My parents did the same thing to many things they had given me or wanted to give me in college. I'm soooooooo not a hold-on-to-this-or-that person. I like space. I like having shelves with nothing on them; just the option to put something on them. If I'm not using it/haven't used it in a year then it's sold, donated or trashed thankyouverymuch. That's the way I understood it to work, but never asked and have never been. Interesting, though, that some people are tied in some way to their vote and others likely not. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I played piano competitively and "back in the day" won national championships in classical piano. I merely dabble in: clarinet, drums, guitar. I was in an ensemble when I was younger, though, and played all sorts of instruments depending on the genre. I love music. We used to have to keep a different beat with each hand, each foot & sing all together (4 beats & sing a song). I definitely can't do that as well as I used to. Edit: Hey speaking of that, sit in a chair and hold up your right leg and move it in circles clockwise. Then with your hand write the number 6 in the air. See if you can keep your foot from switching from clockwise to counter-clockwise. That drives me nuts! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I've skimmed through the responses and agree; this is an issue between you and your fiance. She seems to be very comfortable with it, though, and being that she is the one with the experience with dogs/this particular dog I might lean toward advising you to be trusting of her. I highly doubt she's not thinking of your child as much as you are. I do think it's ill-mannered of your MIL to insist on bringing the dog. It's not clear, however, whether your fiance' previously OK'd it. I personally would not opt to bring Cruzer anywhere unless all parties were comfortable, and would not be offended if they preferred I leave him. A mutually agreeable decision should be reached. As a side note: Long ago I'd have royally opposed a kennel, but these days your pet can have as good as, if not better, vacation than you. For me, I'd rather Cruz stay with family. Being that we don't have any family near, however, we have to board him when we vacation. He LOVES it! Some facilities even have video monitors so you can check online and view your pet in play or in his/her crate at any time. The one we take Cruz to isn't expensive at all; and all he does is play all day. He is never caged/crated during the day. At night, he sleeps in a sizable area all his own, and I can even bring his own bed or food or toys, etc. for his sleep-area at night. I still HATE leaving him, but....I definitely am NOT worried about him loosing 40 lbs or being mistreated. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I have a question. Being that I've always voted absentee, I wonder; does one just walk into a booth and vote without the vote being associated in an way with their name in particular? I.e. On my absentee ballot envelope my full name, address & signature appear. I wondered this the other day when it was brought up that, whether or not a person votes within their own party is unknown. Is there anything you WON'T ask for advice on from DZ.commers?

Oh, I was serious. It just wasn't important. I mean-- would you have been disappointed with any of them? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -

I get it. But, I use AP style. Thus, you only have me on a comma instead of a slash. Of course, the use of the slash can be argued... Edit: Happier now? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -

That would be my favorite, too, for a road trip. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

That's another reason I like absentee. But to be honest I only actually read up on a couple of the amendments, etc. that sound interesting and leave the rest blank.

They do that where I live.

Absentee vote from my very first time voting.

Ooooo, I saw Lenny in concert when he opened for Aerosmith. Saw him again at a very small, private, never-advertised club we have hidden in the beaches. THAT was cool. He's definitely a fantastic performer--very fun to watch. When I clean, though, hunny it's 80s all the way. Right now (since Friday's I clean) I'm hearing Let the music play on, play on, play on....All night long. All niiight. All niight. I love it! Born in the 80s baby, yea! 4:45 a.m. is when we get up, if we run. I love running now and I feel SO much better when we're running regularly... But, I used to hate running with a passion. I hated running the mile in gym to warm up. I sucked at running; and I was a pretty good athlete. I could never understand, though, why I could swim faster & for longer than most and never get tired but I could barely finish the mile in 10 minutes and not be completely out of breath. Turns out I was running like Pheobe Buffet and forgetting to breathe. Billy laughed his ass off the first time we ran together. It sounds silly that there is a "form" to running, but there is. Swimming is easy to breathe rhythmically. But it's not easy to find a pool to swim laps in every morning and then you have to drive there & back, etc... All of Billy's family are big-time runners so I thought, "What the hell. I'll try running w/ you...." And now I love it. Long story but if it helps anyone else out who can only barely finish a mile now, then great. B/c for that first couple weeks we would only run a mile/walk a mile and I was whipped. I really had to concentrate for a while to get in the habit of running & breathing while running properly. Now I can go forever and I came to love it. I pretend I'm in a race and everyone's watching and cheering me on like a super-star. And I just keep going and going and going. The most we ever run, though, is 10 miles and that's usually on the beach on a Saturday morning when the tide is low.

Well...in the interest of full disclosure, that's just what I remember from the last time we ran. I'm 26 and it was only about a year ago I decided it's probably time for me to have a work-out routine of some sort, as I figured "staying active" just wouldn't cut it much longer. We ran between two and eight miles every morning (4-5 days/week) straight for six months---and it's now been six months since I've ran. I've set the alarm every morning for a month now and every morning turned it off, set-it for an hour later and gone back to sleep...but, it's the thought that counts, right? We WILL start again next week. Oh yes. We WILL start again.

Yellow is NOT my friend.

I pace myself and can't remember the last time I sprinted a mile just to see... I can tell you we typically run 3 miles in about 20 minutes.

See, now why couldn't I just say that? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

As usual, my answer isn't black or white (pun intended.). For T-shirts, I LOVE gray. Accessories I adore purples & turquoise & orange and 60s-style patterns of all those colors together. Bags I love basic brown, black & white. Nicer shirts I love browns, black, white, greens & golds. Sweaters I love army green & other greens. I LOVE blues...but not-so-much in attire as it seems to blend too well w/ jeans which is what I wear most. But then, there's exceptions to all of those preferences, too. But if I HAAADD to pick just one.....I'd say GREEN.

I'll show you the bootie. I mean, beauty. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Oh my gosh, that reminds me of a joke. And I suck at telling jokes; I'm better at quick-wit. Not to mention I might have heard the joke here... All that aside, I'll try to tell it anyways. And old man in a convertible is speeding down the highway when he sees the flashing lights of a highway patrolman on his tail. He continues speeding, weaving in and out of cars until he reluctantly pulls over. The patrolman walks up to the old man's car and says, "Look. I've had a long day. If you can give me an excuse for your excessive speed that I've never heard before, I won't write you a ticket." The old man replied, "Years ago my wife left me for a highway patrol officer. I thought you were trying to bring her back." "Have a nice day, sir." Or something like that. Anywho...I probably screwed it up. But I'm still laughing, so who cares.
