I originally went three weeks without one until Labor Day weekend. I have slipped a couple of times since. It only happens when I am at the DZ or with other people smoking around me. During the week days I cycle and stay to myself so it just is not an issue or problem... Dunno what to say except I have not quit yet. I am trying though. Just keep trying. And liek someone mentioned above. If you do slip it does not meen you have to start up again. They do not call it one of the hardest addictions for nothing. Some times it's not the nicotine but oral thing. Eat carrots. The little baby carrots help me a lot... Nobody has kicked my ass either.. I am on my own..

I honestly don't see people at the DZ's I jump at or anywhere else using that expression towards women or men for that matter. We do refer to ourselves as skydivng sluts or skydiving whores sometimes but not in mean way. If it bothers you, you should mention it... Or do that payback thing you mentioned...

You never know how things will balance out. I have seen people with thousands of jumps never have a cutaway or just one then have three over a month long period You may not have one for a thousand jumps now or you may three in the next two weeks. Just be ready no matter what. Be safe...

Hey Kirils. There are several DZ's in the Bay Area. From San Francisco I recomend Byron, Lodi, and Davis for the Twin Turbine big DZ's experienced jumpers etc... Santa Rosa is a little 182 DZ just north of SF but beautiful views. Down south a bit further of a drive for you is Monterey and Hollister. Hollister being my home DZ at the moment. Both beautiful places. As for brews send me a PM just before you get to town and maybe meet

Not as many as Nathan that's for sure : 14 : 0 (But I bought a case and half anyway for good karma purposes) I demo'd a Vengeance this weekend. A 97 and a 107. I want to try a Velocity if possible next weekend. I am in need of speed...

Think about what you are saying. Now take a breath. Accidents happen for all sorts of reasons. Not just because of drugs and drinking. Whether you're on them or not accidents happen too. Out of respect for the individual who died in Chicago, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and just call it bad judgement and let him rest in peace. I bet he was a awesome person and not one of the things you mentioned above. I do not think anyone is arguing whether or not we should be jumping high.

Should someone jump while under the influence of any drugs... NO! Should the accident in Chicago be blamed strictly on drugs... NO! Should all JM's be randomly drug tested... NO! Are Leaders, Priests, Role Models, Engineers, Phsycologists, Scientists, Doctors, Pilots, Policemen, etc all PERFECT... Dudes we are human! This thread started with a jumper making a bad decision. The tests indicate he had pot in his system... That is all it is. That is all it is. Speculate is all we can do.

Just a thought here. Ever notice that these professionals like airline pilots, major netowork admins, oil riggers, etc. that must submit to drug tests get paid big big bucks... Last I heard the best a full time JM was able to eek out was maybe maaayyybeee 25-26 grand a year after taxes. I don't know many proffesionals that get paid that low. Ah hell this has no bearing to the above thread. Sorry

How many times have you given the peace signal to some one and they stuck their legs out? No they usually just give a peace signal back to you Whatever you train on the ground they will look for in the sky. The pointing pull signal has not been a problem for me or my students. If I started training a closed fist in the next FJC it would probably go over just as fine as the pointing signal. But after AFF people usually forget them all together. Like mentioned above... I just don't see any method being better than another. I think the general flow of AFF should be some what consistant from DZ to DZ but only one standerdized way? Not neccesary. Some people teach certain ways better than others teach other ways. Whatever works at any particular place is cool. And for students traveling around? Nothing but a little time on the ground to bring everyone up to speed and on the same page...
