Ummm....Ahh...Hmmm... I'm not a fan of psychotropic meds. However, they can be effective while you work on coping skills for whatever is going on. If it is a neurotransmitter issue (I suspect) it may be the only way. Psychotropics are complicated and most docs are playing hit and miss. There's actually little way to avoid that. We just don't know enough about how things work in YOUR head. What works for one will put another through hell. You might want to try something else to see if it agrees with your symptoms / chemistry. Again...not a fan...just realistic. Sounds like someone I know. My first guess would be some kind of traumatic event, but not necessarily. Otherwise, it sounds like a chemical problem. Possibly related to dopamine. I do agree that believing politcal promises is silly. I also agree that holding them against the liar is a good idea. Might eventually have some small effect...maybe. I read GHWB's lips. Actually, it used to be common to have crowds gather when pot was being burned in large amounts. I've seen people holding onto the chain link fence sucking up the smoke. Pretty amusing. Interesting. Before the invasion, most everyone agreed that Iraq had WMD. They used them on Kurds. They used them on Iran. Surely they had them if they used them, right? (inescapable logic) Immediately before the invasion, planes flew to Iran and Syria for safe storage. Truck convoys streamed to Syria. Equipment that could not be transported was buried and otherwise hidden. Something was leaving that country in a hurry. Once we arrived, we didn't find WMD. Nobody cared to invade Iran or Syria to find out what was sent there. Conclusion? There was never any WMD. The intelligence services are incompetent. Two parties blame each other with great venom. What about those religions that approve of gay marriage and perform gay marriages? I think we get into a big battle over which religion is the right one when we go down this road. Some religions and even Christian denominations ordain gay ministers and sanction gay marriages. So, claiming gay marriage violates the idea of marriage being a religious institution doesn't hold up unless you claim those religions / denominations aren't religions. Where are you at that point?
