While I would not go as far as to say "hate", I royally dislike it, too. If I had a lap-sized swimming in pool in my backyard, I would never run again. I love to swim. I miss swimming. I will not swim in the ocean as exercise because I am not a fan of sharks. I do not like the idea of those workout pools that keep you in place as you swim; I like to go somewhere when I am putting in that much effort. I never ran a day in my life before I met Bill; his whole family runs and participate in those races where they actually pay to run great distances. I pay not to run and would never run farther than five miles unless I were being chased by a lion and, even then I might just prefer he catch up to me and put me out of my misery. I have learned to accept running in my life, though Bill tries to stay a little ways away from me as I tend to get bitchy about things like wind, temperature, the insane newspaper-delivery lady (we run at 5 a.m.) who seems to be on my ass no matter what path we take, and assholes who water the sidewalk instead of their lawns. I also bitch to myself to keep running, saying things like "run faster, lazy bitch". Strange I know, but I do not respond as well to positive reinforcement. I am not happy until my run is over, but afterward I feel pretty good and am glad I got up to do it. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I said carbs in the form of whole grains, fruits & vegetables should make up the majority of one's diet. This is true for the general population. I did not read the rest of your post. Too long. Felt ranty. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

If she is not also body-building, she should definitely do more research. I do not believe I am the only one who did not realize your OP was referring to body-building. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

This was the information missing in your original post. I did not realize this was a body-builder thread and incorrectly assumed you were referring to weightloss and maintaining a generally healthy, balanced diet. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

However, in the short run, discovering you actually ran the vacuum cleaner on your own might be a turn on. I love it when Bill points out he refilled the soap dispenser without previous instruction to do so. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I walk or run five days/week. Walk when I truly do not feel like running but at least I got the eff up out of bed (while I am a morning person, I have to get up at 4:30 a.m. to have time to workout before everything else...). Depending on how far I walk or run, I then do cross-training for a total of about 45 minutes to an hour five days a week. I like yoga strength-training on bad-weather days. I never thought I could sweat indoors doing stretches, but...fucking yoga. I actually look forward to bad weather days. I like it much better than cardio, but cardio (running) keeps me slim, toned & hot, so... Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Never schedule on a Monday if you can help it. Always great to schedule the first apt. after lunch by my estimation... Also, call before and ask if they are behind. I am ROYALLY impatient and cannot stand what you are describing. I switched doctors recently and could not be more pleased. Not only is the waiting area MUCH more comfortable and upscale, but my doctor seems more knowledgable and efficient. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Is there a regime and/or website you can provide from which you are obtaining the "clean" aspect of your new diet? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Then you should do more research. Carbs are great in the form of whole grains, fruits & vegetables. These should make up the majority of your diet. Avoiding processed foods, however, I agree with. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Yes, given what little info you have given. There are many reasons--which you might be withholding given you asked the question in the first place--to decline. But, there_is_such a thing of people with the means wanting to compensate for people who do extraordinary things for them. And by extraordinary, I mean actually doing ones' job and giving a shit about it. Sadly, many people do not. Sometimes it is overwhelmingly refreshing when someone actually is "just doing your job and assisting a customer", especially when one is paid by the hour or otherwise--not that you are. But,...these days lazy assholes are a given and I would rather do shit myself or compensate for competence. I am just saying, if all else is well and you are only asking because you are being humble or something silly--take it!

That is true with some things, and I admit to not knowing the price of bison or any other meats. I do know locally-farmed and/or privately-farmed will be pricier (but SO worth it for both health and taste reasons). Having said that, I shopped my entire grocery list at Whole Foods once just to see the difference between what I would ordinarily spend elsewhere...I paid $10 more at Whole Foods--which I attribute to the $8- thing of vegetarian-pasta (made with cage-free eggs) I splurged on... I have heard people call Whole Foods "Whole Paycheck" and think they must be just grabbing things they might not have otherwise (which is great if one is trying something new or wanting to give an alternative a whirl) but if you know what you like and what you need, it really is par for the course, pricewise in my biased opinion. If you have not already, check out Local Harvest for options. I have a friend that is part of a group that makes one delivery from farm to a single residence and then those in the community arrange to meet with their neighbor on a set day to pick up. Whole Foods also makes it easy to buy locally-farmed everything. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I like the suggestion of a local farm.

Fashion and dictators: Qaddafi in Vanity Fair

Number 10, really? Clearly #12 is channeling Miami Vice. I love a good throwback... But, hello Russia. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
Great advice no matter what you are selling.

What does winning against al Qa’eda mean to you?

I agree, but... this morning I was frolicking on the beach--as usual--with my hunny and my dog. I felt something bite the back of my neck and it hurt! I asked Bill if he saw a bug on me, and he did not. Soon after, a bug was nearly on my eyeball--then my sunglasses. I took off my sunglasses and did not see him. Finally we found it--a big fire ant--and flicked him to the sand. What an annoying bug. He bit me on my neck and it hurt. I agree, however, otherwise I would not have given that ant the time of day and simply ignored him. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
"I thought you'd be bigger." I am still mourning Patrick Swayze. He is the only man I ever declared I would marry--granted I was six-years old. I LOVE that movie, BTW. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Really??? You never watch TV, yet made an exception for football? While I support my team by wearing cute Ts on game day, I do not watch. I read when Bill watches. Eight hours/day/household seems high to me, but not-so-much when I know otherwise productive and successful individuals who spend their Saturday and/or Sunday watching football. I would say for me about one to two hours/day and would be longer if not for only watching what has been pre-recorded on my DVR. I do not care who you are, there is some great stuff on TV. I painstakingly scrolled through everything on CBS until next Thursday's episode and discoverd no encore. I did not see anything online. I will check On Demand. I have it, but no idea what might be on it. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

My DVR did not record it. I had no idea the next season started this week. I do not watch a lot of TV, but my DVR is still set to record Survivor because I still love it... I am pissed. Is there a way to watch previous episodes online? I did a quick search on the Survivor: Samoa website and did not see anything, but hoping they give it a few days...??? FWIW, Cocktail is one of my all-time favorite movies. I was not sheltered from many movies as a child. I not only loved Cocktail, but had the soundtrack on cassette tape which my father had to replace after I wore the first one out. I have fond memories of riding my bicycle all over the neighborhood with my headphones on belting "to be wild again!..."

It's OK. As a very young girl, I thought Val Kilmer was super hot in Willow. I liked long hair. Now, I view long hair as either "IT department" or "no deparment". Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I was just telling Bill...the one skit (other than cow bell ) that makes me laugh no matter how many times I see it...it's the Swayze/Farley Chip-Off. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
