no one would agree to let a child play with a vicious dog. (All breeds like people can be taught and trained well if care and consideratiuon are used) But a well trained dog is a different thing all together. All pitbulls have the mean gene, even if they are well trained and cared for. If they get confused or scared, the potential to default to kill mode is always there. QuotePersonally i would not allow young children to play with ANY dogs unsupervised Good call. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

QuoteI would never allow my child to skydive. I don't understand why anyone would want to participate in a sport like this when there are so many other, less risky sports. Is it a penis thing? ***Are you really equating skydiving to letting your child play with vicious dogs? You're not a mother are you? John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

I would never allow my child to play with a pitbull, properly raised or otherwise. I don't understand why anyone would want a breed like this when there are so many gentle breeds around. Is it a penis thing? John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

QuoteSome of us have to make plans ***Here's the plan. Take off the last 2 weekends in Oct and the first 2 in Nov, that should pretty much cover it, and don't worry about hotel reservations, you can stay in Art's camper. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

Why Canopy collisions happen
wrightskyguy replied to Rdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
QuoteI believe these are the words he is focusing on (emphasis in bold): You are correct, it implies that everyone else is the problem. Maybe that's not what he meant, but that's the way it reads. Everyone else is not the problem, but everyone has to be part of the solution. Now calm down Canuck. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver -
Why Canopy collisions happen
wrightskyguy replied to Rdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
First of all, don't me dude, this is 2007 and I'm 47. I can only read what you wrote, not what you were thinking when you wrote it. How do I know, or care what goes on in an organized swwop comp. Perhaps if you had written "comp swoopers are forced to put separation into our jumps and therefore are familiar with importance of canopy separation", I would have better understood the point you were trying to make. I have no agenda, I'm an occasional swooper myself, I just have no interest in competition, besides, capri pants make me look fat. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver -
Why Canopy collisions happen
wrightskyguy replied to Rdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
QuotePlease where did I say that it is "not the swoopers problem"? It's everyone's responsibility to create separation *** They way I read it, you're saying competitive swoopers have it all figured out, everyone else needs to get up to speed. Forgive me, but that's a little bit arrogant. To say swoopers know more about canopies, seperation, and the dynamics of a safe landing pattern because of their chosen discipline is silly. Seperate landing areas is the easiest way to maintain canopy seperation, during the landing phase anyway. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver -

QuoteWe as competitive swoopers Ray know this is a no no ... time for everyone else to start being more proactive in creating separation up there. ***Yeah, it's not the swoopers problem, it's everyone else. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver -

At your experience level right now, nobody can fault you for cutting away. ***Wrong! Cutting away a canopy with nothing more than a broken steering line is absolutely the wrong thing to do. Off topic personal comment removed John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

whats so wrong with a round reserve??
wrightskyguy replied to jasleegoyne's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There are riggers in Palatka that have lots of round reserve experience. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver -
Quote would like to add in regards to the comments about reserves failing, I think it's also important to have faith in your rigger and faith in your reserve. ***I am confident about my rigger and my reserve, that being said, I would never use it for no good reason, like a broken steering line.
