a simple solution is to send the seller a PM :)

New gear, did I make a good choice? (your opinion)
likestojump replied to quadrevium's topic in Gear and Rigging
it's very nice gear Eddy. You will be happy with how it works, and with its resale value. however I bet you got a Smart 190, as they don't make a 189, unless you are really, really special :) -
I (we) have done numerous bandit jumps, with NOTAM (and some without:). We called the cops in the city we were landing in, and gave them a heads up. No issues. last year we landed on a golf course (off season), and a sheriff pulled in as our chase vehicle was driving us out. He said someone called in a report of a glider going down. We explained the situation, he wished us luck, and that was it. so cops are no problem, unless you are blatantly breaking the law and/or are acting like a dumbass.

$5 says he will talk his way out of it by showing them his expired FAI license.

Altimaster III Galaxy with glow in the dark face. http://www.dropzone.com/gear/Detailed/289.html It small enough to wear on your hand (not wrist), but large enough to see. It has a metal body, which is very sturdy. The lens is user replaceable. And the glow in the dark face is quite useful for sunset loads, especially if take off a bit late :) Oh, and it also has an excellent resale value.

in about 1999 I saw a really nice Mercedes coupe with Saudi Arabian plates. The guy driving it said he was allowed to do so, and he was touring US for next 3 months. a short Google search came up with this : http://www.foreignborn.com/visas_imm/entering_us/7importingyourcar.htm this part seems pertinent : MOTORISTS VISITING THE UNITED STATES as tourists from countries that have ratified the Convention on International Road Traffic of 1949 may drive in the U.S. for one year with their own national Iicense plates (registration tags) on their cars and with their own personal driver's licenses.

with your insistent trolling of basejumper.com you should realize that there's a large amount of people going to the Heliboogie in Norway in a few weeks. Perhaps you can arrange something with someone there...

If I was to start over again, I wouldn't care as much about the chest articulation rings and the presence of RSL. I would definitely pay more attention to the choice of Reserve canopy.

Dirty Laundry aired in z-hills

Let's not confuse experience with credentials. He may have had all the requirements, and hundreds of hours, but no check ride. Or not.. Having never met/talked with TK this is as objective as my opinion gets. Illegal ? Sure Unsafe ? not enough information to know. -
haha. my best tip is to get trained by someone who is good. Nothing beats the good old hands-on training. Manuals are good to read, but seeing it first hand is much more helpful.

you know what I find hilarious ? All new jumper threads that get the same 3-4 people one-lining "go with a Racer" or "www.jumpshack.com for all your needs". And now, those very helpful posters cannot even give some tips how to pack the very rigs they so strongly recommend to others.

here are some of the sharper looking Wings that I had. (my OPINION)

DropZone.com sucking up all my cpu cycles
likestojump replied to JohnRich's topic in Error and Bug Reports
if you really have 128MB of memory, that can be a problem in itself. It's simply not enough in today's resource intensive environment. -
Watch out Skydiving Community...
likestojump replied to Jumpdude's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I partially agree. Court cases take a long time, can be appealed, taken to the higher court, etc, drawn out, results are very long term and there are substantial sunk costs. Out-advertising brings near immediate results both to the DZs bottom line and to put a dent in Skyrides biz model. Hitler - I have no clue how you can draw a parallel. Skyride are just great marketing w/o any conscience. An snake oil salesperson who moves from town to town until he gets caught and gets an asswhoopping. -
Lifetime cost of CYPRES - Was:Double Vigil 2 Fire
likestojump replied to PhreeZone's topic in Gear and Rigging
aside from the fact that you are talking about Cypres1, the Cypres1 batteries are $85USD from SSK directly to an end user, and are even cheaper to the dealer/rigger. -
it's a spring inside the friction adapter, so there's friction, even without tension.

if you have been fed nothing but excuses, it's time to publicly shame the seller.

His first name is misspelled throughout the website as well as in the domain name.

I packed a couple of PDR126 into an MT pack tray, with and without and AAD. Fits fine, but it's not as dry here as it is in SoCal. I am certain it will work, but will be fairly tight. An OP126 will be a great fit.

really ? And I was under impression that flat pieces have a larger surface area to distribute the pressure of pulling and are thus more comfortable for your hands. silly me.

Answer these questions, and you may get a reasonable answer. Provide little info, and you will be lucky to get one easy payment of $200 :( Container : DOM container size harness size total # of jumps Main : model and size # of jumps onthe canopy # of jumps on the lines DOM ? any damage ? Reserve : model and size # of repacks # of rides ? DOM ?

IT WILL NOT WORK. Unless you like having a Franken-rig with canopy sticking out everywhere, seem threads ready to burst and a big hump on the bottom. I2 is made for a 111 ZP canopy.
