Thanks HH, this site is the source of most of my my corruption and depravity, not to mention nudity, gross indecency and insanity. WHat would I do without you (and it)?!!!! .....Probably become a mundane drone that actually contributed productively at work....Do I want that? NO!!!! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Considering I'm usually known as the Happy Police (ie you better be happy or you'll have to put up with me!!) my "Give a shit" button is almost broken. Jet Lag, Uni, family, illness, no bf, blah blah blah! Yeah my give a shit is not quite up to it! Wanna know how to fix it? Wag morning work: "specialist appointment" (I'll give you an appointment card if you like) and go do a jump. That's what I'm doing tomorrow! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Skybitch's is now "the Rack"! Bbarnhouse is "Perky" (nice one!) I'm "Trouble". So what is your nickname and (more importantly)how did you get it? xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I like my helmet, been kicked too many time in the head doing tube exits, 10way speeds (No, I DON"T have a target on my head!?!) & 16-way exits. Ouch! No seriously, my mates haven't had a prob with it. If you lose your goggles (theft, riser slap, whatever) you WILL lose it though. Give it a try, you may prefer it. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I severely doubt there's any difference b/n them here and over there. You have to loop them through again as if tying them on originally. You have to keep the tension on them because they're less likely to snap and more likely to stretch than rubber bands. I've got nothing against tube stoes, just look after them and yourself. ps I don't know what you guys mean by bungee, but I was referring in my original post to stretching liike a bungee cord, as in the variety you use to jump off bridges! ps Read The F MANUAL! Nobody seems to do this anymore!? Its created for a reason, not just as extra packaging to make the bag look like its better value for money!!!?! (This was not intended as a personal attack on you SPY) xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

The original number quoted by Larry was 7/10 and that was in the USA...the question is are there more rigs with rubber bands or more rigs with tube stowes?! I found it to be closer to 6/10 but not by much. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Been there done that. Got to be a TV presenter for Nickelodeon for a little while. Filmed us 24/7. Not fun. You learn to hide from the cameras what you need to....but you still come off looking bad! No seriously, this is what happens when we make people famous ofr the wrong reasons. She didn't save lives, she didn't come up with a formula of notable intellectual value and she certainly doesn't come up looking good in cinema/tv! She got famous for tits that aren't real, for spreading her legs for money and photos, and for marrying a stupid idiot with more testosterone than brain cells. The fact that we took any notice of her in the first place is why we're being punished now! Touche! Mwaaaaaaahaaaaahaaaahaaa! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

As long as you maintain them (ie TIGHTEN them! [RTFI-read the f. instructions!]) Tube stows are fine. Problem is that 75% of the jumping community can't be arsed (I count myself here and took tube stows OFF my new rig) to do this and their tube stoes behave more like bungee than rubber bands (ie they won't snap and they won't release). The worst statistic ever heard on this in an arguement was that about 6 out of 10 bag locks happen on rigs with tube stows. Beg to differ? CHeck the incident book at your DZ and ask around.....its usually around about this number! Very scary. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Nice one sista! Its all part of the learning process.... blue skies and soft landings to ya xxj

I'm with hobbes4star. they usually end up using too much of their product. No we NEVER did that at our DZ. (If you knew my dad you'd know why!) xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Ummm true story: 4th July Independence Day. Bad day to pick to fly right? Guy who was in front of me got strip searched, another businees class passenger was padded down. Me? They just x-ray'd my bag twice looked me up and down and let me through. The problem? I'd just got a video camera, with all its little metal components; discman, with extra electrical wiring; ditter with batteries and an alti on board without them even glancing at my shoes. I had enough on me to make a bomb. The bigger problem? I'd got a manicure kit of nail clippers, nail file AND scissors aboard an airbus on what was meant to be the tightest airport security day outside of upcoming Spetember 11. What was that story? That the head of Dallas airport security drove to Wyoming for his holiday...can't guess why! However on that note, I could have got a "porcelain" sidearm onboard with alot less hassle. Y'anyways, the point is that if we really do security properly, check every single bag by hand etc, they've already won 'cause we've lost our freedom. Blue skies soft landings y'all (and scuse the spelling I'm sensory-dyslexic today!) xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Like I said Joe, if you're here in person you can get away with a whooooooole lot more! Besides the photos are with a naughty individual in Sweden at the moment.....but don't worry.....I'll get 'em soon enough......I've got the footage though! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."
-
You'll find Joe has a funny habit of slipping up, like asking to see the crevices on the photos I was sending him....needless to say he hasn't got 'em.....yet....... Yes they're levis, tight fit. Yummmmmm. I once got asked if I needed a hand to get 'em on, but I've lost a pant size whilst away in Europe so they're almost baggy now! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

That said.........bloody funny thread!!!!!! Mwaaaaahaaaahaaahaa Your "poetry" is definately euck though Makes me feel tainted. Give me sweet nothings whispered in my ear anyday....whisper anything like this and I'll king-hit you so hard you'll miss the first 4 loads of the day! Future bfs take note! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

First off: Skypeg1- I fit into one of those desriptions (NO I'M NOT GAY; I just poached a jump-pilot's girl for a night....and didn't invite him to join us) and I'm quite able to defend myself. SOCHILL OUT!!!! As for you Alienangel: It apparent to all that you are sexually frustrated....after reading your "poetry", no wonder. I don't dig big wheels. Big tyres are like oily guys with fluffy dice who drive flashy cars to make up for their lack of penile size. I'd rather see how a guy drove his car, as that takes skill. And if you're thinking fro one moment of putting me down as some ugly tramp/dyke/whuffo, save your fingers for the loo, there're enough people on this site who'll testify I'm none of the above. Y'anyways, its a free country, suit yourself. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

My dad has 14000, mum had 450 before she stopped (tennis injury stopped her the first time, turf laying [long story] the second time) I've got 275, one brother has 193 jumps, the other has done a head down tandem over Taupo New Zealand, and my grandmother hhas done at least 3. She was one of the forst tandem students in Australia! Not a bad record, eh?

Ummm Aussie skydivers are notorious for doing some pretty stupid things and we literally solved the question of whether drunk skydivers are worse than bored skydivers.... Y'anyways, my 2 favourites of our antics are: 1) firing up the Bell jetranger and jumping from it 50 ft into a dam of unknown depth and content, oh we soon found out it had VERY VERY big bad-tempered eels in it! We still occasionally use the dam for inescapable pond swoops ( versus say, the pond specifically built to give us outs...) For those who've been to Sydney skydivers, I'm referring to the first dam you see when you come in the gate...yeah that smelly dirty brown murky thing.... 2) Rigging a person into a go-cart with his rig on on a 40-50 knot day. Hospital visit for "billy".....priceless....absolutely priceless. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Patience is a virtue boys.....you know, good things come to them that waits...and don't whings about it incessantly!... Hmmm know which of these posts was written by a woman? That said, bring on the boobies! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I have nothing but respect for the Nordies, and a total lack of it for dumb profiteering cows like the aforementioned. BASE jumping is virtually illegal here and I agree with the reasoning behind it, but not the means by which they try to alay their concerns. A mate died in Norway 3 years back and they searched for his body for 7 days. In the end his body was brought down by a climber, months later. My tutor told me the first 2 years of BASE jumping were about surviving, the statistics backed him up. If you're going to BASE jump, you must be prepared to deal with the consequences, and likewise your family should be prepared to del with whatever the consequences of your actions may be. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Joe honey, I was joking about girls not being able to trust you (with a camera) near them, not about you being a smooth talker! You just keep sweet talking in those PM's honey..... xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

By that reckoning, my 4way team'll take out the nats this year! Schweeet! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Hmmm crocodile tail tastes like soft chicken......hmmmmm....yum Kangaroo tastes more like Veal than chicken (I don't like Veal) but its kinda rubbery..... xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."
