I understand your point but what do you do after the sales of the product becomes large enough for a major overseas company to produce and undercut the US company? that is the problem, every time we produce a product and work out the bugs an overseas company picks it up and produces it cheaper. that leaves the company in a difficult spot to stay competitive. now they need to cut quality, pay or move to a different country to stay in business.
-
every one on the left thinks you can, just ask Obama and biden
-
people in the US for the most part don't want better products, they want cheaper products so your Idea won't work.
-
there is no simple answer to this situation, but I think we should put some tarrifs on foriegn companies that don't follow some things like osha and epa guidelines. ease the regulations and tariffs in slowly and see how it works. We need to make the US a profitable place to do business
-
Problem with that line of thinking is we aren't the big dogs on the block anymore. This is like me calling the bank that holds my mortgage and telling them to fuck off. We owe China so much money. I don't want to see what happens if we miss a payment. Hopefully they only repo the West coast. why should companies sacrifice because the US government fucked us with all this debt? the government needs to fix their issues. the companies will just move out until the situation is fixed.
-
I didn't say they were good or bad, the debate I was talking about was a level playing field for companies to compete while staying here in the US. All the regulations here make it cheaper over there. Instead of free trade we should have equal trade when our regulations are maintained. meaning foriegn companies that sell here in the US should follow our regulations.
-
other issues are government related like epa regulations taxes and labor laws that other countryes don't follow. companies just want a level playing field to be able to compete. It is too bad that American companies do not consider the well being of the American people. The greatest threat to this country is the loss of our ability to have the jobs needed for a viable economy. It should be a priority National Security issue. Its very shortsighted for American companies... if the people here have no money to buy the products they produce, it beomes a downward sprial to being in a similar position to third world shitholes. companies are thinking, cheaper production over seas = lower cost product. It is the government here doesn't seem to understand that. now that many conpanies have set up over seas they don't need to care about the US workforce. Priority National Security issue is the US governments concern not the companies.

no profit no business and that means no jobs. Profits are not evil they are needed to stay in business. Profit is not the problem, uneaqual trade caused by large wages here and more taxes here causing prices to go up and no longer being competitive is the problem. we can either lower saleries taxws and land cost or get other countries to increase their saleries taxws and land costs or we will continue to see manufacturing go overseas.
-
I think if we do nothing and more jobs leave the US our standard of living will continue to drop.

this is NOT the sole push of republican's - both parties push their brand of morality on the rest of us. That's the problem - two parties eaach defined by a social agenda that requires a lot of spending - zero parties defined by fiscal agenda based on frugality You do seem to forget ONE party in particular that whipped up so much fear of two guys getting married to get all those who wish morality was legislated out to the polls. It IS one of their best wedge issues that they use every election. They also wish to legislate out of existence.. a womans right to choose to not have a child no matter HOW she got to that point, rape or incest... no problem. I think you missread the document, it is ok though, we can blame your liberal teacher. the document says no taxpayer money will fund abortion. not no abortions.

Really? The Great Depression occurred under Harding, Coolidge and Hoover, was fixed under 20 years of FDR and Truman. The debt crisis of the 80's occurred under mostly Reagan, but the rate of damage was highe runder GWHB in spite of the fact that he made small changes to try to reverse it. The debt mess was stopped under Clinton. The mortgage meltdown oiccurred under GWB, now Obama has to fix it. So I don't see your, "they both do it" secenario. you need to see who wrote the bills and stopped the bills before placing blame. all you can seem to see is whats on the surface. Take the blinders off and open your eyes. Just under 20 million jobs were created under reagan and 10 million under bush, how many has Obama created? and you can't blame the recession because reagan had one to. -

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/sep/16/four-million-americans-poverty-one-year I guess many out here don't really understand what poverty is and are gulible enough to be mislead. There is a difference between a lower income and poverty. Poverty is what I have seen in third world countries. Low income is what I see here. The reb's blame the dem's and the dem's blame the reb's. What we really have is government steeling the income from people (by the way of taxes) to support their agendas. More people would have higher incomes if the government would ruduce spending and lower taxes on those that produce jobs. Also government needs to protect american jobs and manufacturing by giving concessions to companies that keep jobs here in the US and hire legal citizens. -
He does a lot moore. he has almost as much air time as anyone on fox news.

Largest growing group seeking public assistance !
marks2065 replied to skygypsie's topic in Speakers Corner
maybe it has something to do with Obama talking about his mother collecting food stamps while going to college, If it is ok for lazy barry and his mom, it must be ok for the rest. -
Why don't you give credit where credit is due? Your beloved rescumlicans took a quality health care bill and twisted into the fucked up piece of crap that passed. If you sons of bitches would get out of the way, the country could make real progress towards cleaning up the mess CREATED by the rescumlicans. Corporate ownership of the media means the message delivered make the sheeple blame the Democrats for the lack of progress. They don't say much of anything about the complete obstruction of EVERYTHING by the rescums. Thanks for cheering on the ruination of the USA. I am sure you are very proud of the success in this endeavor. The reb's? the dems had enough to pass, the dem's could not convince their own people, that is how bad the bill is.

since when is making a congressmens pay based on how well they do socialism? that would be capitalism. Also since their boss does not set thier pay I would say that socialism is how it is run now. They could consider a raise a bonus for a job well done, something the left doesn't seem to understand. As far as governmnet programs go, the military is defense and care for the soldier should be part of defense spending. social programs would receive the bigest hits since the fed gov wasn't supposed to run those anyways. As far as GDP goes, in order to change the percentage or definition the people would have to vote for the changes.
-
No, not always true. I receive no federal assistance and don't want any. I think any program that does not fall under defense or common infrastructire should be severely cut or illiminated. Welfare, pet projects (earmarks), bailing out the states, and other programs should be greatly reduced or cut completely. I even think soso security should be eliminated as a common fund and set up as a personal fund, that way people that didn't pay in much (like foriegners that work for 4 or 5 years) can't collect more than they paid in. The only people that would be hurt are those that are lazy and unmotivated. there are exception but a very small percentage. Also government spending should be locked into a percentage of GDP with a vote of the people to increase it. Congress should have their raises (or decreases ) based on GDP increase or decrease.
-
got a whole bunch of San Francisco voters that disagree with you. Case in point - in 2007 as the Dems assumed control of Congress, she shut down any notions of impeachment considerations against Bush. only because it would hurt the democrats. Polosi isn't stupid, just completely fucking wrong and a two faced lieing bitch.

Tarp was under bush and alot of that has been repaid, stimulus was under Obama and that was given mostly to extend Obama's lefty policies and very little went to actual job creation.

I'm glad that the UN has so much time . . .
marks2065 replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
the UN couldn't find any REAL human rights violations in other countries that would probably be considered actual Human rights violations? the UN is not about human rights but political control of those that allow themselves to be controled. the countries with actual human rights violations just tell the UN to fuck off and the UN leaves them alone. Maybe we should do the same.
