You're absolutely right. I used to do promotions for Bacardi. Lot's of free clothes and good $$$, not to mention good experience and great networking oppotunities for future sponsorship.

I don't think he is sponsored...I think he does promotions for them.
  3. On average, I pull at 3k. My lowest would have been about 2k, b/c this person followed me when we tracked away and dumped right next to me. I turned, tracked the other way for a second, looked around for clearance and finally pulled.

I thought it was a bit sexist to assume I wouldn't be "good enough" sports-wise in his opinion to bear the "prestigous" Red Bull logo. But, it didn't bother me so much as made me wonder why people do it. It doesn't bother me, b/c I'm used to people assuming things, talking shit, or whatever. That is part of life. I just wonder what people are thinking when they do things they do, sometimes. And Bill, it's simple...all you have to do is be genuine and FUNNY! We girls, espcially me, love a good sense of humor. I'm VERY playful and have a very male-oriented sense of humor...I grew up w/ all guy friends so I tease w/ the best of them. A good sense of humor is very important!

OH, definitely, girls do it too. I guess I should have restated and said, I don't understand why people in general do it. But, to take the opposite perspective, too...I don't understand why some people who ARE really good, might say, "OH, I suck...no, really, I'm not that good"...I find that equally annoying. I think there's a balance b/w being confident in yourslef and being honest, or just being plain cocky. I don't care much for the latter, but I've discovered you can't blame a person for it, b/c usually it arises from low self-esteem. Why can't we all just be honest? If someone asked me if I was good at something, and I was, I would say, "Yea, I'm pretty good, but I could be better"...an honest answer. If I wasn't good, I would say, "No, I suck right now, but I'm working on it" If you're good at something, I think it's OK to say so when asked, but the difference lies in when people offer up the information themselves and then go on and on and on about it. I"m MUCH more inpressed w/ the men who do less talking and more action....that is DEFINITELY meant ambiguously. He he he.

Most of the time, I really don't give a shit...but I wonder why some guys do this: Since on the women's forum, some people are discussing "sexism at the dz" I thought I'd add "sexism" in general. I made the comment on the other forum that I personally haven't experienced much sexism at the DZ, but today at school I did. It doesn't bother me so much as I just wonder why guys do it? This is what happened: Guy from my class sits next to me in the computer lab..surfer guy, "Hey what's up" Me, "Nothing" "I'm just checking out my Red Bull e-mail" "Oh, right on. do you work for them?" "oh, yea, I make good money." "awesome. an advertiser for them, once asked me if I'd every be interested in doing an ad for them but nothing ever came up of it" "Oh, I don't know about that...red bull is VERY picky about who they let wear their logo...like, you have to be really good at something. It took me a long time before they'd let me wear it...I doubt if they'd let you do it. Mostly they stick to the top 1% in the world and in california" I'm thinking, whatever, did you not hear me say the guy approached me? not the other way around? and that, yes, nothing ever came of it but WHY do guys do that? After that, he just kept rambling on about how good at surfing he is and how he does x, y and z for Red Bull and blah, blah, blah... At that point, I wasn't listening anymore, just kind of nodding my head, smiling, and thinking, "What an egotistical ass." Again, I shoudl mention...I'm not in a bad mood about it at all...that kind of shit happens...I just don't understand it.
  7. He he he...oops, sorry for the mix-up. Actually, I hadn't even looked at your profile to see your name;-)
  8. Once again, Bill, you've proven yourself to be a true philanthropist. Ha ha ha!
  9. No, but she sure does love those Moo-Cows and Wilburs. Gotta love that beef and sausage!

How about this one: Life is like a movie and I'm the star of my own series.
  11. Ohhhhhhhh, now I know who you're talking about. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  12. Nothing wrong w/ fake na-na's. A great friend of mine got a pair (she looks great!) and she really enjoys them. More power to her. My personal preference is go w/ what mother-nature gave you. I'm all for reconstructive surgery; face lift when you're 50, dye your hair when it turns grey, reconstructing after injury, braces. I'm personally not into changing surgery like nose jobs, lippo, boobies, etc. But I certainly understand and respect those who are into those sorts of things. There is a lot of pressure to look a certain way. I know, I used to work in a field DOMINATED by rules of appearance. And I DEFINITELY don't believe all women/men who do have this type of surgery have low self-esteem. I just have a preference is all And my preference is, Skymama has GREAT na-na's w/out her wonderbra! I should know...I got to do more than just point to them...HA HA HA HA!
  13. Never heard of them...I'm so outta the loop. Someone mentioned STOMP, though, and that was the BEST show I've ever been to!
  14. Bill, after seeing Skymama, now you'll REALLY be having *happy thoughts*. Watch out next time you shake his hand...it will be WAY strong from all that *working out*.
  15. He he he...you mean the "wonder where those titties came from all of a sudden" bra? Ha ha ha...that's what I call them. How many times have I told you that's FALSE advertising? Join my club, "The I'm-not-huge-but-at-least-they're-real" club!
  16. Thank you, NacMac. I'd like to succeed in both professional/skydiving lives, but if I'm going to get more jumps in, and buy a house w/in the next year here at the beach...I need to make decent dinero Basically I work my bootie off for everything I want, hoping and praying it will pay off. Thanks for the vote of confidence
  17. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.....it took me a second, but now that I get it, that's REALLY funny!
  18. AWWWWWWW! Look at the cute lil' skydivers. They're so cute, mom, can I have one?
  19. A lot of big companies require personality tests (introvert/extrovert, how you handle stress, etc.) to discover if you'd be a good candidate for a position or not. Mostly these are done in sales/marketing/customer relations-type fields when communication and ability to make people feel comfortable with you are of key importance. They seem silly, but, what can you do, it's a requirement. Typically they ask the same questions over and over, but in different ways, to ensure validity of your statements. It will take 45 minutes. It sucks to think someone could grasp my entire personality in such a short amount of time...but I'm not complaining....I WOULDN'T WANT IT TO TAKE LONGER!
  20. CUTE! Ha ha ha! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  21. He he he...well, it's a written test, so I'm not sure a smile will do, but the guy IS coming in special for, me, since I'm not available on the regular days they do them. It's for a financial planning position at American Express. I've been getting tons of calls for positions in this field so I thought I might as well learn more about it, since the #s are good and I would feel good knowing I'm helping people make the most of their $$$ for retirement. Maybe I could convince them that investing in my skydiving career would be a wise decision...HA HA HA HA!
  22. I like this guy already...honest/blunt people are the best! Speaking of adds [plug]...the picture on the "Advertise on DZ.com" banner at the top is of my boy-toy. Ha ha ha. He's the one in the middle We have the same picture in an 8 x 10 on our "Ode to Us Skydiving" wall.
  23. Crisis or not...who cares? Just have fun, be true to yourself and enjoy life
  24. Right on! I will be enjoying some fun stuff this weekend, as well, skydiving-related. I also want to thank all the veteran's out there who gave me Monday off! I had to schedule a personality test for that morning for an after-graduation job, but after that, I have the day off. Wish me luck...I hope I have a personality
