I once convinced 2 female first jumpers that it was a 1st jump tradition for them to ride the airport beacon naked, since there were 2 of them on it, they rode face to face, holding on to each other to keep balanced. If that doesn't make me the skydiving's biggest star, I don't know what would. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

Her mom's bf got me the job i have now...and he understands perfectly why im leaving. It would be a really long post if i sat here and explained everything! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QuoteOh, my bad. I thought you were working for her dad at Haskell Construction and studying business, with expectations to start in the low 6 figures as soon as you graduate. It's always good to see someone repaying thier student loans, congrats! John Wright World's most beloved skydiver -
It's thier business and they can run it like they want. They've pretty much got the same attitude at thier operation in Jacksonville. They're not fun jumper friendly and don't reat thier instructors very well either. A few years ago, they had booked more students than the available instructors could handle, myself and another instructor agreed to come down (from Jacksonville) to help them out. Anyway, we briefed the students, geared them up, and rode the plane to altitude only to have the weather move in for the day. On our way back to Jax manifest called and said they wanted thier $25 back! I understand that intructors don't generally get paid for busted loads, but we were doing them a favor and basically spent 4 hrs driving for squat. I could give a shit less about the money, I don't count on skydiving for income, it's the principal. Jump somewhere else, that's what I do. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

but I don't know any instructors anywhere that would put students out at 2500 ft. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2800 was the norm for years, back in the day. What day was that? 2800 aint 2500, although it's still below a students recommended opening altitude, John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

QuoteMaybe this 4000 ft or higher bullshit has blurred the distinction. Put 'em out at 2500 ft and tell them to look up at the plane as they leave instead of down. they'll clear and pull, don't you worry ***Are you serious? That sounds like a comment from someone that has'nt worked with students. You can tell them to look up at the plane till you're blue in the face, but the fact is that just as many 1st FF students look down as up, probably more, and when they freak out and try to get stable before pulling, I'd like them to have a little cushion. The same thing applies to AFF students doing their first low jump. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't know any instructors anywhere that would put students out at 2500 ft. Be careful what you say here, some may take you seriously. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

on the 5 sec delay we teach our static line students, the pull sequence starts at three, arch thousand, 2 thousand, reach thousand, pull. I don't want a student trying to pull any sooner than that lest he dump on the step. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver
-
A clear an pull is a 5 second delay in student training. I've put out a ton of first FF static line students as well as AFF grads doing their "clear and pulls". The student is far more likely to screw it up if he takes less than the 5 sec delay. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver

i'm sure it only has 200 jumps on it.. *** When I bought my first canopy, I was told it had 500 jumps on it. I subsequently met several previous owners that had at least that many jumps on it. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver
