for LIFE by the very crap he has written and said and foisted off on an innocent world? Shame on Blevins. He just sullied and spoiled a perfectly good name and opportunity - his own! Porteous must be hiding under his desk quaking, praying the phone doesn't ring. "Mr. Porteous? This is Jerry Springer calling ....."

[This forum is a very noisy channel. I point to the recent Clydesdale arguments as an example. Now you've started an arguement! There was/is no arguement. An ARGUEMENT? over Clydesdales? past tense? its still current. The Clydesdale matter brought up by RoberyM Blevins is factual, nondebatable, and has nothing whatever to do with the DB Cooper case in any event. Blevins might just as well have said: Katy Watson is the first female mamal that took a dump on the North American continent, which we know is not true and has nothing to do with DB Cooper either. So what is to debate or argue about? Farflung nor I were arguing at all. Whats to argue about? As for this other piece of RobertMBlevins boilerplate: Seattle Secret Group Steals Dropzone Thread ... Dropzone Wiki leaked? Blevins announced months ago here, he was going to do that! Secret group? Blevins sympathises? Blevins informs world of important breaking event? Talk of lawsuits? Copywrite infringement? When is this idiot Blevins going to get over himself and just launch himself over the Grand Canyon in a ball of rubber bands shot from a copper pipe - and get it over with? Sheeeeesh! My 16 month old grandson has more balls and integrity & creativity! Blevins needs to end his diatribe of neurotic competition with MICKEY MOUSE and DAFFY DUCK claiming that his light bulbs are important NEWS and central to the D.B. Cooper hijacking. Ask Snowmman to explain it to you.

Reply via Georger: Georger, I would think that the claim about the first woman driver to drive four Clydes abreast would be very hard to substantiate. For hundreds of years draft horses have been used in farming and Clydes have have been used in that capacity as well. Women commonly did plowing or ran the teams in logging operations while the men did sawing and more arduous tasks. Four abreast is a very common hitch for farming and logging and racing. It would be very difficult to prove or disprove which woman was the absolute first. I would have to say many were the first. I hope this helps. Are you going to the Portland or Ariel gatherings? As of this moment, I don't have any plans to do so. As you know, I had hoped to pay another visit to that area this past summer but a couple of distractions (one was the fire and the other is a possible health matter) got things out of synch. But I would like to talk to Richard Fazio for a few minutes so maybe all things are still possible. And who knows, maybe I could then make a more leisurely trip there for a few days next summer. We should all know more by December.

What drugs are you on! ? John Peters "Johnny" Ringo (May 3, 1850 – July 13, 1882) was an outlaw Cowboy of the American Old West who was affiliated with Ike Clanton and Frank Stilwell in Cochise County, Arizona Territory during 1881-1882. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Ringo Johnny Ringo an outlaw? No way! But of course everyone in Tombstone in the 1880s could be called an outlaw. Johnny Ringo, the blogger, has never answered my question if he runs the bar with his name in Tombstone. That bar is about 21 miles from my driveway. But it is only 20 miles from here to the O.K. Corral where a famous gunfight took place in the 1880s which has since become a Hollywood fairey tale. Never been there. Wasnt Ringo part of the Clanton gang that the Erps took down, or is that another 4 Monsters Abreast tale? People south of here argue over whether Jessie James even existed ?

A vanity tale, in any event.

I assume somebody wont say later: 'that was eight Clydesdales'. Let's settle for four. My cousin Jenny Powell worked at Busch Gardens while she was in pre med at St Louis. Let me call Jenny and see if she knows anything about women driving Clydesdales a breast. Its just one more factoid I had never planned on researching, in my life. How many Katy's driving Clydesdales did Bernie drive a breast? Kazantzakis said: 'There is only one woman in the universe and each women is all women". So maybe Bernie had his hands full?? Have no fear. I will not go where Orange was headed when 'didnt get none' was brought up ? Since permutations and language seem to matter to some people. Didnt get none what? more Clydesdales? Found out Bernie had never read Kazantzakis to discover the secret of olive oil and crucificions? First person to drive 4 Clydesdales: Must be tantamount to an SAT score ? Why does it matter? Katy. Barb Dayton. Clydesdales. Science Friday. Did Tom or Gray find evidence of Clydesdales on the tie? I will make note of the fact no Katy or Bernie or Clydesdale hair has ever been found on the tie - so far as I know! Maybe that is the next breakthrough to be announced - at Portland! (c 2011 Portland) Nikos Kazantzakis and CB sponge found on tie! HOPA! You heard it here first - social media at work. Now Jo must incorporate CB's and Greeks into her story. Silly Jo.. quit calling the wrong person in Mt Vernon Iowa. ITS NOT ME. You are harassing the wrong person!
