Username: onaldupp - Classifieds Seller Scam
Meso replied to Meso's topic in Security and Scam Alerts
The following user has been reported as a scammer. The user has been linked to other usernames which were also advertising scam ads on dropzone.com. PLEASE NOTE: The ads are often generic and copied and pasted from other legitimate ads. Be careful as these sellers are sometimes able to provide extra images for the items they're 'selling' and appear legitimate. Again be suspicious of broken English, especially when the seller claims to be from a native English speaking country. Do not do business with the following username: Username: onaldupp Below is an example of a scam ad submitted by this user prior to removal. Keep a look out for similar formatted ads from other users too. [inline ona_scam.jpg] -

I can't think of anything off hand that could have caused that to happen, and isn't a bug I've come across before on dropzone.com The duplication issue we know of and that must be addressed, but can't think of anything that would cause friend requests to be sent. I don't suppose you're able to see when they were sent? The most likely cause would be accidentally clicking the friend icon next to the message button in the past.

I've gone and added this to the profiles. You'll now be able to specify the amount of tunnel hours you have.

Thanks for the heads up on this, seems something has gone a bit wonky with our comment system. We're busy looking into it now and will have it up ASAP.

Will look into this again, my coworker did forward a request to the ad hosts earlier this week regarding the mobile popups - will touch base and see what is happening on that front.
-
Such suggestions are always appreciated, I think that there is merit in it and shall put it down as something to look into.
-
We don't doubt that it would be a useful forum to some, our concern however is numbers. We couldn't justify creating a new forum section if it were to only be frequented by a handful of individuals. In reality, how many users would actually participate in such a forum? If we can establish that it would receive a worthwhile amount of contributors we're definitely not opposed to getting something going.
-
I think it's the scorecardresearch most likely, we've had trouble with that before and in turn asked the ad hosts to remove it each time. Will make sure that request goes through again.
-
Thanks! Will look into this matter and update here.
-
Hi, Please take a screenshot and attach it to this thread so that we can review it. We will need to investigate whether or not this is an ad host problem or perhaps client side malware.
-
Unkulunkulu has accurately summed it up. In the latter two examples, for example - the user had written their post and then at the end of their post they had inserted a random [.reply] which didn't have a closing tag, which would result in the post turning any text further down in that post block into a reply box.
-
We've made some adjustments and this problem should be resolved now.

Thanks for your suggestion, it's a good point, with wind tunnels now a popular form of freefly experience. We'll look into this.
