  1. Once again, YOU were the one who used the term pejoratively, when you took umbrage that mere "plebs" would presume to put a number after their name. Clearly, you intended to convey that doing so was supposed to be the purview of the UPPER ("non-pleb" or "patrician") classes. I really don't know who you think you are fooling. 2. You don't come 'round these parts often, do you? Having said that, an execution is premeditated, and should be compared to other premeditated killings if you are going to make comparisons. Fine, let's. Two sides are engaged in a war that side A started with an unprovoked attack (so side B is held harmless for starting the war). A platoon of soldiers from side B is on patrol and discovers a platoon of side A soldiers encamped in the woods. They are not detected by side B and could confidently pass on by back to their base. But they are also under orders to take out any side A'ers they feel they can, if encountered. They PREMEDITATE a plan to wait until nightfall, and then descend upon and slaughter the side A'ers. They do so. They return and are recommended for medals. Premeditated killing. Equivalent to murder? Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

  5. This is one of the things that I think makes the Democrats seem like such a sad, sad farce: all of their talk about what makes them better than the Republicans, and they can't even get along with each other! They are like a bunch of squabbling children. They disgrace and embarrass themselves at every turn. It's completely comedic; but robs me of any confidence in their supposed ability to lead the country. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

  11. I've never eaten gator, even though it's around at a fair number of restaurants nearby. I think I always had a compunction about eating what I consider to be a magnificent creature. Anyway, what's it like? Can you describe the consistency? I always imagined it to be like a cross between chicken and conch or something. And I can't begin to imagine the flavor. How is it cooked? A filet on a bun? Made into chunks and battered like sweet and sour pork? Cut as a steak and grilled? And does it feel weird to be eating flesh of a reptile? 12. They're putting their shallowness and pettiness on display, though, are they not? Seriously, what does it say to the American public (or the world) that the Democrats said and said and said and said and said and said, "Those states have lost their delegates because they did not adhere to the party's primary rules"? And then, after months and months of that: "Ah, we didn't mean that. Changed our minds about the very thing we were adamant about for so long." Incredible. As long as the sheep who voted in the primaries get to feel, "Oooh, my vote counted! (yeah, right) they will look the other way when their own party does something very unbecoming. You know, I asked the poll in a non-leading, non-pushing, straightforward way; it didn't "make sissies out of people for holding an opinion". I get no credit for that, though, huh? It was an honest poll about a nationwide subject of discussion in current events. Still, people want to chastise me on it. Pettiness. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire
  13. You are scared shitless that Obama might win so you are throwing as much crap at them as you can with little or no regard for the truth, this post is just another example. Boring is what I think of your post, you are like a broken record. Once again, you fail to say anything about what you believe, but you impute all kinds of beliefs (or fears) to others. All you know how to do is point fingers, it's clear. You never come into a thread and state your position. All you do is take cheap pussy potshots at the positions of others. If I'm like a broken record, tell me where the abundance of posts I've made about Obama are located. I mostly stick to guns, and everyone knows that. And where in my post am I "throwing crap" at Democrats? I made a reasoned assertion that they are not playing by their own rules and therefore deserve to lose credibility. There are folks here already avowing their agreement with me on that. How is pointing out a political party's hypocrisy "throwing crap"? Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire
  14. Is it better to live in a country with overt recognition of who is a "pleb" and who is a "patrician"? Maybe you'd prefer to replace the "land of opportunity" with "stay in your fuckin' CASTE!" as the motto of the U.S.? The fact that you condescend to people as though you have the standing to call them "pleb" says a lot about you. Firstly, my comment has nothing to do with the Caste system but if you wish to stop Hindu liberals reforming their religion in the USA then thats up to you. Secondly the distinction was between Royalty and the middle and working class with no reference to where I do or don't stand anywhere in the text either directly or indirectly. As for Plebs I refer you to the account below (taken from Wikipedia as I don't want to invest any more time than I have to in your education.) So you see the distinction is between the ruling class (eg: Royalty) and the citizens, who could be wealthy and influential people. The fact that you look down your nose at plebs therefore says allot more about your feelings of class inferiority than it does anything about me in anyway shape or form dear boy. Now you're trying to piss on my leg and convince me it's raining. Look, your distortion and obfuscation are out there for everyone to see. YOU made the comment, with clear implications, about so-called "plebs" having the audacity to put numbers after their names; it was implied by your comment that this was the purview of royalty--of the "social betters" of the plebeians. The general, contemporary use of "pleb" is to denote that a person is an UNDERCLASS person. There is nothing in my post that can be taken to mean that I myself view people in categories of "pleb" and "patrician." You did that. In your post, it was clear that your implication was a disapproval of presumptuousness by "plebs." What'samatter, did you get confused about which text came from whom? 15. First, I met the condition of the bet, without question. Second, if you had intended to pay, why have you come up with excuse after excuse why you won't? Excuses? No. We simply have not been able to come to an agreeable compromise. I offered you several, and you declined them. I simply am not on the hook to dig into my pocket for any more than one U.S. dollar, period. And I did not agree to make a proxy payment to the ACLU prior to the bet going into effect. You can twist this all you want, but it won't change that. It also won't change the fact that you're being ridiculous following me from thread to thread about your petty little disagreement, engaging in the discourteous practice of hijacking the threads for your own petty purpose. Try thinking that there might be more than just you and me in this thread, as well as in others. How many will you pollute with this garbage? Why can't you fucking get it through your head that I AM NOT DONATING MONEY TO THE FUCKING ACLU, OK?! I did not agree to it, so if you claim that I welshed on the bet in that regard, you're full of shit. And I said I was willing to donate the dollar to the USPA. You are standing here in front of fellow skydivers declining that offer, which I think is pretty disgusting. Why you are acting so small and unwilling to greet that compromise half-way I cannot understand. I am already extending to you the courtesy of going beyond what I agreed to in the wager: - whose terms you did not meet to my satisfaction - whose satisfaction we have no agreed-upon judge of outside of ourselves and our failed attempts to agree - in which I agreed to be held liable for ONE DOLLAR, not "one dollar plus delivery fees made payable to PayPal." Time to grow up. If you think this is a legitimate test of "someone's personal credibility," then that's what's sad. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

  18. All the same, I do want people far and wide to be alerted to how they are; and I would like if their support eroded right out from under them when their starry-eyed voters started seeing them for the lying scumbags and hypocrites they truly are. 19. Is it a "smear" to point out Obama's lack of integrity when he swore up and down he was going to use the public campaign finance provision until he came to realize that the money would pour in if he went with private fundraising? He was not as good as his word. It's that simple. There are plenty of political cartoons that took up this particular issue, and they were all right on the money, so to speak. 21. Here are a few http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/ You'll find some way to squirm out of it I'm sure. Why is it that with virtually every post, you Democrat supporters have to end with some snide, sneering jab? It is utterly without class. You couldn't just say, "Here are a few," huh? 22. Thank god. For a long time, I've thought of you as a guy with a good, reasonable head on his shoulders, and if you'd said different, that would have been dashed. Come on, dude, how can you be serious about that? Serving the "small-government" crowd inadvertently by failing to get much if any of his agenda accomplished really can't be considered an "accomplishment." Let's be real, here. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire
  23. Honestly, I'm not all that familiar with the so-called false smears that you're apparently talking about. Snopes has a list. A long list. I think I mentioned that already. Not that I'd expect you bother with facts. How is it that people give you a pass, but think of me as obnoxious? Look at the way you conduct yourself, and the things you say? I wasn't even fuckin' antagonizing you (or anyone) in this thread! Why don't you address what I said in my response, instead of just making implications and casting aspersions? I didn't cite any of the "false smears." Obama's hostility to gun rights is well-documented and irrefutable. His associations with the people I alluded to is likewise irrefutable. It's impossible for me to just accept his bullshit disavowals, especially when the more of his "supporters" who come out of the woodwork, the more machine-gun-like his disavowals seem to have to be. 24. That's cool! I'm confused, though, because I thought a cloud was "water vapor". Or is it considered liquid that's condensed into droplets? I saw three streaks Perseid Meteor Shower a few weeks ago, and the last of them was out over the ocean off the beach, and after it went by, I could see what appeared to be some sort of vapor trail! (not the glowing trail of the meteorite itself, but something left behind afterward) It was pretty cool, too. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire
