  1. Yeah. Dont waste your time. It comes off as rather preachy. Muff #5048
  2. Thats pretty good, but I can beat it. Got popped doing 80.5Kmh in a 50kmh zone. I know its not exactly 60kmh over the limit like the lambo, but to be fair I HAVE had the vehicle I got the ticket in up to 160kmh before (just never been caught doing it). Also who else can say they got a speeding ticket in Baghdad?!? Muff #5048
  3. $385 on Amazon. Thats where I'm getting mine. Free shipping too.
  4. I already have the goldmember. Is there any way to get the play/slop out of it? Or should I just return it to PG and put the $$ on a flatlock? Muff #5048
  5. His "EXPERT" handler sure seems to think so. Mind you this dog undergoes a FAR more 'intense' training plan than your everyday house pet will ever know. Muff #5048
  6. Yeah I forgot what breed the handler said he was, but he's definately in the fucking people up buisness. Its almost comical to watch the handler as the do is going ape on that sleeve. He'll just stand there petting him saying "good boy! good boy!" while the dog is working you over. Muff #5048
  7. A PUPPY!!!!! But seriously, this dog WILL fuck you up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQq4JEvKfBc Muff #5048
  8. Ah the good ol' t-walls in 0894. When I found out that the 77 Company charges $2000 per t-wall I really was wishing I was the guy that came up with the design. Muff #5048
  9. Because they get pissed if I look at boobs on a govt computer. Ill do it once my relief gets here and I get back to my personal pc. There is irony in stating that...here....on DZ.com....... Not really. This website is sited as a source on my hazzard duty worksheet so I can visit it as much as I like. It's helping me be a better/safer skydiver thus a safer individual in the eyes of the DOD. Muff #5048

  11. Ill bet. On a completely different note, have you ever had the opportunity to watch a C-RAM test at night? THAT shit is pretty fun to watch. Muff #5048
  12. What's this "480 plus"...sh*t... I was carrying nearly 2100 rounds of 5.56 for my SAW...and about 1000 for my M4 when I was carrying one...still not as bad as my poor brothers with the M240 and all that 7.62 though... Thats no bullshit either. Ive seen the guys that carry the SAW's and they are strong as fuck. Never seen anyone actually carry a M240 as a primary weapon. Only saw those mounted at ECP "kill zone" towers and on hummers like the one in the pic. Muff #5048
  13. No. I think the sights are made out of steel. Not iron. Muff #5048
  14. The A2 is all we get (well some get m-9's if you know the right people). I, for one, wish we were issued the m-4 with half the ammo load we carry now. There is absolutely NO reason, doing my job, that I would EVER need the 120 rounds we are made to carry. However, the cops get it a bit worse than us loading up with a min of 300 rounds PER WEAPON THEY CARRY (usually 2 sometimes 3. and the guy who carries the SAW carries far more than that). Muff #5048
  15. I havent worn "BC" glasses since basic, but they do give you 2 new pair when you get sent over. I just never wear them. Well at least keep a spare on you for when you fuck up your good ones at the most inopportune time. Funny you should bring that up. I was working airfield the other night when the damn screw came out of my good glasses. Luckily I had my ballistic eye protection with inserts so I could see. I ended up fixing my good pair while on the airfield using my KA-BAR as a screwdriver. Muff #5048
  16. Everyone gets laid in those specs. When I get back to my room Ill post pics of me wearing them and you will agree that NOONE gets laid wearng those things. Muff #5048

  18. Yeah. They aren't very fast though. Damn doors alone weigh in at 400lbs each. Muff #5048
  19. I know they're kind of fuzzy but they were shot at night with a cheap camera. Enjoy. Muff #5048
  20. Damn you guys are smart. I never would have thought to add any external protection at all. Looks like you guys may have saved me some headache down the road. bwilling, Does the CX-100 already have a pin alignment hole in it? As far as weight I'm not too concerned. I likely wont be putting my DSLR on my head for 1 maybe even 2 more seasons. I'm really just looking for something that centeres the weight in line with the spine. Another question is, mounting a camera on top like this, how close does the slider end up getting to it? I was thinking that MAY be an issue when first priority is checking for traffic and the cam snaggs on it. Muff #5048
  21. Hello all. So on my deployment in the sandbox I got some new goodies for my skydiving life. One of the things I got was a goldmember camera mount for my hawkeye cam helmet. I'm also going to get a Sony CX-100 when I get back to the states. My question is, can you use the goldmember plate to mount the camera on top of the helmet vs. the side? Do you need any extra straps to keep the camera secure? I can keep using the side mount if a top mount isnt a good idea and just save the other mounting bracket for when I'm ready to start doing stills, but I would really like to have the vid on top vs. the side due to weight distribution and less snagg areas. Thoughts? Muff #5048
  22. How does not wanting to jump without an AAD make it the wrong sport for someone? Thats ridiculous. Im sure in all your infinite wisdom you are able to see the future and know on precisely what jump you will be incapacitated. I think the line of logic here is that if someone REFUSES to jump without one then they are TOO reliant on technology and not good EP skill sets. Personally I would LIKE to have an AAD, but until the cost comes down it wont happen unless someone gives me a flat out deal on one. I, personally can not justify spending that much money on something I may or may not need. Also, I think that like any other safety contraption once people get this they tend to be a bit more reckless than they normally would. Why? Because in the minds of some (mine included for some other things) they think IF something happenes then they will still be ok. I'm particullarly bad for this with sandrails that have 5-point safety restraints. This is only my theory though. Muff #5048
  23. I downloaded a logbook app that is quite impressive. You can enter all the info from the skydive just like a paper logbook and it tallies up your total ff time # jumps etc... What would be really cool though, is an app that loggs everything for you (like a neptune or protrac) and all you have to input is what you did on the jump. Muff #5048
  24. I was actually thinking about this one a bit today. Could you not also use the oppisite toggle to counter the spin? Theoreticaly if you were to pull the opposing toggle past where the cats eye passes the guide ring then the canopy should be back where it started when the brakes are set to begin with. I thought this too may be a way to level out of a spin provided grabbing said toggle is doable. Muff #5048
  25. Short answere is line tension. Get Brian Germain's book The Parachute and its Pilot. He goes into great detail about how the faster the wings airspeed the more lift it generates and in turn more line tension you have (which he explains why that is a good thing). After reading that book you will likely look at your parachute in a completely different light. Muff #5048
