If you think passing more laws that criminals will just ignore will have any effect on gun related crime,, then you clearly don't understand the issue or you have very little experience understanding how criminals think. Has nothing to do with being arrogant. Has to do with just plain being wrong or naive. Take your choice.

Nope, he's already proven mine. Anyone who thinks passing laws will make criminals more likely to obey them is living on another Planet. Or in this case, another country.
-
And sometimes people refuse to see anything at all. ref post #3 on this thread. Another one who can't comprehend the issue.

As I have explained before, I have to post while driving to meetings from my IPhone. In fact right now, I'm on my way to meet with my Lawyer. He's a real Lawyer, you know, the kind who doesn't have a gray ponytail.

PD Forcing Residents From Home During Boston Manhunt
Gravitymaster replied to Kennedy's topic in Speakers Corner
Not one incident, but as your fellow countrymen found out nearly 250 years ago, there is a tipping point. Edited to add: I don't mean tipping like you do in a bar. Didn't want you to get confused. -
Sorry, I can't keep track of where everyone is from. I have an actual company to run and can't spend countless hours at my employers expense posting here. Glad you liked the video.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c82_1357146088 So we can put you down as another foreigner who simply doesn't understand the issue? Have you met Jakee?

You keep shaking your fist if you think that's going to make a difference. See how effective that has been. -
PD Forcing Residents From Home During Boston Manhunt
Gravitymaster replied to Kennedy's topic in Speakers Corner
It's why they wrote the whole fucking thing. I wasn't talking about the whole thing. The "whole thing" without the 2nd is about as effective as shaking your fist and screaming "you can't do that". -
So we can put you down as one who believes passing more laws will somehow cause criminals to comply with them?

PD Forcing Residents From Home During Boston Manhunt

Actually it's why they wrote the 4th Amendment. There are other parts to the Constitution than the one sentance about guns, you know. It's still why they wrote the 2nd. -

This is why the founding fathers wrote the 2nd Amendment. -
Typical ill informed foreigner who does not understand the gun debate. Why people have such a hard time with the concept that passing more gun laws will some how cause criminals to comply with them is beyond me.

Boston Bombing - FBI Hunting Sleeper Cell
Gravitymaster replied to Gravitymaster's topic in Speakers Corner
Yeah, I'm sure it was just a couple of loners who became radicalized from spending too much time on the Internet and playing violent video games. http://t.today.com/news/uncle-mentors-radicalized-older-boston-bombing-suspect-6C9529666 -

Better stock up before the "ban". I've hear that if you want to make proper stock, that is the best tool. Speaking of stocks. I'm wondering if I should call my broker and buy Waring or GE stock? You jest, but it wouldn't surprise me if there is a temporary upsurge in the sale of these. Which will get used a few times and put in the basement because they take up too much counter space just like rice steamers and bread machines. Yep, right next to the rowing machine and the stair-stepper. Maybe, in your house, but our rowing machine actually gets used. And when it's not, we stand it up and it looks like a piece of art. Would you like to buy one?.....Cheap? How about a stationary bicycle? Only used as a coat rack.

How should Tsarnaev be handled? Criminal or Enemy Combatant?
Gravitymaster replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
I did not know that. Thanks for the explanation. -
I thought it a bit of overkill, but maybe locking everyone into their homes resulted in no civilians shot up the way they were in dorner's pursuit. However, they were about to give up and had lifted the curfew. The homeowner then went outside to inspect his property. That's the main reason he was discovered in the boat. I wonder if he would have escaped if the curfew had been continued?

His rights still exist. Nothing is suspended. The point of the Quarles exception is to ask about imminent threats to public safety. He still has his Miranda for every other kind of question. Think of the 4th amendment. There are exemptions. Motor vehicle, abandoned property, etc. the gov using one of them doesn't diminish your other rights, or the rest of 4A protections. I don't disagree that when public safety is an issue that an exemption is in order. I would just prefer that law enforcement be required to have a Judge issue the exemption. -
