  1. This one time during AFF..... Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  2. You are A licensed correct? Even students should question DZO's and instructors. And just feel the need to say it. AGAIN. We can only speculate what went on here. We have the "account" of someone who already claims they are way to inexperienced to know what is going on. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  3. Mine is.... 31B7F73B Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  4. :8: Despite the rain on Thursday, Friday and half of Saturday I managed to get in 8 jumps. I did a hop and pop after some static line students. Two jumps (first thus the beer) taking harness holds to practice for my AFF I course in October. (Need to work on inverting student on their back - haven't tried that yet). On Sunday I was asked to help as an Evaluator in a coach course, so I made 5 jumps evaluating new coach candidates. Such an awesome time in the air this weekend :) Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  5. That seems high. I have shipped rigs and have been sent a rig (last year) and I don't think it was that much. It may be because I am smack in the middle of the country and not near the distance... but yeah that seems like crap! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  6. I'll give you 1100 for it!!! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  7. Sorry to disappoint anyone who was hoping to see the non-feline type of pussy... but come on it would have been really misleading if I titled it "My Pussy"... because who has more than one pussy that isn't of the feline type?! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  8. You don't say the pussies name while petting? Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  9. Thanks Lisa... I am pretty sure those are what I am going with... just fits in my with Golden Retriever named Quincy. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  10. need names. Any suggestions? Black and White is a boy and Calico is a girl. They came with the names Dave and Maeve from the shelter. I was thinking Sebastian and Elsie (short for Elsinore). Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  11. Diet Coke came out of my nose on that one! Ohhhhh the burn!!! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  12. I don't think it is a great deal. You seem rather small (no insult intended) for a J5. That is a BIG rig. What is your exit weight? Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  13. I went to Playa Del Carmen last year and spent a week. I also saw the "dz" and landing area it was very small. I didn't have my gear with me so I was unable to jump. But if you are going to Cancun I would recommend Playa Del Carmen over Cancun. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  14. Hey Tuna... I think that is the thing I was trying to say is that it was mostly likely typical tandem Instructor banter, but since we weren't there we don't know... it is all pure speculation of what happened. I also feel like if he was paying that close attention to detail then he should have asked his Instructor in the plane. Had the harness been too loose and posed a safety threat it wouldn't have done any good for this guy to say "I noticed this in the plane but didn't say anything to anyone". We need to encourage our students to talk to us if something isn't right. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  15. Poser, I think the general consensus here is that tandem instructors often will play and joke around with their students. This isn't meant to scare anyone, but typically they are reading their students expressions and adjusting their levels of joking to that. Not typically to the rest of the plane. Also, I would recommend you ask the questions to your instructors in the moment. Posting to a public forum will get you nothing but speculation. We were not there. We didn't see the chest strap and hear the tone of the others involved. While there are some kudos to being aware of equipment and other jumpers - being aware won't help you if you bring it up after the fact. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  16. Not disconnected, but removed. In your photo the RSL lanyard is shown with the cutaway pillow. A Master rigger is the only one allowed to remove the RSL from the container of a Javelin. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  17. Just out of curiosity did you remove your RSL from your Javelin? I just had an issue with my Javelin not having RSL and not noted on my packing data card as being removed by Master Rigger. I bought it used that way and had it inspected and packed twice without the notation. I asked that rigger what the deal was and he "thinks" the alteration was registered with Sunpath. Using the handy dandy search function here on dz.com (as well as Sunpath's website) to find that if it isn't on the packing data card and in the riggers log book that your rig is not airworthy. Sorry to get off track... Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  18. Why? If you have to ask why then you don't use FB very much. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  19. Why are you trying to save his ass? Just curious. If someone can't save their own ass why would you want to try? Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  20. Ketia... depending on your fall rate, tight is good. I fall kinda slow so my jump suit is very fitted. See attached... Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  21. Can't give you much advice without a little taste testing... Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  22. hehehe.... Ketia I was in a bidding war with you for that suit on eBay. I was thinking it would be good for Anthony... he is 5'8" and about 160ish... I was worried it would be a little too long... if it doesn't fit maybe it would fit him.... Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  23. I have an original Cypres and have never had the problem of turning it off. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  24. Yes, I got the July and August issue less than a week after I ordered them... which was sometime about a month ago or so. Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
  25. Nope. I just subscribed and retro'd it back to July so I could have my subscription from Day 1. I think they are doing a fantastic job over there! Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
