  1. Bonehead did manufacture a full face fixed visor helmet called the boomerang which was marketed towards freeflyers. I have one of these but upon recieving it i decided not to jump it,simply didn't like the feel .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  2. Ok so you're up for a Darwin award and you keep the 'mal' deploy the reserve and bingo,as already mentioned,main/reserve entanglement, downplane or if you're very lucky,a biplane situation where you can fly the hopefully, dominate reserve, still a Darwin award but you,re more likely imo to be alive to recieve it .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  3. If you make the dicision to keep a malfuntion main you've made the wrong decision, simple as that .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  4. Not sure about the set up attitude for a full flight approach,as i,m sure you know,wl,canopy and pilot are just some of the factors which determine this But imo a braked approach as you you described decreases riser pressure. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  5. Not directed at anyone....Heads up land alone. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  6. Problem i have from personal experince going for larger rotations say 270 and above,i find the riser pressure increases so much that i have difficulty in maintaining my dive due to the fact that in my case the riser pressure increases so much that i cannot keep the damn thing "locked" down. May not be a problem for the stronger man tho .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  7. Glad to hear you're an advocate of the only technique i know. I guess it's what works best for the individual. Sorry, but back to the dive, increasing the angle of attack of a canopy to its maximum potential will increase its speed and enable the pilot to achieve more in terms swoop distance etc. I seen many a pilot completing large rotations[360's and some]and simply not achieving much in the way of speed or distance because imo the turns have been relatively "flat" .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  8. Tho i hear what your saying,i believe a braked approach enables me to get my fronts deeper due to initially lightening up the riser pressure.
  9. Like your analogy of a"funnel in the sky" Never thought of it like that. Me,personally go from braked flight to deep double fronts easing up one riser taking or so it feels"deeper into the dive"
  10. Depends on what you're trying to do with the rears. Turn left pull on the left one, turn right pull on the right one Stall the canopy pull them both until the canopy stalls. Plain out in a straight line during a swoop pull them both until the canopy plains out. Point is wtf to expect to learn about how a canopy flys online just jump the damn thing, take your time over many jumps until you know how it flys and you are the master of that canopy and the way it flys, if you have doubts then maybe your just not ready as there's more to flying a canopy than simply surviving it .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  11. Great idea...hope your thread goes along way to demonstrate the not so cool aspects of canopy piloting. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  12. You could also try motorcycle city or similar..Silk under gloves balaclavas etc etc .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  13. I think Cimsa manufacture Icarus under license for the european market predominently a military manufacturer tho. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  14. Whats wrong with swooping a pilot. I learnt to swoop under a chute shop zp150 again a canopy with a short recovery arc. And for the record i've personally seen guys under spectres out performing guys jumping velos just proves a shit pilot will always be a shit pilot even with the "ultimate" tools and a good pilot wont give a shit. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  15. I cut away the wings on the S-Fly recently, up high, out of curiosity. The pull was somewhat trickier than I anticipated, leaving me with one arm inflated, one flapping, and cable flying around everywhere - I went from a nice stable position to a tumbling mess of fun, trying to sort it all out...that was the first time I'd ever been unstable, which was ironic. No, I prefer balling-up! .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  16. If captured with undeclared goods, declare that they are second hand and therfore duty excempt. I didn't tell you that .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  17. Do i here Kent. Where exactly and what are the outs. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  18. very lucky..looked well in the corner i wouldn't think icarus would touch that footage. I've seen guys out swooping velo's with ther spectres so it's not the canopy it's the pilot glad your friend didn't femur .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  19. I think your best bet is to demo the canopies listed in this post, see what you like. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  20. Maybe..maybe the katana suits your flying style but like i said the post i responded to quotes a 15ft2 downsize no comparison. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  21. Not entering a pissing contest here. But 135 vs 120 i,d say 15 ft2 smaller canopy is obviously going to be more aggressive, hence blowing your 135 out of the water. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  22. And simply fly a ground hungry bastard .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  23. think about it from an aerodynamic standpoint. you start pulling on shit you creat drag, correct? Yes,but drag is always there regardless and by pulling on shit you also change the shape of the wing and therefore the way it flys.i.e your able to tailor the way your wing to flys to your advantage simply by pulling on shit . drag is not necessarily a bad thing .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
