If Bill Gates was found to be using Macs, it might be comparable. He didn't. He was a greedy SOB. Sustainability would require that people not do what Gore is doing. This is, of course, unless one wants to grant exceptions to a chosen group whose hearts apparently lie in the right place. You don't know that. You have no information whatever on the sustainability of that house. Go research sustainability, since you clearly do NOT know what is involved. Sustainability has nothing to do with size and does NOT mean abstinence despite the right's attempts to suggest that it does. Pull your head out of the sand look up. Do you really believe the average person can afford to burn the amount of fuel his jet burns? that alone will make his carbon footprint larger than the average person. You are a professor, calculate the carbon emissions of his jet and get back to me.
-
How do you know that he hasn't? The property isn't new. Any rich person could have bought it. You have no idea of the level of sustainability that is involved in its upkeep under Gore's ownership. For the right wing ignoramuses out there, sustainability does NOT mean abstinence. Everybody funny, now you funny too. Gore obviously has a problem witht the size of his penis. Why else would he need 2 huge homes. I'll bet he drives a 'vette too. Why does Bill Gates? Why did Ken Lay need 8 homes? Why don't you folks go research "sustainability" and report back when you actually know something. I haven't heard those 2 tell everyone they need to cut back or the world will burn up. Gore is a hypocrite and used fear to help start the green movement and made millions off it. Gore, Michael Moore, and others like them used capitalism to make millions and then badmouth the system that let them live the American dream and want to shut down capitalism so others can't have the chance to live the life they have. Michael Moore is heavily invested in Haliburton and companies like Halibuton but critisizes them and the system that makes him money. Just another liberal hypocite making money off the little people.

yep you are right, except that the guy cheating on his wife is not costing every single person in the country a large portion of their income.
-
liberal minds usually make me say " what the fuck!" and this is another perfect example.
-
Bullshit, it is the limit that keeps them out. I know people that have come here that do not have the skills but did file the paperwork and got granted the visa and then got their citizenship.
-
Don't interject logic - you could be banned. I have been told by farmers I know (but I have no independent confirmation, so perhaps an AZ expert could), that in the State of Arizona, minimum wage legislation is waived for agricultural employees and also service staff (waiters/waitresses). I know the waitress one but they do get tips that is why they are waived.
-
no but alot of them would be the ones collecting free stuff and draining our recourses like med care and welfare. If they really wanted to come here they would do what is needed.
-
the fact is they are here illegally and collecting benifits and taking jobs from americans, filling our jails. lets fix these issues first then we can work on the other issue about migrant worker visas. just because there is an issue now with visas doesn't give them the right to climb a fence and break the law.
-
I think there is a minumum wage law isn't there?

Did you ever think it's dishonest to tell people to leave and come back through the front door, when (for them) there is no front door? Do you have the cajones to say (or write) for all to see that in your mind Latin Americans are "crooks thiefs and other undesireable people"? Don I didn't say all latin american's are theifs and crooks, the front door is to weed out those that are.

[reply then let them fill out the paperwork and become legal and the problem would be solved. In the mean time send them home and make them earn the trip here and maybe they will apreciate being here more. Tell us, what paperwork is available to be filled out by a hardworking, uncomplaining, America-supporting, taxpaying foreigner who wants to come and work here in a chicken plant or as a farm worker? the papers that make them legal to be here, you should know, like the ones you filled out to be here. You of all people should apreciate the aliens that fill out papers and do what is legal and right to be here. My experience is not relevant - I didn't want to work in the fields or a chicken plant. It's (relatively) easy for people with PhDs. What difference does the type of work make? Because they want to cut grass should make it ok to brake the law? That is like saying the police won't give tickets to speeders driving a cadilac. Breaking the law is breaking the law. When I get caught beaking the law I get the standard punishment, why should the illegals get the standard punishment?
-
So it is ok to be here illegal becuase there is an issue with the law that you disagree with? Did you ever think there are limits to what a country can handle so the limts are designed to keep the flow of immagrants to a manageable level and keep the possible crooks thiefs and other undesireable people out?

maybe if the illegals were sent home, then the companies would have to look into helping them fill out the paper work to be here legally or hire american workers at a fair wage.

since we agree on the legal status and the constitution does not benifit them the right to stay here, what is your issue on getting rid of the high cost, revenue sucking, and thieving illegals?
-
Why is that relevant? significance So it's OK to deny rights to a group as long as they are not "significant" in your sight. OK, nice to know how you feel. They are not citizens, therefore they have no rights in reguards to being in the US. The people in the group he was referring to were citizens. the thread is about illegals and that is what I am refering to. In that case, you should have clarified your context, because the specific posts you were "in reply to" were about a different group altogether. clarify what? this thread is about illegals, if they were legal we would have nothing to talk about.

If you read and understood what I wrote, yes. I didnot say they had no rights, I said they have no rights as far as being here since they are illegal. If you could find something in the constitution that says differently please show me.

I'm not sure about that what in the constitution gives them any rights as far as being here?

isn't that what you are doing? I am sure your forefathers worked a lot harder than you ever did. I haven't found a man yet that hasn't been told that by dad, gandpa etc. So now it has some to the place where family successes are equated to government nanny state hand outs? Wow......... It is amazing how fucked up the liberal mind can be

tell them to play in their country, if their country doesn't have a baseball field they can petition their government to build one. Why should my hard work to pay taxes go to those that did not even have the right to the results of my hard work. So you're against baseball. Are you against Mom and apple pie, too? Are you a Communist? no just against freeloaders collecting on others hard work and sacrifice

you mean why should they give up their seats to someone that is illegal to be there.
