"And, of course, "beautiful" and "messed up" are both highly subjective." Of course they are. And I am fully prepared to hear that my point of view is totally off. I'm just looking for discussion. Obviously, everyone has to interpret those two items within their own field of reference. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I always wonder what the motivation is when I see someone wearing something like that! Some guys feel it is quite a thrill to tame a wild cat. I hadn't thought about that. You are saying it is actually a challenge. Could be. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I agree with most of what is said here. I think some of you think I am criticizing the women. I think I am being more critical of a world that both rewards and punishes these developing girls based on their looks. I know there are probably women who grow up perfectly well adjusted despite their looks. I just think it could easily be a curse to them sometimes. And the comment that I might just be attracted to women with issues...don't think THAT hasn't crossed my mind before. But no matter my relationship with the woman, I have found it to be this way. I just threw it out there for discussion. I have no answers. I think we are totally hurting some girls based on their looks even when we think we are not. Critics slam Georgia paper for doctored photo of governor as Nazi

And all the citizens that still have Spanish as a first language? Can you only ever be a guest if you prefer to use Spanish? Don't need a Spanish language newspaper. Yes. A resounding yes. What about all the legal Spanish speakers? They have to learn English to become citizens. Reading Spanish papers isn't likely to facilitate that. I was in Iraq for a year. I learned a great deal of Arabic and Arab ways. I embraced their ways every chance I got. If I was there as a voluntary move, I would definitely seek to become fluent in Arabic. I would never insult the Arabs to try to bring attention to my issues while publishing an English language paper for others like me. I would consider it extremely insulting to my hosts...like this event. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Interesting. I think they have a point. More Americans need to learn to speak Spanish to accomodate the illegal aliens. Until the majority bends to the will of these criminals, publishing insults is a perfectly legitimate means of redress. Wait.... Too many things wrong with that story... I am not propounding this as a universal constant. I just have this general idea that the more attractive a woman is, the greater the probability that she has issues. Attractive women seem to have the usual issues of low self-esteme, self-doubt and such like everyone else. But they also seem to have the added problem of having grown up with people giving them things, getting attention from men before being emotionally prepared for it and such. I have also found that a huge percentage have been raped at some time and that has had a terrible consequence for them. I'm not saying it is their fault. But it is a reason I don't tend to approach the women I find most attractive. Curious about other viewpoints. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 308....Is this a good cartridge for long range use?
davjohns replied to steve1's topic in Speakers Corner
Turrets are a matter of preference. Some allow you to take them off and re-set them to zero after you get sighted in. That would eliminate the problem of them getting bumped. They are essential for some shooting events like silhouette. If you are interested in long range shooting, I use to participate in a couple of sites. snipershide.com and snipercountry.com. You can find lots of information there. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. davjohns replied to steve1's topic in Speakers Corner
The Army traditionally uses the .308 because it is NATO standard. It is not the best. I think the current record sniper shot was with a .338 Lapua. There has been lots of work with the .308 to make it a decent round, but there are lots flatter trajectories with similar kill abilities. I think that was the mass shooting at Lubby's (Libby's? Not sure) Cafeteria in Texas many years ago. She was not the only one who lamented not having their usual compliment of defensive armament that day. There were a few in the restaurant who later admitted they had left weapons in their car. Edit: Wikipedia says it was Kileen TX 1991 and "Responding to the massacre,[4] in 1995 the Texas Legislature passed a shall-issue gun law, which requires that all qualifying applicants be issued a Concealed Handgun License (the state's required permit to carry concealed weapons), removing the personal discretion of the issuing authority to deny such licenses. The law had been campaigned for by Suzanna Hupp, who was present at the Luby's massacre where both of her parents were shot and killed. Hupp later expressed regret for obeying the law by leaving her firearm in her car rather than keeping it on her person in an establishment that served alcohol.[5] Hupp testified across the country in support of concealed-handgun laws, and was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1996.[6] The law was signed by then-Governor George W. Bush.[7]" I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Funny you should post this. I watched the first four hours of the Hurt version before seeing your post. Going to watch the last couple today. I like the depth of this version. I preferred the presentation of the 80's version. And Sting was a great Feyd. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. See Plyer vs Doe and that was 1982 about much the same thing in Texas. An interesting and disturbing case. I can't shepardize it. But there was no mention of asking about legal status. This case only says the state's law prohibiting public education of illegal aliens was not constitutional. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Ummmm....this is a common thing? Just for comparison; is there much difference between the parent stealing and the parent sending the child to steal? Stealing services and benefits is stealing. Why is it illegal to ask someone's status? I know that's being debated due to Arizona's recent laws. Did the SCOTUS rule it illegal to ask? The sad part is that collecting that information will create additional costs for no public benefit other than satisfying curiosity. If you want to help the problem, stop giving benefits to illegal aliens. Don't just note that they are stealing. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Ala. gov. apologizes for remarks on non-Christians
davjohns replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
If he was speaking as Governor, it wasn't something to be discussed and therefore not said. If he was speaking as Robert Bentley, he should feel free. In context, I call skydivers brother or sister all the time. I call fellow servicemembers by the same monikers. At the hang glider park; same thing. Ordinary people on the street don't get that kind of comeraderie from me. I am curious whether the same people offended by this statement were equally offended by the POTUS declaration to be on the side of Muslims; or if it just depends on your flavor as to when you get offended. I also note that the two news articles (MSNBC and FOX) had different slants on exactly what was said. The Fox one purported to be a quote that was inclusive of Christians. The MSNBC article paraphrased to exclude non-Christians. The paraphrase gave it a more offensive timber. Always question the media. They always have an axe to grind. Every media article I have seen, where I knew the facts first hand, was mis-reported. Every one. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course. -
Looking at it all wrong IMHO. Instead of spending a lot of money , time and thoughts on one person, why not spend less on several people? The more women you date at a time, the more attracted each will become on you because they can sense that they are not the only one and feel a challenge, to the point of fighting over you. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but focusing on one girl will kill your game and she will sense it. If you are only going after one girl, you'll wonder why she doesn't call back immediately and start thinking too much about it. Dating a few girls at once and then you almost appreciate not getting a call right back because you're busy with other girls. When they all call back and want to hang out at once i creates a problem, but that's a good problem. As for money on a first date, $50 that's it. She could be only worth 10, I'd rather lose 40 than 190. I can almost see the scoring system that goes along with this line of thinking. As long as all players know they are in a game, I suppose that's fine. I have no 'game' when it comes to women. I'm sure that's why I'm single. I'm OK with that. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

The complaints I drew out of the article were: nobody considered her feelings; a funny video made it to youtube; she couldn't find anything to hold onto when she went to get out of the fountain. I think she wants hand holds inside wishing fountains; people to avoid youtube and; a tissue 'you jackwagon'! I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. Ever Used Illegal Drugs? Then No Guns For You!
davjohns replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Your use of the word sounds an awful lot like "industrial haze." that's your entire rebuttal now? Are you saying guns are never illegally sold at gun shows with a wink and a nod? I've asked twice for you to document your claim that most criminals get their firearms at gunshows illegally. You have missed my requests. Now, you are hanging onto a slender thread by claiming that surely it must have happened before? I quit this thread. We've left the realm of reasonable debate. Johnson, out. Ever Used Illegal Drugs? Then No Guns For You!
davjohns replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Is it? Do you know that for a fact? Have you actually tried to buy a gun illegally on the street? Justice Dept. studies show that 79% of criminals get their guns from illegal sources. Are you going to tell us next that it's difficult for illegal drug users to buy dope on the street? "Illegal sources" is not the same thing as "the street." "The street" implies some shady character standing next to a drug dealer and a hooker on the corner, when in fact, most of these illegal gun sales are taking place via "gun shows." Now, do you want to talk about the "gun show" loopholes? http://www.gunshowundercover.org/ I'll bother you for a source on your statement of fact. I've been to many gun shows. I've bought many firearms. I have seen no evidence to support your declaration that illegal sales are going on there. Please explain how you know that most illegal sales are going on there. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
