As per my last conversation with the manufacturer the 20 year life is absolute, and there are no re-certs available.

Tax and Damage on my new rig : (

I'll take your (pulled out of your ass) probably, and raise you some FACTS : EMS Mail is the best/cheapest way to ship packages across the world (USPS Offers it under the name EMS EXPRESS MAIL). The level of service is on par with FedEx/UPS Air, yet noticeably cheaper. The customs clearance is significantly cheaper and faster as well. The EMS service has cross cross-country agreements within 154 countries This is by far the best bang for the buck for your average international medium to large package shipping. more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Express_mail -
Tax and Damage on my new rig : (
likestojump replied to aeroflyer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Agreed, UPS and Fedex charge outrageous fees just for passing through customs. The USPS brokerage fee is $8. It is getting ridiculous though... so many fees and taxes.. about $600 in shipping, taxes, and fees on top of a container and reserve. In the future I would tell everyone to buy everything used and buy locally. I do maybe 100 packages to Canada a year. If any of my customers were ever to pay even close to $600 in postage/taxes on a package, I think I would be getting some seriously nasty phone calls. Perhaps I should revamp my biz model to get more revenue... -
If you are referring to the muscles in your lower back, than your best solution is stretching well before a day of jumping. Or just make it a habit of stretching every day, it's good for you !

Samurai for a 100 jump person

I suggest you edit your post as to not fuck up searches. Sillhouette as IS A GREAT canopy VERY SUITABLE for low time jumpers. It was the Stiletto that is being debated as being a piss poor choice. -
The Lotus is no longer available... Unless you must have a new one, there still are plenty Lotus canopies on the used gear market.

I apologize for not being able to make a helpful post :( It's just amazing how similar these sound http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3718663, though I am sure they are not the same person. I think those two would make a great CRW team.

Go to a local SCUBA shop. Ask for food grade silicone. It's used to put on drysuits.

DropZone.com sucking up all my cpu cycles

Had the same thing happen to me (3Ghz Quad core, 4Gb RAM), so I don't think that's the problem. The fact that it was something that came and went in just a couple of days indicates it's not a problem inherent in the architecture - because that would make it a full-time problem. The transient nature seems to indicate that there is some outside influence at play. Roger that. I am using a Win7 with 4GB ram and 2.4GHz CPU, no problems. I am also using Firefox with Adblocker - are both of you guys ? If not, it could be the ads sucking up the CPU cycles. -
This comes up every once in a while. EVERY COMPANY IS BOUND TO SOMETIMES MAKE MISTAKES. As far as the shipping beefs, we already had a thread, and I will just repeat what I said there original thread : http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3823782

how many transactions like that have you had with Mirage ? how many containers have you bought from other manufacturers ?

While this rig wasn't made for ME, it fits me very comfortably. This is pic under canopy

by the same logic it should be illegal to own guns if you are not a LEO, don't compete and live in a nice neighborhood, as that eliminates the need to defend oneself. Seriously, as silly as some hobbies are, people are allowed to own things that can be used for criminal acts - that does not make those people criminals. For the record I own a couple of sets of lockpicks, bumpkeys, and various other tools that any BASE jumper should be proficient with. Just buy them online, and no one will ask you silly questions.
-
huh ? Wingloading is your weight divided by the canopy size. It has nothing to do with the type of canopy. Are you asking if you should load hybrid wings different from ZP ? If so, in my opinion, it should not make a difference, especially with the canopies you listed (Silhouette and Pulse). But I am not your instructor.

pics of the slocks on a 2005 Infinity container. A pretty easy jobbie for a competent and properly rated rigger. some people bastardize and ghetto rig pieces of dacron line to the riser, but a tape with a stiffener is much cleaner.
-
hey, must be a really nice looking Infinity :) a few solutions : easy/safe : slocks (slider locks). pieces of webbing on the botton of the front risers that will keep the slider at the bottom of the & riser junction easy, a bit unsafe : a velcro slider keeper. Either install one on your jumpsuit, or have a rigger install it at the yoke of your container. JohnRich solution : slider bumpers at the top of the risers. This has worked for people for decades, no reason to change what was never broken. (alternative to that would be a split slider :)

So if I'm to lower my standards........(skinny girl who isn't bat shit crazy).....when will you ladies lower your standards and go for pudgy guys with poor hygiene? After all it's an equal opportunity world here. edit, Speaking to a friend who is a Chem E regarding body type and location of birth and she really had some interesting thoughts as to the type of food we eat here in the states as kids and how they alter how our bodies develope. Where by in the EU the food is resher and lower in artifical colors and every one walks or bikes to and from work and school while we in the US eat way too much processed food and drive to and from every location. You don't have to lower your standard. Just lower your expectations :)

Basically you just told him that he should try men. I agree.

Riser flaps opening in free fall...
likestojump replied to DebaucheroRdrgz's topic in Gear and Rigging
it should be a fairly inexpensive repair to replace the stiffener inside the cover. However if the problem is with the the pocket/cover not being long/deep enough, then a more in-depth solution can be needed. -

I think you have just identified your problem. Trying to use website(s) built to the 2010-ish technology while replying on something that was mediocre at best in 2002 :) time to upgrade.
