  1. From what I understand, if she passes the b-test then yes I do believe so. Muff #5048
  2. My brother dragged me to the DZ. I guess my reason for jumping at first was "Because everyone else is doing it". Well, that and my bro bought my first tandem for me which as we all know is usually enough to get you hooked (kinda like crack). Now Ive pretty much devoted my life/ income to this wonderfull sport we all love so much. Muff #5048
  3. Wow no shit I just saw this one this morning from someone I dont even know. "Hello! I am tired this evening. I am nice girl that would like to chat with you. Email me at Ebba@jolasite.com only, because I am using my friend's email to write this. Hope you like my pictures." Muff #5048
  4. I live literally 15 minutes from the DZ (if you do the speed limit), but I can say I feel your pain. My brother and I went to z-hills from GA a while ago. Muff #5048
  5. I think the bigger question is why dont we use metric in everything else like the rest of the world? Its damn aggrivating when I'm working on something and I need both metric and standard tools to complete the job. Muff #5048
  6. You know what I dont understand is why, when I took my rig through security, did the 30is y/o tsa fuckhead have to call 5 different people over to look at it then ask me 7 or 8 different times what it was? You should have seen the look I got when I told them "whatever you do dont pull the silver handle". I guess that activates the toothpaste detonator which in turn sets off the main remote bottle of shampoo. Muff #5048
  7. WOW!!! thats a pretty awsome looking rig!!
  8. Alright I see what you guys are getting at. I guess as an AFFI you have to teach the pull and kick method and intruducing another way could confuse the hell out of some people. Is there like a FJC curriculum when it comes to the teaching? Muff #5048
  9. I fail to see how neglecting altitude will get you out of line twist. Unless, of course, your talking about neglecting altitude to the point of not pulling in which case I guess that means you wouldnt have line twist. I'm not talking about a STUDENT deviating from the plan, but rather an instructor teaching FJC a little differently then what the holy SIM bible tells us. Thats all. Muff #5048
  10. Possible unstowing a toggle while twisting. Is there any documented evidence of this ever happening? Muff #5048
  11. Ill bet thats because the twisting the risers hasn't been used thousands of times. Also, what could go wrong with this method? Muff #5048
  12. So I was jumping this past weekend and wouldnt you know it on the very first jump of the weekend I got me some line twist. They were actually quite bad (well at least as bad as Ive ever had them). I tried doing the whole pull the risers apart and kick out thing but that would have taken forever and I would have landed way off. I remembered seeing a video where a guy has line twist and just twist his risers the other direction and BOOM problem solved. Well I chose to use this method and wouldnt you know it it works. Not only does it work, but it works exceedingly well and pretty quickly. So my question is why are we being taught to still pull and kick when there is quite obviously a far better method to dealing with this problem? I mean seriously this is too much like common sense. 13. About 15 min. Its so good to live close to a DZ!!!!! Muff #5048
  14. Quite possibly the best beer to drink and not give you a "fuck me in the ass" hangover!!! So whats everyone else drinking tonight? Muff #5048
  15. I couldnt say about a new box, but I can tell you that Ive made a box for my cam helmet out of fiberglass and sheet metal. It isnt very hard and you can make the box to fit whatever you'd like. Just a thought. Muff #5048
  16. Unfortunately I have absolutely no reccolection of where I saw this done at. It was on tv perhaps... Muff #5048
  17. Not true of all dz's. Ive seen people jumps base rigs on H&P's before. Muff #5048
  18. My brother has a Freak N' Suit (free fly) that he got brand new for $190. As for mains, buy used check out the classifieds here as well as what people are selling at your dz. I wont get into sizes very much as im not an instructor/ seen you land/ know what you weigh etc..., but if you enjoyed a 220 you might like a spectre210/190 or similar. Again I really couldnt tell you on size, but of the canopies Ive jumped I enjoy the spectre probably the most right now. Good luck with your hunt. -Mike Muff #5048
  19. Its not wrong to feel that way. Different people deal with death differently. As far as a stand down goes you have to look at it from the perspective of the DZO. Its HIS buisness that he uses to make money. If he so chooses to shut down or stay open thats totally up to him. Now does that mean you have to stay there and jump hours/minutes after the incedent? Hell no if you find it more respectfull to go home/pray/whatever. Everyone will deal with death in their own way, and even the people who come off as assholes are likely just trying to repress the way they feel by looking like the guy who doesnt care. Thats the way I see it anyway. Sorry to hear about your friend. -Mike Muff #5048
  20. Personal experience as Ive seen it happen to others. Myself, I gernerally dont drink to get much more than the 2-3 level. When I was in AK though thats all some people would do. Drink and fuck all the time. Muff #5048
  21. You forgot the 6th level. Six Star Hangover (******) Your laying in a hospital bed. You realize that theres a tube that has been placed through your nose all the way down to your stomache. There's also a needle in your arm with a hose connected to it slowly putting a yellowish fluid into your body. Your First Seargent is standing there telling you that you and he will be having a "disscussion" in his office on Monday about the copious amounts of adult beverages you chose to consume and why you decided (unknowingly) to yell and bitch at the doctor untill you passed out. Later that day you become sick. Later that night you get sick. The next morning you are sick. Muff #5048
  22. Well I'll probably be having steak tonight. I dont think I'm gonna get that other thing yall keep talking about though. Muff #5048
  23. If you really want a challenge go to Carls Jr. and get the double six dollar burger meal large with 3 things of fry sauce. That should increase your wing loading a little. Muff #5048
  24. That makes more sense than anything else I've heard all week. Its genious. Muff #5048
