    Chicago's gun ban was thrown out in June 2010, and since then murders by gun in Chicago have shot up (pun intended). Before 2010 the homicide rate had been steadily decreasing. However, that is a red herring anyway, The homicides are overwhelmingly due to an ongoing turf war between street gangs over control of the drug trade, Fine by me if the keep offing each other. This is quite a stunning acknowledgement, coming from you.

    This will never happen as long as we continue to allow our society to be dominated by vultures who get rich on others misery. The odds of drastically changing our tax system is more likely. Too many pigs at the trough. I think we need government mandated price controls on lawyers.

    To tell you the truth what scares me is from the LEO posts on here, it seems like LEO is pretty damn untrained as well. Thats scary. I don't know that its a good reason to not train anyone else, but it sure is scary! I will think twice before trusting a cop after hearing these stories. You should also think twice about relying on LEOs or anyone else to protect you. When seconds count, the police will be there in a few minutes.

    Actually, Dave. That's exactly in line with what I was thinking. Some mandatory training of the legal responsibilities of ownership. How does that solve a problem? Well, it might help keep your kids from stealing your guns and shooting you in the face and then going on to shoot up a bunch of other kids. Why not just require a little instructional manual with every gun sale. Something like "Don't let your kids get ahold of your guns. Doing so could result in serious injury or death." Like the seat belt warnings in cars. That seems to work.

    Right. Why bother debating social policy on its merits, when it's so much more fun to focus on making someone you disagree with a poster child of Hitler's goat-fuckers? Just repeat it over and over again, until the noise drowns out everything else. Works for toddlers, so why not everyone? This post is so funny on so many different levels.
