  1. http://www.alternet.org/news/145560/white_racial_resentment_bubbles_under_the_surface_of_the_tea_party_movement Almost anything can be twisted to mean what ever you want. Most racist comments are really not racist at all but are twisted to be racist. Maybe the rest of the world should do what me and my wife do, take comments as they are meant not how they could be twisted. this solves alot of problems and adds alot of good to the relationship. to bad most people cannot do the same.
  2. I don't understand the figures, how can unemployment drop with a net loss in jobs? or is it that unemployment dropped because people just ran out of benifits and have been dropped from the figures?
  3. Not the tax bracket structure. The tax code is rigged. Your rate has little to do with your actual tax after your income has been adjusted down to your taxable income through deductions and loopholes. The wealthiest pay most of the tax, yes. But they can do so even though they pay a lower (or even the same) actual tax rate (I'm generalizing) because they make orders of magnitude more money. 7% tax on a $10,000,000 income is a whole lot more going into the Treasury than what, 100-200 average Joes? but don't the average Joe's need to pay their fair % also? why should anyone get a free ride? and who will pay the average Joe when uncle sam taxed that money out of the rich guy? why should the gov tax so much to employ so many when the private sector employs more for less? the 2 million people employed the the fed gov could easily be 3 million employed in the private sector.
  4. Is that your tax rate or is that what you actually pay? Those are two different things, often misused in these debates. We used to have a Treasury Secretary who publicly boasted about paying less than zero in taxes for his business. And now we have one that can't figure out Turbotax. at least the one before understood how the tax system operated. knowledge of how your job works should be required to get the job.
  5. the east side of the wall was a socialist dictatorship, the west side is mostly just socialist. America is fighting becoming a socialist country. It was founded on free enterprise and a small government and most of us would like to keep it that way.
  6. we all want the economy to recover, we just don't like Obama's far left aproach. I want Obama to do good with the country but fail at turning us more towards socialism.
  7. you are correct but they can pay for advertising not donate to the actual campaign if I understood the article about what the judge said at the sotu speach.
  8. make EVERYONE pay their fare share and cut the budget at the dollar amount collected would be a good start.
  9. and after Obama's first year of broken promises and lies, what story is probably more believable?
  10. The koolaid impares the ability to think clearly and leaves you open to abuse by the government.
  11. but I don't think profiling should be illegal
  12. I don't want that bus run into by a mom putting on makeup, someone texting, or a realtor reading a map, or a contractor digging in his backseat, or a college professor grading papers either....... I consider these all to be the same issue - from what I can tell, you guys want 5 different laws..... or, you are ok with those children dying due to 4 out of 5 of those things I guess you never heard of the word "trend". A list of every distraction would be infinitely long so it is appropriate to prioritize. Accident stats show very convincingly that texting has become a major problem. Please tell us how many accidents were caused in the USA by professors grading papers while driving in the last decade. pulling over all people that are texting is profiling and according to the left profiling is illegal.
  13. Got a link to that statement? And it would also be instructive to which dim bulb MINION came up with this bright idea If you dont think the NO BID CONTRACTS that went to Bush Administration friends ( and former employers) came right from the horses asses mouths.. I got some tropical property on Baffin Island I would like to sell you., Again WHERE THE FUCK was all YOUR moral outrage for all the HUNDREDS of BILLIONS that went into friends pockets by your lords and Masters from 2001 to 2008?????? Nope.. not a peep from you or your fellow travellers then[/mad] I did not comment on the contracts wether they are good or bad, just that Obama said in his campaign speeches that it was not going to happen under his presidency and bush did not say that. that would make Obama a liar. Still waiting for that link... to where he said that and where OBAMA actually signed something??? Maybe you can find that info on the EIB web site... where most of the fringe right keeps their brains. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/promise/30/end-no-bid-contracts-above-25000/ Do you ever actually read the crap you post???? An e-mail from White House spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield and OMB spokesman Ken Baer said the president has directed agencies to cut so-called "high-risk contracting authorities," which include no-bid contracts, by 10 percent this year alone. "Improving federal contracting and ensuring that our taxpayer dollars are spent well are top priorities," their e-mail said. "The President has charged federal departments and agencies with saving $40 billion annually by Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 through terminating unnecessary contracts, strengthening acquisition management, ending the overreliance on contractors, and reducing the use of high-risk contracts across government. The government’s major contracting agencies – which account for more than 98 percent of contract spending – are on track to meet this goal, identifying more than $19 billion of savings for the first year of this reform effort." Progress? Watchdogs such as the Project on Government Oversight say yes. But that's still not fulfilling Obama's pledge to require competitive bidding for all contracts over $25,000. So we rate this one a Promise Broken. There is a difference a campaign pledge and a lie.. but that would not interfere with a good ole boy bash agin the man now would it.. Interwsting the fring erights gettin all BUTT HURT again.. over this one... compared to your performance in the preceeding 8 years I still want to see where OBOMBER as yall like to call him... did this one personally..... AS opposed to Slick DICK and his feeding at the Halliburton Trough....oink oink oink what? I prooved he is a liar and that offends you?
  14. you are missing the point, it is not that you paid 100% but that you contributed to it. maybe the actual cost you contribute when young is very small, but you did contribute, and as you get older your contribution gets larger until you are taking care of yourself and then are helping someone else to do the same. I see to many kids nowdays that haven't learned anything about taking care of their responsibilities until they are out of college. their contribution to their own welfare was zero until that point now they are overwelmed buy having to do it all at once. they have no work ethic, ability, or desire to work for their own prosperity. We have less and less people to pay for more and more people because of attitudes like yours. Not saying your attitude is not nobel, but it does breed lazyness and entitlement attitudes from the children and harms them and us in the future.
  15. wrong again Bill, I did the chores at my house and that contributed to the house that paid the taxes that paid for my school. maybe I didn't hand the school cash but I did contribute to pay for my education. I pay taxes now that contributes to many kid's education and they will do the same, but that does not mean they shouldn't work in some way to contribute to that education.
  16. yes and I worked in the lunch room to pay for my lunches in 1st and 2nd grades and in 5th and 6th grades I worked the cross walks in morning and after school to pay for lunches
  17. Wait, wait, wait . . . doesn't the Lord's prayer specifically say "GIVE US this day our daily bread"? Wasn't it Jesus that fed the 5,000? Didn't someone say "give someone a fish and he will eat today - teach someone how to fish and he'll feed himself for life" I like to live in real life not in a book that may or may not be fiction. Does that include them buying the fishing license that they can't afford too and waiting for the right season.. or are you suggesting they break the laws in all of the states not for kids, no license needed to fish under 15 Depends on the state Depends on the species Depends on the size Depends a LOT on the seasons Depends a lot on the limits.. That makes for a whole lot for a 5 year old to learn. Perhaps feeding them for a yew years might be in order.. no, perhaps teaching them to feed themselves might be in order

  20. I have been working and paying for things since I was old enough to push a lawn mower or shovel snow or deliver papers. there should never be a free ride for anyone at any time. even doing chores at your house should start after you can walk and talk. Giving things away only promotes an entitlement attitude and that is what has been taught to our children. Sorry Bill, this time you are wrong.
  21. And the problem with Cons is that they have no problem handing out free dinners and a seven figure bonus to people who do their jobs so badly that they ruin the lives of thousands of other taxpayers. Since we're throwing out blanket generalizations I thought I'd chime in. no I think you need to stop spinning and understand that the fat cats get their bonus's after messing up the company because they found they cannot be held resposible for their actions thanks to the corporate shield developed by the court system, and that is generally run by the liberals.

  23. Except where the logic is flawed. Has anyone considered that it might be difficult for the parents of a working poor family to attend the conferences? I'm a father in a working unpoor family and if my wife and I were not on flexible schedules we couldn't pull it off. On the other hand, if you're one of the very few families these days who can afford to have one parent stay at home (and maintain a middle class lifestyle) , then I could see how you might not understand. That is why you include the kids. The parents may or may not be deadbeats but having the kid earn his lunch by adding extra studies or help clean the lunch room and other projects that benifit the kid will help develope the kid into a productive adult.
