  1. Agreed. How many can we send to your house? The only medicinal supplies I have access to is weed, kava, alcohol and some guns if you need need something to ease the suffering.
  2. If you are correct that the numbers of ICU beds in America is sufficient, what then is your plan for distributing the sick to available beds in each state? All I'm saying is that at this point, given the numbers, it doesn't look like most of those beds will even need to be used for those serious covid infections. But ya, a plan should be in place just in case.

Ya, "seem" to say. Guess it depends on which experts you want to listen to. The huge economic impact is already there. They have no business being here right now. It can wait till we have a better handle on things. Then more reason to keep them out in the first place if they're not going to listen to the advice of medical experts.
  4. Unless of course in three weeks hospital ICUs are starting to become overwhelmed with sick people who need respirators to keep them breathing in hopes of recovery. The whole idea at this point is to slow the rate of infection so that it does not hit all at once. Right, I heard something about how the U.S has only something like 100,000 ICU beds. Edit: But given the numbers worldwide, so far that seems sufficient.
  5. As always, that'll depend on their ratings and what people want to hear.
  6. Again, no he didn't. "Despite creating some confusion with his remarks, Trump did not call the coronavirus itself a hoax." https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-coronavirus-rally-remark/ And today he's calling it a National Emergency. Christ, what a tool. Back in January, from NPR: "Trump Declares Coronavirus A Public Health Emergency And Restricts Travel From China" https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/01/31/801686524/trump-declares-coronavirus-a-public-health-emergency-and-restricts-travel-from-c

. . .and we've been regretting it ever since. But seriously, would it have hurt to wait until 4/13/1977?

It may not affect the rate of infection much, but it could still translate to a significant number of people being unnecessarily infected by people that have no business being here right now. But we're responsible at the port of entry. And again, we have a limited amount of airports with medical facilities performing the screenings. Why should we overload the process with people that don't need to be here right now, and then have to treat them if they show symptoms? And again, they'll have to be quarantined regardless - so you're gonna spend your family vacation stuck in some hotel for 2 weeks, or travel 5000 miles just to Skype into your business meeting from wherever you're quarantined? Just wait until we get a handle on things. Why is that so hard to understand? Why are you people so desperate to start shit over this?
  9. Ya, I was just thinking that the day is still early. BTW, thanks for that link from the other thread.
  10. I think it was a little more than a couple months but in that area. However, trying to use police state tactics to control it. That is not going to fly here. I know it's too soon to draw conclusions, but this is interesting: https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/en
  11. I'm thinking things will start getting back to normal after the numbers peak and start to flatten out. In China that was about a couple months, right?

Self quarantine doesn't put strain on the health system. It merely means you separate yourself from everybody else. i.e. lock yourself into your own home. You're not following the conversation. We're talking about foreign nationals - not citizens, and permanent residents.
  17. Who gives a shit. I grew up in the inner city surrounded by blacks that beat the shit out of me, robbed me and shot at me, but that doesn't give me the right to stereotype, become a racist bigot and whinge about it all fucking day on the internet. Fuckin' grow up and get over it.

What about all those permanent residents They're exempt as well, along with their spouses, parents and siblings. Two weeks quarantine for travelers is peanuts compared to entire cities, entire countries, schools closing, factories closing. MLB, NBA just suspended their entire seasons. Thats how long this mess is going to drag on. If not longer. Ok, so why put unnecessary strain on the system and exacerbate an already precarious situation by adding people to the screening process that don't need to be here? And then if they do show symptoms, we'll have to treat them. And again, why would they even want to come here just to be quarantined for 2 weeks anyway?

    covid-19

Yes. all travelers regardless of origin self quarantine for 14 days. Ok so then why would it make any sense to come here at this point? Cheap airfare to offset the cost of 2 weeks at Holiday Innsane?

Then it seems appropriate to limit travel to reduce the number of infected people from slipping through the cracks and infecting others. Citizens will be directed to a limited amount of airports in the U.S with medical facilities. Those showing symptoms will receive medical attention while others are required to be quarantined for 14 days. What would be the point of foreign nationals traveling here just to be screened and then quarantined for 2 weeks anyway?

But not for US citizens. Because coronavirus won't get passed on by citizens, apparently. Sigh. He clearly said that they'll have to be appropriately screened. "There will be exemptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings" You people are impossible.
