would something with a chincup work for you ?
-
information is useless without the details. I have three sets of gear here that match the description perfectly - "Wings parachute equipment"
-
I am just guessing here, but the OP probably means a honeycomb weave fabric reserve, rather than reserve made from ZP. so essentially whatever Aerdyne will come up with in 0-3CFM, like F111-X :)

Anyone have details on this emergency bailout video?
likestojump replied to ryoder's topic in The Bonfire
Where do you jump? Aside from the Cessna's (and I think you mean 182/206), almost every jump pilot I've flown with hasn't worn a rig. I have NEVER seen a Skyvan/Caravan/TwOtter/CASA/PAC pilot wear a rig. Not to say that it doesn't happen, but I am guessing it's a lot less common to have one, rather than not. -
I like all three that you listed. why did decide against Wings/Javelin/Icon/VooDoo/Talon/Reflex etc ?
-
what poster above me said. consider this being pointed in the right direction :) : http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/page.cgi?g=Containers%2Findex.html;d=1

My primary rig has an AAD, but I don't get the shakes when I jump other rigs that don't have one :)

Anyone know if this can be used as reserve
likestojump replied to chrishansen's topic in Gear and Rigging
nope. only illegal if it's "available for emergency" -

Yes, tandem PG jumps have been done many times both with and w/o the WS. -
and I have empirical evidence that certain containers hold their value a lot better than others. I don't want to suck anything, including the joy out of everything. And I enjoy my life plenty, thank you !

Excuse me if I still stick to my opinion. I think that a new jumper will do better buying a used popular brand container rather than a new Racer or a Dolphin. You can write another page of how Racer is a popular container, but if you go around the DZs of the world you will be quite surprised to find that it's just not true.

Questions about buying a certain type of rig
likestojump replied to littledanny50's topic in Gear and Rigging
I've got a J1 with a Raven I in it. It's not even difficult to pack. I've always wondered why it fits so well, its not supposed to! what's the DOM on your Raven1 ? Dacron or Microlines ? -
Questions about buying a certain type of rig
likestojump replied to littledanny50's topic in Gear and Rigging
Whle the Javelin J1 is able to handle a used 170 canopy, the problem is that at your exit weight (170) and experience (low), the 150 reserve is also a piss poor choice for you. And a J1 will not handle a reserve larger than a Tempo 150/PDR143 :( -
That's funny. I too have been in biz for many years. Lifetime of mailorder to be exact. And I have sent thousands of packages with UPS/FedEx/USPS. And quite a few with DHL. And the company that fucked up the most... wait for it wait for it Was the one which handled the most packages. In other words the years when I ran with a UPS account, UPS fucked up considerably more than FedEx. But in the last few years that I have favored my FedEx account FedEx made more mistakes. Just to put in some quantitative data (I know, solid, reliable info is very bad on these forums, sorry) - I shipped anywhere from 1000 to 10,000 packages per year. Yet again it seems that people love to judge a book by it's cover by either formulating an opinion based on a one-off experience or experience with a single employee of the company.

Haha. I gave up on battling the cats in the carrier years ago. When we take one of our cats to the vet, I have my wife hold her in her lap, and I drive. Seems to work well.
-
Quite a bold statement to make. Please state your experience with UPS and with it's competitors (That would be FedEx and former DHL/Airborne and possibly the US Postal Service).
-
I was thinking more along the lines of cert # and seal being stamped - but the sig still being handwritten.
-
it's legal. And it does wonders to prevent pencil packing.

I put one jump one a demo 150 (1.35WL) a few days ago. opened well. flew well. packed very easy hard front riser pressure. I would recommend the canopy for anyone who wants a no problem wing. I have always been a fan of getting very new jumpers on Silhouettes (another PD hybrid), so the Pulse is a no brainer. John Leblanc as well as other PD reps mentioned that Pulse performs best when loaded lighter.

BAD SELLER FROM ITALY - Ferdinando Villano, Be CAREFUL !!!
likestojump replied to Paraman's topic in Gear and Rigging
ripstop is exactly what it is - RIP STOP. When cutting it, it cuts the same. Look at how the fibers were pulled between the hole and the warning label. as well as at the fuzz around the hole - this was either done with a butter knife and some force, or was snagged/punched. -
does it just look that way, or is your chest strap sitting a bit too low ? Seems like the yoke is positioned too high, and perhaps laterals are too short. The MLW looks fine. - just another person on the internet :(

I use Pete Swan in Lodi for all Cobalt work, as well as PISA work. So far I am quite happy

BAD SELLER FROM ITALY - Ferdinando Villano, Be CAREFUL !!!
likestojump replied to Paraman's topic in Gear and Rigging
huh ???????????????????????? care to PM me the details ? I am still waiting to hear from you from weeks ago. As far as I know I have not gotten any details on the gear you offered me for sale. Regardless of anything, I made no commitments to you, nor have you made any commitments to me, so I see no reason for you to slam me in a public forum. I can go on and slam every person who has ever inquired about gear I have had for sale, but that would be quite a large list. -
BAD SELLER FROM ITALY - Ferdinando Villano, Be CAREFUL !!!
likestojump replied to Paraman's topic in Gear and Rigging
except for the part when the sellers need some public spankings. In the last two weeks I have had two deals go from sour to the point of having to file a police report, and I at times felt that the people involved should have their names out in the public forum. But I was able to seek recourse, as both them and I are in the US. In this case there are two guys one in Russia and other in Italy - I doubt much recourse can be had. Just wait till you get screwed by someone who you cannot use the US legal system to pursue, I bet you will be asking for help and will be quite offended hearing the same old "harden the fuck up, cupcake" song.
