  1. OK, How about a dorky one instead??LOL Just kidding. FU hehe OK so its really late (for the freaksis, here) and I'm sitting here drinking wine listening to this guy...he calls himself "an annoying Mexican fuck" but really, I think his name is Kris. LOL We are listening to the oldest MINISTRY you will ever hear probably, or more likely, will not ever hear. hehe It is the beginning of electronica... say, 1981. Just wanted to say hola to all my dz.com buddies and what not. I will be in Houston this weekend (possibly part of the week too). I will be at Spaceland first, then Waller. See you Ann and Levin!! :) :)
  2. THAT'S for sure! LOL Not really a joking matter, but you can definitely see what not to do at any dz any weekend. On a serious note, however, that does not really help the problem. People who want to learn need to know WHAT is wrong in the videos or swoops they see, and how NOT TO DO THAT. I only say this based on my time spent with a canopy control coach and pro swooper (Perry) and his fellow canopy pilots. I like to listen to what they have to say at the dz and at swoop meets, etc. The very best thing you can do is get hands-on help from some experienced in swooping. I would suggest someone with thousands of jumps, on many sizes of canopies. The best pilots on the circuit today started out jumping BOATS and worked their way down to small canopies over the YEARS. Now everyone wants to cram it all into a two day course. Hence, you have injuries or fatalities. Take it slow. Take many classes with a coach or a good friend. It doesn't have to cost much, if anything at all. A good pilot doesn't want to see anyone get hurt and in my opinion, should share their knowledge with anyone willing to learn. If you are open-minded and willing to learn - this means LISTEN - you will be doing bad ass in no time. My measly .02 cents on the matter. Thanks for reading this since I am not a swooper, I just know a lot of them, and that probably doesn't really even count. Hugs and blue skies to all,
  3. Thank you, yes I know how to save files to the computer as JPG and so forth. I am even smart enough to use most Adobe programs. :) LOL THanks for the tip. I just didn't feel like doing it at the time.
  4. YEP, I sure did. I am post whoring. LOL
  5. nah it was the right size, wrong file extension. DOH! I will do it again later. Sorry guys.
  6. Great pics, Dave. I recognized a picture of Perry sitting next to what's his name. crazy guy with the wild hair. anyway the pic is dark, its in the plane, but i would know that face anywhere! hahaha no shit eh LOL
  7. Well, Andy thanks for taking such a great picture of me! NOT! LOL Just Kidding. I never like my own photos. I am the worst critic of them. I am on the right in the ORIGINAL dz.com tshirt that is white. I liked them better, mine lasted great. Dunno the prob. Anyway, I got some good pics developed today, including a badass downplane. I will scan them in tonight. Blues,
  8. I don't have time to read all the replies so bear with me if I am repeating the same things other people wrote. Under canopy, I think about lots of things. You have to be pretty adept at "multi-tasking" to fly a parachute, I think. First I watch the opening (now that I have a canopy I can actually DO that with!! haha) then make sure all is the way it should be...it becomes a flow once you do it enough times. I sort of do several things at once...like making sure its square stable steerable, etc...risers look good, etc. All this time I am looking for traffic around me. I try not to get too focused on my canopy that I forget I am still flying and could hit someone, or screw up my spot by not turning the direction I want to go right away. In fact, I usually do this with risers before I even unstow the brakes. Then, its a mixed bag of constantly assessing my situation. Where is my target? Where am I? Check my ground speed. Adjust my flight plan (which I try to always make on the ground, but sometimes forget! grr) Always working on accuracy. Looking at altimeter every minute or so...or less. hehe Also, I usually have to remind myself to BREATHE. LOL I take canopy control so seriously that its more adrenaline for me than freefall!! hehehe By the time I am on final, its horizon, ground, look for traffic, horizon...get ready to flare, make those feet MOVE dammit!!! Don't stop running. LOL Don't hit anyone, it goes on and on. I am definitely a LONG way from being a swooper!!!!
  9. I have too many to count. LOL Probably more shirts than jumps - of course that wouldn't be hard would it? It doesn't take long to accumulate a measly 120 skydiving shirts. LOL
  10. It WAS a good boogie. I had a wondeful time. It was so good to see some old friends, and meet the new ones I only knew from dz.com. Including those aforementioned "lurkers." I didn't jump because I was SO busy making jewelry. Thanks to everyone for their support. Also, thanks to Kris for making me feel better about myself, Moody for some great laughs in the hotel room Sat. night (PJ pic incident) and so many others. Zennie, it was great to see you again.. You seem so much happier now, and that is GREAT! I am also a much happier person than the first time I saw you. Enjoy your necklace. Which reminds me... SLAPPIE: if you are reading this, give Zennie his necklace I made back in JUNE! LOL Levin, you are an absolute sweetheart and good-looking to boot! You were fun, sorry I didn't go on that hybrid but I am super conservative when it comes to uh, hmmmm....how can I put this - recreational activities of different kinds being combined ?!?! I am excited about coming to Waller this weekend and finally meeting ANN!!!!!!!!!! Yes, Ann you have to come to the dz, Levin is going to make you. I will do some freefly jumps/coaching with you while I am there, Levin, if you have time and would like to. Hey, Zennie, I am seriously considering making that "Freaksis on Tour" shirt you were talking about. That WAS you wasn't it? LOL I will be at Spaceland sometime this week, might be Thursday or Friday, not sure. Gemini, so good to meet you to! I will PM you regarding the discussion we had Saturday. Basically, it will be probably Thursday before I head that way, not Tuesday like I originally planned! I am very exicted about seeing everyone there again. I missed Paula this weekend. Someone told me she couldn't come visit us for some reason. To all dz.commers, Aggies, and - well heck!- everyone on the forum - have a great Monday and I luv you all! Oh my weekend numbers were 0:0:2. But I am going to change that first number one of thse days. Damn, I am rambling. I woke up too soon. Not enough sleep. See ya. XOXOXOXO,
  11. Hi ya'll! Well, I am leaving in a couple of hours for the boogie. We have rooms at the Brazos Inn, same place as Moody Skydiver. They do have a pool. I have res. at both places (the other one was 59 a night) and I'm going to drive by and see which is nicer. If the BRazos is seedy, I'm going for the La SAlle. Anyway, Might get there in time to jump today, might not. Still very tired, only four hours sleep so far and it has been interrupted majorly twice. I am prone to getting sleepy at the wheel. So I would rather sleep a couple more hours first then head out. I am going to have lots of gorgeous beaded and hemp necklaces, and will be able to do custom designs on site (I can have them done the SAME DAY you order one) I am taking all my stuff to work with. Also, I am going to have tie dye tank tops and two tie dye dresses that are embroidered with the words "Skydive" on them. Very cute. http://www.freakthreads.com If you see the bright patch pants, dz.com shirt, or freakthreads.com shirt, say hi! Yes, Dave and Moody, I WILL sign up at the dz.com sign up sheet. If I can't find it I will ask someone. Didn't you say it was near manifest?? Party time is about to roll. See ya'll soon! (Its a five hours drive, not too bad I guess) BLue Ones,
  12. Well, its official. I am attending the boogie. WOOHOO!! I have a travel buddy now to help with expenses and another hotel room Missed early reg. - ended today- but oh well. the party is ON!! Freaksis in the house!
  13. I'm 26 1/2...my b-day is in April...imagine that...lol my parents claim that is only PART of the reason I ws named April, but I am not sure I believe them...
  14. Excellent turnout! I am impressed. Paula, please do come support. I look forward to hanging out with you again. Tequilagirl, thanks a million. I appreciate it. By the way Andy, I am easy to find if you look for the absolute brightest patch pants on the dz. Mine are about ten different colors. Pammi used to have a picture of me wearing them on her website. My hair looks different now though. Anyway, hope to see you all there! I have to gather some funds now!
  15. I am going to be making a wild trip this weekend - going to three different dz's in about as many days. LOL I will be at the boogie, I hope, but only for a day or two. I am also stopping at Spaceland this weekend and Skydive San Marcos. I will probably leave Friday and return Monday - we'll see. Anybody offering a place to crash...it would be appreciated! :) Its really hot in a tent this time of year...
  16. Perry will be there to do canopy control coaching, I think. I will be there too, *I hope* with my goods as well. I am helping him out, here. You can visit his website at http://www.the-learning-curve.net Hugs,
  17. I know somebody on there...heh hehehehehehe
  18. we are all geeks. hasn't anyone figured that out yet? btw, i am now a single geek who hasn't had sex in six months, so any interested parties apply through my website!! :) holy cow i love shameless self promotion. hehehhe http://www.freakthreads.com Don't wait three weeks, gets yours in three days! :) custom. shamless plug again!!
  19. I just don't get it. You know, I don't get much respect because I only jump twice a week or so. Even though I live with an SDU and canopy coach, spend most of my waking hours and dreamtime living a skydiving life, etc. Two or three jumps a week - that is what I want right now. I know a lot of people who haven't jumped at all in a while, because of money or work or whatever, but they still love this sport. I still think they are skydivers. There is a guy at Dallas who jumped ages ago in the military but doesn't anymore because of health reasons. Yet he runs a cafe for us, is an EMT and firefighter, - usually first on the scene at a jumping accident - and so forth and spends more than five days a week at the dz. Is he not a skydiver? He understands our mentality better than I do. I think he should be considered a skydiver, but he's just not actively jumping. I think the statement that there is some elitist bullshit going on here is true. In my opinion, once a skydiver, always a skydiver. That doesn't necessarily make you an ACTIVE skydiver (read my other post!). Cheers,
  20. Ok - what makes an ACTIVE skydiver? How uncurrent do you have to be to be considered a skydiver, but a relatively non-active one? Just wondering your opinions on that. No, not for myself. LOL
  21. Dude, the seal is SOOO funny. I had to send that to Perry, I mean come on!! hahahahaha I wrote I love you so much, you mean the world to me! Seriously! But turn up the volume and wait till the end of the card before you close the window!! hehehehehe ROFL,
  22. That is a good idea, Mr. Mac!! However, out of respect, I would insist on paying whoever does it. As far as a necklace goes...I am offering free shipping this month - and as soon as I get the logo I will be giving away free t-shirts (unisex) with orders. The shirts are really nice, solid color with a single narrow tie dyed stripe across the chest. Plus the logo screenprinted on when its done. I intend to make the person who does my logo a necklace too, for free, but I want to pay them also. Blues,
  23. Rhino, I have to go to a memorial and ash dive right now for Jason. I will be back this afternoon though and email you then. To everyone who has responded to this, thank you so much! I am trying to get back to all of you but its hard because I am busy. I dont' turn away any help! :) :)
  24. Yep. All my dungeon toys say: YOU ARE S.O.L. Don't try to escape.
  25. Yeah YOU WISH! hahaha Nope, its for my business. Freak Threads...
