    Monday Parable

Nice story, but why'd you have to let the cat drown? He could have just gotten *wet*. I would have liked that better. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

    XXX movie

Speaking of movies...there is a new Imax movie coming out Friday, May 10. There is an Imax theatre at the World Golf village. For all you Skydive Deland'ers, BZ and I will be there to see it that night. It's an extreme sports film. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

    Radio Quiz

I haven't read the thread yet so if someone has already come up w/ the correct answer, sorry. My guess: When a woman is wearing the man's t-shirt and nothing else. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  4. He he he...that was fun. I had some pretty funky lego-people but I attached the one most accurate of me. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  5. BZ is 10 years older than me. His birthday is the week after mine so it's quite exactly 10 years. My friends have always been a good 5+ years older than me. When I met BZ, I thought he was about 5 years older than me and he thought I was about 7 years younger than him. By the time we discussed age, we were already in love. Hence, I don't think age matters. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  6. Which DZ will you be going to in Florida? We would love to see you in Deland. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  7. My boyfriend rescued a kitty less than a week old whose mother had abandoned him b/c he had an eye virus. He took him to the vet and got some ointment and the virus went right away. I fed the kitten from a syringe and after a week, I knew I was NOT giving him away, especially because we weren't even sure if he'd survive. It's Sabre's (that's what I named him, after my canopy) first birthday next month. He wears a small skydiving pin on his colar and he LOVES to jump. We go for walks on the beach and Sabre rides in one of those little rig backbacks, except I wear it backwards. He LOVES it. I LOVE my Sky-Cat
  8. Awesome Dave! We're in the same boat. Except, I had to have 30 academic research journals and a 20 page paper
  9. Ray, Ray, Ray...always trying to get me to spread my legs. THAT, I don't have a problem with, nor relaxation. I have held my position on every head down jump. I just need to learn how to move around better. If flying head down were like sex, I'd have a gold medal by now
  10. Lisa, This is going to sound REALLY WEIRD. I have really vivid dreams every night. I hadn't even gotten in to this thread before but I had a dream about it last night. I go to Panera Bread for breakfast every morning so that's where it took place. You were in line for breakfast and the man you speak of walked over to chat with you. It seemed to go well. There's really nothing else to the dream than that but I thought I should tell you, even though it's really weird I dreamt that. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  11. Extremists never really make a point as you elloquently illustrated. Smart people learn from their mistakes. Wise people learn from others mistakes. I'll take the other DZ.com'ers advice and not debate this one. I had no idea when I originally replied that this had been such a *heated* topic in the past. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  12. This is how I feel about the guys who jump w/ me. Even though I've been blessed w/ jumping w/ my boyfriend on every jump and he's been a GREAT coach, I still feel like I'm wasting the other guy's time when they have thousands of jumps and I don't make that dock or whatever. It's not like flying w/ a newbie, by any means, with me, but I still feel bad if I'm we're flying w/ each other and transition and I'm supposed to dock and I get inches away but don't actually make the dock. I feel terrible and think the other guy, w/ thousands of jumps, has just wasted a jump. I get REALLY HARD on myself. But, I agree, when I"m jumping w/ people who are less advanced than me, I have fun! I don't jump w/ many people less advanced than me, though. It's usually my boyfriend (3,000+ jumps) or people at his skill level. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  13. Screwdrivers? Nah, I'm pretty simple these days. It's beer, margarita's or shots for me. Every once in a while, I really dig the creamy drinks like grasshoppers, white russians or mudslides. But I pretty much stick to beer, margaritas and shots. I did the whole vodka with everything in high school and I about get sick when I taste vodka these days. I'll never touch GoldSchlagger again and I'm about Malibu and pineapple juiced out. It's funny the things you drink in high school. I had enough of all that in high school, I think to last a lifetime. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  14. AGREED! I met my boyfriend after I finished my AFF. I refused to jump w/ him for my first 20 skydives after AFF b/c I knew he had 3,000+ jumps and I didn't want him to see me all newbie-like. After that first jump together, though, there was no turning back! There is truly nothing better than jumping w/ the one you love! The plus is that I also get my own personal coach on every jump and he accepts sex as payment
  15. I forget how this goes (humps/jumps/firsts, I think) so here it goes: 5:3:0 Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  16. He he he! Sorry, Dove, I didn't mean YOU are all over the sky. I didn't know what you meant, though, when you said I'd feel better jumping w/ you
  17. He he he...nope, not joking. I guess I'm not around these forums often enough to keep up...Damn! I'm always out of the loop
  18. He he he! Well, I'm not sure how you fly, but even when I fly w/ less-developed freeflyers, it still doesn't make me feel like a sky-queen
  19. GEEZ! I must have missed something. I didn't realize this was such a *heated* topic
  20. Me too! Except the freefliers I jump w/ have serveral THOUSAND more skydives than I do
  21. I get half a minute, maybe less freeflying. It's funny because I'm a real relaxed, laid back girl until someone asks to play football, or beach volleyball or wakeboard, or whatever and then I'm a freak. I get really competitive. I have always have a good time and joke around but when it comes down to it, I LOVE to kick some ass
  22. For the most part, I'm a perfectionist. I know it's a curse, but what can I say. I'm very competitive in sports and hard on myself if I don't feel I'm progressing as quickly as I should. In every other extreme sport, if there was a trick I wasn't nailing, I'd drill it and drill it until I had it down. Skydiving is different. You have less than a minute (half a minute for us freeflyers) to practice your skills. You can't just drill it over and over until you get it down. Every skydive has been a super-fun experience for me. But I find myself getting mad at myself on the way home b/c I know I could do better. I spend a lot of time visualizing my skydives going well. I've been told that I learn quickly and fly well. I love to skydive and feel great after a day of jumping. I hate it when I get so frustrated if I screw something up. How do I get over this? Is it just me or do other people get frustrated that you only get less than a minute in freefall?
  23. How about my opinion? My old rig had an RSL and a Cypres. I disconnected the RSL. My new rig just has a Cypres. For me, a Cypres is all I need. If I cutaway in time, I'd rather get into a stable position before I pull my reserve. A lot of times when you cut away, you end up on your back or some other funky position, OR, your RSL could pull out your reserve before you main has time to get away. There are many arguements for both sides. Because I have a Cypres, I don't see the need to have an RSL, too. Based on my own research on the subject, I would probably recommend that choice ot others, too. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  24. Ha ha ha....I'm just participating in the conversation....since you started it and all. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
