Ok, so I am trying to put together my first rig... First off my specs: I am 5' 10", somewhere around 195ish (but on the way back down to my normal 180, you know losing my winter coat or should i say "beer storage") This rig will be my first for when I get off student status... Anyway, I already have my main. I got a used Triathlon 190 with about 80ish jumps on it. As for a container, I obtained a 50% off certificate for a new Wings, so that will be ordered by this time next week... I hope... I am trying to locate a used Cypres at a decent price as well. Now for my question. I am trying to decide which reserve to order. I have seen several of the gear companies offering deals on both the Super Raven and Tempo reserves. Both of which are right around $ 750.00. I am trying to decide between the Super Raven 181 or 218 and the Tempo 210. Can any of you help with this decision? Is either canopy supereior in any way? I have heard good and bad about everything on the market, but I will still like to see what some of you have to say. Are the manufacture listed pack volumes accurate? My main says it packs at 396 cu.in. and both the Tempo 210 and Raven 218 say they pack at about 366. Would this make for a good combination? One last question. ( I don't want to post whore my own post, so I am trying to ask all my questions in this post! ) I am trying to decide on how to size my container. I am told that I could get it sized for a 170 and still get my Tri 190 in to the bag. That way I could have a greater flexibility in downsizing about 500 jumps down the road. I would really like to not have to buy a new container for several years. So is getting it sized for 170 a good idea? yeah i am moving to Chicago on july 30th... i don't start work until Aug 13, i probably won't have 50 jumps by then, but i guess i could still bring my tent, and hang out for the week, since i won't have to worry with work sounds like a good way to meet all the new people i will be around in chicago as well count me in... oh, andy, if i have extra cash after the move, I may be intrested in chipping in on a rv, sure would beat the heck out of my litlle 3 man dome tent hisgoofyness "My altimeter reads zero... i for one am verry sorry to see layne go... i am much more of a fan of classic rock (pink floyd, led zepplin, hendrix, grand funk, etc.) but his music has inspired me very much through the last decade, he always used lyrics that really hit home i too attempt to play a little guitar, i could only dream of recreating feelings through sound and lyrics like he did layne you will be missed hisgoofyness "My altimeter reads zero... actually this is something that is out now... i believe it is a unit made by phillips, but anyway you can run rca's from your camcorder or vcr in to the unit and burn dvd's i am sure the unit is very expensive, so the fact that they are starting to advertise could help out initially to peak buyer's intrest, but you know as time goes on the technology will get cheaper and cheaper until everyone has one i still remember when i went through my audio progression from vinyl, to 8 track, to cassette, to cd; but i still love the sound and warmth of that old vinyl hisgoofyness "My altimeter reads zero...
