  1. so what? it's the primary purpose of society based justice. It's not just "attractive" - it's what is right. So hanging onto the unproven subjective rules (like age) is just simpler/lazier - but less just and not effective at protecting society. it's much better than allowing the bias of people's emotions concerning anyone, including children that have adult concepts of judgement and consequences. It's not just difficult. It would bankrupt society. We have to be able to transact some cases at lower levels. If there is evidence that a higher level of scrutiny is warranted, you go to the next level. The evaluation and application of resources begins at the lowest level and goes up. If you had read the whole post, you would see that I said jumping to CSI level of investigation of every case is not tenable. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  2. You mean the cruise is already over? Guess she didn't take me, huh? Or did she take me, get me drunk, take adavantage of me repeatedly and I just don't remember? I'll go with the second option. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  3. I thought it was a derivative of 'flicking the bean' and the guy was caught 'choking the chicken' contrary to sharia law. I was curious if that was actually against sharia law. This story is mildly interesting. Why is this guy news? Why did he want back so badly? Where did he get the money? What was he up to? And why is Beaner an insult to Mexicans? In this context, it seems to be an insult only directed to illegal border crossers. Do we have to be polite to the ones that are entering the country illegally? Are we afraid to hurt the feelings of criminals? Surely we should go down to the jail and pay our respects to the rapists and murderers there? I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  4. I was trying to have an adult discussion and the children showed up. Nobody is calling a child an adult. The terminology is that the child is being tried as an adult. The child, having assumed an adult role and being adjudicated as having adult understanding of those actions, is afforded the consequences an adult in similar posture would endure. The dog and cat metaphor is useless. The child is still a child just like a cat is still a cat. But some children have a greater understanding of their actions and consequences than others. It is important that these children be dealt with where they are for the protection of society. Pretending they have the simplistic understanding accorded to their age does not help anyone. If you discovered a dog had a disease that is normally associated with cats, you would treat that dog with the medicine that cured that disease. You wouldn't declare it impossible to cure just because it was in a dog. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  5. My daughter is quite attractive. She developed large breasts WAY too early. She has received inordinate attention from males. I am trying to keep her from going 'bat shit crazy'. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  6. I ignored this thread for a while because I was afraid 'rig' was a metaphor for 'package'. (A metaphor itself, I know.) I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  7. I disagree entirely. . So you think calling a dog "cat" makes it a cat. Okayyy. I hope that was a joke. If so...got it. If not, ignoring that I disagree with your conclusion and pretending I disagree with your ridiculous metaphor is juvenile. It puts you in a category of people who are not worthy of debate. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  8. Where to start. Keeping a 16 year old rapist / murderer from continuing this path of criminal behavior is slightly different from denying him the ability to vote, get drunk, drive or have certain jobs. Arbitrary legal ages for those things do not endanger the person or society. Arbitrarily deciding that the same 16 year old will not serve but a nominal amount of time for his crime is whole new world. Historically, the law has presumed that certain ages had reduced or no capacity to appreciate criminality. Most states consider a child under seven incapable of criminal intent. In reality, there are those who certainly can. Determining probability of recidivism like you propose is attractive, but difficult in the extreme. It would require lots of research, investigation, testimony and debate in courts. It would also have to completely ignore the bias people have to hope for the best out of children. We all want to believe the seven year old can be taught to be a good person. The law accepts this and saves us the trouble of proving it in every case. We only have to prove when there is an exception. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. 9. I'm not sure why the financial geniuses had such difficulty. I heard ads on the radio routinely telling people they should borrow 125% of the value of their home to buy a big screen TV and go on vacation. Meanwhile, I was sinking every extra dollar into my home to reduce my monthly payments. I thought it was pretty clear that someone who owes 125% more than the mortgaged property is now encouraged to default. But what do I know? The government didn't offer ME a bailout. 10. Eh. Now that I know the vote isn't binding, it's not really a big deal.
  11. You're beautiful and you're not messed up.
  12. Poor wording on my part. I also draw the distinction between overall attractiveness (personality, intelligence, body language, etc.) and what can be seen in a photo. In my original question, I was only talking about women who look good in a photo compared to who they are inside. I agree that the total package = attractiveness. Ya know.. it ain't all THAT far from Huntsville to Orlando..... Just sayin. LOL! I'm overdue for a trip to Orlando and I've been trying to find a place in the calendar for it. Skydiving, hang gliding and SCUBA that close together. My idea of heaven. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  13. I disagree entirely. Some children have the faculty to make adult decisions, appreciate the criminality and impact of their actions, and take criminal action. They make adult decisions and should endure adult consequences. Otherwise, the preternaturally mature minor would use the minority status as a shield. IE: "I am 16. They can't lock me up for long. I'll kill the ten people at school who are annoying me." In this case, the potential to be tried as an adult acts as a deterent. I agree, however, that it should always be a case by case basis. It is a time of transition for humans and blanket rules are to be avoided. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  14. This is another time that I would like to be slightly obnoxious about my well wishes on BF, but Mama would disapprove. So, a simple Happy Birthday to you my friend!
  15. Awww...what a kind thing to say...lol. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

  17. I've of course been 'out of the game' for quite a while now... But it was an interesting dynamic to watch at the DZ one weekday last summer. Gorgeous young girl, early 20's comes to the dropzone with her boyfriend...he's doing a tandem. EVERY swingdick stud-muffin in the place was trying to swoop the poor girl every time she was more than 20 feet away from her guy...each one dong his own variation of a fertility dance. It was an interesting thing to watch. Over the course of a couple hours, she went from 'new situation shy' to 'standoff-ish' to 'bitchy cold'... She didn't appear to have any issues other than the 'harassment' she was getting primarily because of her looks. Begs the question, maybe 'some' beautiful women are bat-shit crazy...because WE make 'em that way? I think this was part of my original proposition. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  18. Rats! I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  19. Your number one and two propositions seem to be at odds to me. Alabama allows one to plead Youthful Offender status until 21 (and sometimes later). If you don't do anything else, your record is sealed. That might satisfy your concerns about 18 being a point of demarcation. I think today's kids are much more violent than in past times. It is probably pushing the courts to try them as adults earlier. I think we need to figure out how we are doing this to our kids and reverse this trend. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  20. This is just a poll, right? If I make up fake screen names and vote for myself alot, it doesn't effect the outcome, does it? I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  21. ??? Who the heck says that? Oh yeah...engineers. That's why nobody else has ever heard this 'age old saying'. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  22. I don't think it matters that it was a girls' sport. Scores like that are extreme. It's just a game. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  23. One of my best friends in high school was just drop dead gorgeous. We'd go clubbing and she couldn't walk a foot without some guy reaching out to try to get her attention. Another guy stopped us in the mall once to run a line about putting her in music videos and one guy once described her to my boyfriend as a "walking wet dream." She was also one of the most down to earth, kind, intelligent, heads up, centered people I've known. She was fortunate to just be naturally attractive - no hours in front of the mirror trying to look like anyone else or following trends. She did put in effort with makeup and clothes, just not a ton of it. No rape issues (at least last time I checked). No entitlement. Just an amazing person who last time I checked had her own opthamology practice and was the mother of two beautiful children. So, I think she's a perfect example that your idea is not some universal constant. Perhaps your definition of beauty happens to encompass a biased sample? Do you find that most of the women you date have hair that exact right shade of blonde? Or are they all almost white-blonde? That's just one little example of a red flag to me. It's one thing when a woman likes to change up her look and goes from red to black to blue to blonde to whatever. It's a whole different story when she feels compelled to dye her hair a color that everyone else uses and defines as the "appropriate" color. I don't want to touch off any sort of rape debate, but this just seems like such a sweeping statement that I had to at least highlight it and say you may be working with a biased sample. What drew you to these women? Did they need a rescuer or a strong man to protect them? If so, why? As at least one poster above has said "beauty" and "messed up" are all in the eye of the beholder. It's quite possible that the friend I described above wouldn't even catch your eye. I don't know what you go for, but the friend I described is definitely not proto-typical American blonde. I'm really lax with my definition of beauty, so that isn't much of an issue. I am pretty sure you are correct in saying my sampling is biased. I'm just looking for other opinions / experience. Thanks for the insightful comments. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  24. I would love to find some unique and slightly annoying way to wish you a wonderful birthday...but mama would ban me again. Happy Birthday anyway! I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
  25. Who is Kim? And assuming I am the Happy Birthday Deedy guy, who voted for me? Hey, I'm up for a cruise. I've been wanting to get around to one anyhow. I'll get my SCUBA stuff together. Edit - Oh. Her? I've always liked her. Cool. Vote for me! I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
